Big Bang Powder Feeding [Completed]

229 posts in this topic

Week 4 (day 28) of Veg Plants are looking good and Green.

Watered plants today as they were very dry.

Looks like my mixture of 25% perlite may be a little to much.

Tap water EC .51 PH 8.0

Feeding water EC .51 PH 6.0 Used AN PH down.

I will have to let them grow another week at least as they are still small.

The smallest is 10inchs the largest is 15, I would like them to avg 15 inchs, (I guess)

NOTE: 2 of the 3 AK48 were male, chopped them down yesterday.

I planted some experimental Big Bang, I used : Pro-Mix PUR Powder myco inoculant rather than root dip, in rockwppl cubes.

Worked ok and got 8 out of 8 to root. So I have planted 4 per pot as they are young in comparison to the others,

I will grow them for a single cola, saw it done on the internet, and as it was on the internet it must work. LOL.

I am going to get my new lights tomorrow "Hortilux HPS" and get them in.

Hey man thanks for the news girls are getting nice in that room :)

Don't forget when you will start flowering they should have a little stretch so will keep growing pretty strong for 2 weeks mini after beginning of flowering ;)

I read too EC 5,1...hmm i think something must be wrong no?

Beside that room looks lovely the bushes are developing really nice and the cute lil clones will make nice one buds :)

Sorry too about the males they were regular seeds?

Have a good grow keep the pics coming ;)

Upssssssssss EC 0.51 not 5.1

The AK 48 males were from seeds off a 1/4 oz we bought from a dispensary in LA, great smoke.

Stretch !!!! These big bamg don't stretch a lot. I think with the other grow they only stretched like 40% went from 16 to 22 inchs.

Rather than take up more room I will just add an answer to Dust here:

The FIREFOX browser works fine,

Must be an error in my IE.

THanks Dust

Update on the 3 x GH The Doctor and Barnies Pinapple Chunk.

The Doctor are the 3 on the left. will have to pot them soon.

Have feed them a couple of times with PBP Grow, they look good and will be saved for the next grow.

I feel we will get enough product from the above grow to last us for 6 months or so.

We still have sufficient product from our last grow to last us a long time. (We Aare light wieghts) lol

I will keep them in small pots under a t5 floro, and should be able to get clones when were ready

Hi Tokage

Yes they are small under the counter t5 6000K lights. they work good for clones. (At lest the ones I have done)

I repoted the Doc and Pinapple last night in about 1ltr pots.

I wish I had not germinated the seeds so soon.

If the above grow goes ok, we will have med running out our ears? Ha

I don't think I will start another grow until July or Aug.

I need to find some info on how to keep em small, may be like a bonsi or something?

I am only allowed by state law to have 1lb, none by Fed law, and I don't really want to get into the selling business.

Any info/ help on keeping them small for about 6 month will make me happy grower.

You know the drill. Topping will keep them down but could make them bushy. Lst is nice but much work.

Best is to flower them early. Veg them small and you get small plants. Also the use of small pots will help as long you do not get root-bound

Thats about what i figured, just have to top and trim untill I'm ready to get some clones.

Thanks again Tokage

yeah like tok said best is to flower them earlier instead of trainning them, for example with a 12/12 from seed if you don't take too much sativa strains, you can end up with a nice SOG in 80 days more or less in 7L to 11L pots. Plants will be about between 40 to 70cm depends on the strains can go a little higher for slh for example or other sativa dom.

Good luck man ;)

day 32

Feed plants

Plants were dry to the point of wilting on a few plants.

Tap Water 0.50 EC ,8.1 PH

Feeding water 1.49 EC PH 6.0 (AN PH down)

NOTE: Used 6 x 10g packets of Powder Feeding Short flowering, 1 gram per ltr.

Plants are painfully slow growing, has to be all the topping and trimming I did.

Heights range from 11 to 16 inch’s, will change to 12/12 soon.

The Stalks and branch’s are much thicker and stronger than my first grow.

I feel good about all the bud sites i can see, all level and in the light.

Have the new Super Hortilux 600w installed.

The room stays at 75deg thanks to the AC.

Humidity is low at 35, have to drag the humidifier out.

Within hours of feeding the little top leaves went straight up, a sight to see.

well yeah for sure they are still growing pretty slow, but like you know where it comes from be ready when it will blow, thick stems are for holding fat buds :D :D and by the time you wait she must be making some nice root ball to blow those flowers out ;)

Thanks for the news man the 12/12 will be fun to watch :)

Have a good grow

I hope you are right Dust, it seem like a reasonable assumption.

Small update of things I have learned:

Those plants I severly trimed of under growth were the shortest plants (slowest growth)

12 inch verses 16 inch for those that were trimmed less severly.

There is a medium that will come with experience.

I have learned a valuable lesson (From Fanco's Article's)

I let the plants go to very dry this time to the point of wilting.

When I feed them 2 days ago they have really shot up, the best I can figure they grew 1 1/2 inch in almost 2 days

I would love to order from GH, but they don't ship to the usa.

Herbies takes the seeds out of there original breeders packet to ship.

I would love to see Amsterdam again.

I was there in the early 70's Went to a school in Kinderdyke (Not sure of the spelling), where all the windmills are.

Had an apt. in Amstilveen for 6 months, beautiful place.

In those days we smoked a lot of hash, I remember getting some Lebinese Red. OMG was it good.

Studied for the computer that controlled the Cutter Suction Dredgers.

They sold 3 of them to the Sheik of Abu dabhi.

Spent 3 yrs in the UAE.

Plant are looking really good to my eye, will change the timers to 12/12 tonight.

Week 5 day 35 of Veg.

Lights Super Hortilux HPS 600w x 3

Air cooled hoods with glass via a 6 inch Fan/Filter

Room temps controlled via a dual hose AC 900bu

18 inch wall fan for circulation air

Bloom 12 on 12 off

Plants are 13 to 17 inch's high

28 x Big Bang in 3 gal pots (10ltr)

1 x AK48 in 3 gal pot

1 x Big Bud in 2 gal pot

8 x Big Bang clones in 2 x 3 gal pots

After 2 of the AK48 turned out to be males and I chopped them down.

I did not want to waste the space and had the clones with roots, so I planted the suckers.

PS: I gave a friend the 3 "The Doctor" and 3 "Pinapple Chunk" and 1 "Mazar".

He will grow them out and take clones, will pick the best one's for a mom.

Day 3 of Bloom Sun 1/13/13

Water plants with Great White MYCORRHIZAE

Also did last trim of undergrowth,

The first grow I had tons of undergrowth and rotton leaf

as I could not get to the back of my area.

Tap water 0.50 EC, 8.0 PH

Feed water 0.51 EC 6.0 PH MYCORRHIZAE and AN PH Down

Note: I had less than 10% runoff (Just did it on one plant)

EC 1.62 PH 6.2

I don't think that is bad?

I will flush next watering

Pics of the AK49 and Big Bud #Big Bud was a free seed, AK48 was a bag seed.

You did a really good job keeping those ladies short.

And taking of all those lower branches, I think you will have a really nice crop.

Respect.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
