ph stabilizer

Hi Guy's

Not sure if you can get something like this but i recently started hydro (DWC) and was wondering if anyone out there knows if you can get a PH stabilizer.

My PH fluctuates to above 7-8 relatively quick and its a pain in the ass to keep it in check. Not that bad but if i can find something out there to make my life easier im on it ;)

hope you'll find a quick solution man, can't help you on that sorry, but i often read people having this problem in the beginning of hydro system, mayb it settles by itself after a few weeks, anyway the pros will tell and i'll read :)

Good luck!

Are your water temps high? high temps lead to pathogens which will cause unstable PH.

Are you keeping water aerated? The same thing can apply.

you can also buy a pH controller. check ebay

The other option is to change your nutes to something that has pH buffering in it.

As miss kitty cat said keep temp consistent and water aerated with an o2 stone. Also, with hydro it's best to keep ph lower than 7.0. I keep my eb and flo system at 5.8 during veg and 6.3 during flower. Keeps the girls looking great and taking in optimal levels of nutes. Good luck man.

Just a update on this ;) i found that using much larger buckets keeps the PH stable as hell, happy me and maybe it helps someone else ;)

I know I'm a bit late to the party here but I try to use a PH down that is comprised of citric acid (or at least has some in it). The General Hydroponics PH down is good. Also, when using RO water I like to add some cal/mag to help make things stable. Lastly, using a stable base nutrient helps out a lot. I use Canna Substra and rarely have PH issues in my DWC systems. Hope this helps out even though you seem to have solved the problem with the larger bucket.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
