Hi bro,

They've grown a lot, well, they look really strong for good flowering, congratulations :friends:

Allowing a tip, try to lower the light until the tip of the plants you have a maximum of 27 º, so plants make better use of light

Merry Christmas friend :kingxmas:

Hey guys, I would like to say thanks for all the love and positive comments :)

I decided to do the last transplant into the 5 gallon fabric pots. First I found another pristine set of sexy fan leaves, while a bit slimer than the last one i still liked it lol.

post-18467-0-57602300-1356724197.jpg

I took to two soil types i had and mixed em all together to make sure that I had enough to fill the pots. I did it a little at a time in a five gallon bucket. i used the roots organic mix and added some pure earthworm castings.

post-18467-0-86677900-1356724227.jpg

This was my first transplant that I had to remove the existing pot, which was a bit tricky but doable. I put a layer of dirt into the bottom of the 5 gal pots and added the root ball after carefully peeling back the last pot then added more dirt to cover it all up.

than bang it was done took a little while to get it all done having to mix the dirt in small batches and the challange of getting the pot out of the first pots lol. I listened to the whole of one of my recent favorite albums. The great americain weed smoker by king gordy. it was about 40-50 mins overall lol.

here my favorite song from that album

Hey guys time for my Monday update ^^ the last one of 2012!

I just reset the time so the plants will have a long sleep tonight! i got some weird yellow spots on the two more indica strains and Im not sure why that is. ill get some better shots of it tomorrow i just fed with a dose of canna start in the hopes that will help out some. my next feeding ill use some of the guano to really get them in the flowering mood.

Hey man thanks for the update :)

What PH and EC do you give them? and how often? i think they often have kind of droopy leaves even if they look good something must be causing this,

Did you ever flush since the beginning of growth? think they would like it and we'd see how the leaves react.

Have a good grow and thanks for the news keep them coming :)

Ok dont hate me but i dont have an ec meter. i have been setting the ph as close to 6.0 as i can get via the liquid indicator system (ehh does this look yellow to you? lol)

as for flushing I have logistical problems with that. no drain in the floor, and 4 5 gallon pots. so i would have to let 40 gallons onto the floor and wait for it to evaporate :s even with buckets and shit to put under the pots it would be a real pain to get it out of the room not to mention the fact i cant really monitor the EC of the water. i wont have any money to buy an ec meter untill early February.

Just when i think i had everything covered more stuff pops up to smack me in the face lol. i guess that salt build up is kind of toxic to the plant lol guess ill find a way to do it for my next watering. how big of a deal is the ec of the water through soil? and would the lack of a flush cause these spots to pop up?

heres a group shot for today i think they have improved a little bit. I bumped the ballast up to 600w yesterday as well it seems the ladies love it, and they are all ladies i checked and they do have the female preflowers ^^

yeah might come from salt build up, problem is if you have salts in your pots, even if you feed good EC they will not eat it properly. And for the flush, you don't have a shower? just put them in a sink or shower or bath and let the water runout ;)

You can also fill a big bucket bigger than your pots of water, and let the pots soak in it for few minutes ;)

For the EC in soil, it is important yes, not as important as hydro, because if you know your nute line more or less, you know what is good for your plants and in what quantities, but fr a more precised grow and always more results it is always better to have precise and constant EC and datas on everything so you know what's wrong in case like yours when it happens ;)

But i know we can't start with everything i myself didn't have EC meter or PH meter during first 3 years i think ;)

Good luck man

leaf porn... kings kush has maybe thee nicest lookin shape of indica leaf.

You remember beein not able to pick them out at my grow. Try again now :D

I would not panic about the unusual coloration or tip deformation on maybe 3 of 25 leaf, specially not when in the low 1/3 of the plant.

Before you flood them again with gallons of water...may i ask about water amount + how often do they get this?

Do the leaf ever curl up? My look like this after watering, but not longer than 1h, maybe 2.

Then they stand up, face the light again. 10% potsize every 2-3 days is my raw basic that i follow. Even on flowering plants you dont need much more.

One more thing about that older leaf that about to die. They have been produced in a time when plants didnt looked that good at all.

Could be still a leftover of that time.

So if you think they are as dry as you can go, then flush them. Before flush a medium it can be left without water for atleast 5 days.

Nice, everytime you update i get a better feelin mate.

Hey man what´s up.

If you want to flush your plants and use less water, you should consider to use a flushing product ( they are not expensive ).

You can find this kind of product from several brands in the market and you have to use just the same amount of water than the capacity of your pots.

Just a thought.

Happy new year for you.

Thank you Fran I'll have to swing by my local hydro shop and check it out.

Pi2 so far the light alone has been keeping it between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. But That was on the 18/6 cycle ill have to keep an eye on it as it just swapped to the 12/12 cycle ^^

Atrox- I have been hitting them with a little under a gallon between all the plants and it takes 5 or 6 days for them to dry out I try to leave them in dry soil for a day or two before i water them. but that was with them in the 1 gallon pots ill prob have to step it up a little bit now they are in five gallon pots.

Wow Tokage that makes total sense. It aggravates the crap out of me however, I thought with soil I wouldn't have to deal with things like that.

On a more positive note, the flush has done good imo i saw a huge spike in growth just in a matter of days, Due to how hard I was making the process on myself I staggered the plants getting flushed over about three days, i did two on one day 1 the next and the final one on the third day. Since i was pretty much going through 40 gallons of water and had no drain and didnt want to raise the humidity that much i used a milk crate and a 20 gallon tote in conjunction with 1 gallon jugs and a small trash can. i would measure out 5 gallons and put it in the trash can (which was totally clean btw) and then refill the jugs and ph balance it all and the do the dirty work and then empty the tote.

I didn't snap a whole lot of pictures of the process with all the water involved and my camera being my only phone. I did get a few thorugh out the next week as well as a couple just taken today.

I love how huge the leafs are, I almost want to cut one off to be laminated or something its just crazy how big they are. The smell keeps getting a little more skunky each day, its not dominate yet but its creeping around that's for sure. The little hairs on the plant are starting to stand out a little more too. I think the next watering will involve some guano just to really put them in the flowering mood.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
