Big Bang Powder Feeding [Completed]

229 posts in this topic

Wow, some great info:

Thanks Dust, I will do a partial defoliation, I personaly think that the big leaves are the Engine for the buds and I don't have a lot of small stuff under neith.

Having said that, I will do a little defoliation. Thanks

Thanks for the info FIM

altho I have read Franko's info on Flushing, your information kind of brings it home.

In a day or 2 when the plants are dry, I plan on taking a middle size plant and poring water through it (1 ltr at a time) until I get to an EC of about 1.0.

Then I will have a guide for all the plants, it is to difficult to do all 30 plants for runoff.

I have my setup so the the runoff goes down the shower drain.

I will do the single plant on a 5 gal bucket, checking the EC and cleaning the bucket each time.

When the EC is down to 1.0 I plan of giving them a mild feeding of PF at 1.0 EC and may be some Molasses and once more of the Great White Micro's?

Does this sound like a good plan?

PS: This will happen on or about week 3 of Bloom.

Thanks

Ok I did it dust, pinched off a lot of Fan leaves.

The more I removed the more I saw, it was good to get to the plants in the back.

I thought I had removed most of the lower buds, but there was plenty, got to remove some leave on the bottom also.

There is plenty of leaves left, a good lesson learned.

I ended up with 1/3 of a 2 cubic foot sack of fan leaves :prankster:

A pic of the girls first hair do lol

PS: Lot of finger hash, looked at buds with 30x and lots of tricks on leaves.

Question?

It must shock the plants some by removing all those leaves?

Is there an optima time to defoliate (Prolly on lams info somewhere just could not find it) ?

yes it's a little shock that 's why when you do it, you better do it good so you do it only once ;) but it's not a huge stress most of the time you won't even notice a diferences in the girls growth

Check here for complete infos on defoliation ;)http://www.strainhun...hl__defoliation

3rd birthday of flower

I should have watered today, but, Pots are still moist Ummmmmm

I have been watering/feeding every 6 days with approximately 2 ltr of water each.

Sense Flushing, it is now day 7 and plants still wet.

I will take Dusts and Lams advice and increase my water/feed amount to 3 ltrs each plant, so as to get more runoff.

I don't think I have been completely wetting the plants.

I really like the formation of the bud sites, they are really close together compared to my 1st grow.

Here are a few pics, Enjoy

Thanks Dust, for the advice on Defoliating , still lots of leaf material left.

Edit: PS looks like the stretch is over, the tallest plant is 26 inchs and the smallest is 17 inches.

looking good man :) yes the stretch if not over should stop anytime and they will not take a lot now seeing how the ubds are developping now :)

And it looks proper man!! it is gonna be a great SOG in few weeks here :D

Good luck with the new watering ;) If you think you can continue with 2 liters and have enough runoff don't be afraid ;)

Day 24 of Flower Feb 4 2013

Water Plants (Water Only)

24 hrs stored in 55gal barrel for 24 hrs.

NOTE: EDIT: Calibrated both EC and PH meter, they were spot on.

EC 0.51 Ph 6.5 (Original Ph 7.7 used AN PH down) Water temp 68.9 deg F

NOTE:

Chose 4 plants for testing EC and PH

Used 2 ltrs per plant (See 2 ltr soda bottle)

Plant 1 was the tallest at 26 inches 2, 3, and 4 were smaller the smallest being 17 inches tall.

Plant EC PH Amt in MLtrs (Runoff)

1 0.85 6.5 125m

2 0.96 6.5 170m

3 1.20 6.6 220m

4 1.34 6.6 240m

Do I dare make an assumption that:

The bigger the plant the more it eats and the sooner it drys out? :rabbi:

great man thanks for the update :)

Yes you can assume that the bigger the more they eat ;) and indeed the more roots in the soil, the faster the soil will dry out i did notice that too..

Keep us updated ;)

Have a good grow

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
