another update on regeneration - 8/8/2010

I have some updated photos of the church plant which I am regenerationing.

She has started to show new growth after about 3 weeks.

The plant will take off now, and grow very fast.

I will keep updating this post.

These pictures show how the new growth appears from the buds of the plant.

Once new growth begins,and the plant is large enough, it can be used either for a mother:

the clones can be flowered

or used for crossing or back crossing,

and later on flowered again

Or, once the plant has enough veg growth, it can just be re flowered

but because you know this particular strain better: its growth pattern, likes and dislikes -

it is easier to get a higher yield than the first time the plant was flowered.

How much light, and for how long? You had mentioned before 24 hrs of light, but will it now work with 18? If it needs 24, for how long?

Hello Jay,

When the light cycle is extended to induce veg growth, 18 to 24 hours of light will work.

Just as you put the plants under a 3 day dark peroid to induce the plant to flower,

so to get the plant to revert from flowering back to veg, 24 hours of light is better.

The light does not have to be intense( say from a HID) a fluro will do the trick., along with warm temperatures.

Once the plant as shown new veg growth( as in the photos above) then the light can be reduced to 18 hours.

Once the new growth as began to appear, then use a Hid, and the plant will grow very quickly.

The length of time it takes for a plant to revert from flowering to full veg growth is anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks.

It does take around 3 to 4 weeks longer before the plant is large enough to be flowered again;

The plant must be pruned. (I shall show all this in my future posts).

Seeing your pictures helped me to identify the new growings on my clone, they are very much alike altough in my case it's reveg..

When re-vegging, Do you have to give it synthetic N?

hi international,

If the soil is good and the plant has access to nitrogen, it should be fine. There are some organic soluble forms of nitrogen, like fish emolsion, which would work really well.

I will keep my eye out and if you decied to regenerate, I will help. I have done it many times.
