Here we go with Wales's World cup effort, ten auto bombs to go out this year, havent been able to find a new spot so just have to make more of an effort fighting the elements this year. Not planning to start them off till April but ive done a session in the field before all the insects get busy, got most of the soil up and ive preped 4 decent pots and the rest will go tiered into the old water tank thing.

1st make big hole in pot - good for drainage !

post-3111-0-43810100-1361206285.jpg

Then add big rock

post-3111-0-03958000-1361206323.jpg

Then add gravel and pebbles from river

post-3111-0-97515700-1361206368.jpg

Put some soil in and leave till needed ! Any animal dung can be put in now too if ya like, few months too rot down wont do any harm.

Macaveli - its an Acorn 5210 pro IR wildlife camera trap, its one of the cheaper ones but does the trick

Miminexus - i can only pray for a strong summer ! usually they are crap

The map text hasnt been smoked yet, the "C" from "cup" is my big bang auto entry in the bud of the month comp !!

I know i said id start in April but i dont have the space to start them off, theres still snow on the mountains too and spring might have started today but its still c--c-c-c-cold outside !

I will start before the june deadline ( one day before !) and will do 5 completely outdoors (too see if its productive) and 5 with an indoor headstart.

Sorry for misleading you all - and is there anyone interested in doing autobombs completely outdoors ? start may 25th (full moon) would be interesting to see how they do left to the forces of nature at differing lats, could become a kind of side comp for kudos !

So the 1st wave is underway, 2 bombs put into soaking paper towels last Friday 10th ?

post-3111-0-67591800-1368459983.jpg

They have both been put into one bucket for the start off, i have 64 watts of energy savers and a window sil to keep them alive !

I will lst them away from each other then tier the start off bucket into one of my planters.

Will start another batch off in 2 weeks and also sow some directly into mother nature !

congrat on the germination man :) Hope those 2 babies will finish as pretty ladies full of heavy buds, with some LST it should be interesting to see how the autos react!

Good luck for the next one too if you plant to put some ^^

Have a good grow

Not much to report

post-3111-0-02456000-1369234829.jpg

Both made it through, im putting plastic pint glasses over them at night and feeding only water. Im using john innes cutting and seedling compost and might try and get them out before June comes around and use a cloche for a couple of weeks. Will also plant some direcly into the ground/pots when these go out for a comparison.

The state of play is that the 2 biggest girls have been separated as one was always bigger so i took the wee one out to give it more of a chance, the plastic bag lining certainly helped with this tast but we'll see how that goes.

Ive noticed that the shell husks need to be taken off by hand with the sedlings, this maybe because my grow space is too dry i dont know but ive found that all of this batch needed some help. 2 seedlings didnt make it and one is a little deformed soive got 5 healthy seedlings, one defo dead, 2 maybe's and the 2 that are transplanted, the healthier one to go out later this week.

So heres this weeks update, 3 went out under a cloche, was going to check on them today but the weather is sooo rough its not worth the hassle ! One is still not certain to make it and 2 died. They went under last Tuesday 11/6 and the 2 biggest also went out into the preped pots, the spot is soaking wet and humid and the insects are rife so my appologies but i didnt check the photo and its not in focus !. The one i repotted hasnt grown since and i fed it with the powder feed when they went out. The biggest hasnt grown either, the weather has been poor all week so that could be to blame but the transplantee is half the size of the other. Ive kept 3 indoors as the plants i was expecting to be growing indoors this month all died !

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
