Lumatek dual 6oo W? timer?

Hi guys, a question as usual

I want to install 2 600 W lamps, one HPS and the other MHP. I want to connect this both on one ballast, lumatek dual 6oo W 240V dimmable.

Is this possible or do I need 2 ballasts for full output?

And for the workingclock/timer, recommendations?

i've never tried this, but i think 2 600w won't work at full power on 1 600w ballast, might work but might fire too :s

Best and safest way would be to use 2 600w ballast and you'll have better harvest anyway

I've seen people do what you wanna do but wasn't with digital so don't want to induce you in dangerous ways

several lamps on 1 ballast can be done i had read it in a book and seen some reports, but i wouldn't try it lol ^^

the lumitec dual is a 1200w spilt to 2 channals. it will work fine

thats exactly what i use and i tryed some things like you mentioned and blew out all the circuts in my whole grow room when i put it back together with just the one 600 it has been working fine im not an expext electration so i might have wirered it wrong but for me no way again i might have started a fire.so i would rather use the other idea myself it makes more sence 2 ballasts 2 bulbs more safty involved i think, that has been my experience. thanks for all the info in almost a year of growing i understand now you got to go with the program or you get messed up plants,im learning every day,thats why i do this its a great hobby for me.

I'll take the safe way by placing 2ballasts

you could flip them 9 hour one 9 hour the over i no mh is better for veg but just one way you could use one ballasts
