Spliting the main stem before harvest

hy guys

has erveryone heard about a technic where you split the main stem with a knife one day before harvest?

a friend of mine said he readed it in a book about growing. he said that the plant gets a shock, think she dies and pushes the last into the buds.

i´m skeptic myself, if it really would bring a good effect.

What you think? or have you done it before?

I have done this before (you can see this in my grow logs).

This actually works! However, make sure you do this as late as possible (last 3-4days of flushing)

That was one method people used to create "Gold" weed back in the 70's.

You'd split the stem about two weeks before harvest,insert a small stick in the split, and wait for the magic to happen.

I really never thought it did much for the potency, but it changed the taste and the look of the final product. People wouldn't pay much more than 25 bucks an ounce for homegrown in those days if it was any shade of green,no matter how good it was. Growers would make it turn gold,stick some made up name on it and it would sell for 150 bucks an oz. " It's Kona Gold,dude!"

fun fact man i never heard that it was turning the color into gold, some of my friend use to do it but i don't remember the color lol was long time ago, thanks for the input
