I only use the unit for germ, clone and veg now. Germ and clones at the bottom and then there move to the upper room. I dont do the fog any more it becam a task to manage also there is no room for equipment malfuncition if the nebulizer stops or doesn't have the proper level of liquid the roots dry out in a matter of hours lost several plants in one hit.

Airponics is also prone to root disease, but I have seen some smaller units for striking cuttings, they would work fine, without all the worry of a larger unit.

I just hand water for the first two weeks then go to ebb and flow.

I totally agree no room for error with aquaponics/fogponics.

main problem with fogponics is as you say, the nebulizers stop working, this is due to a build up of nutrient salts.

The only way around this is to frequently replace the mebranes.

on a non fogging note.

If anyone is using aquaponics and use neoprene disks to hold the cuttings, replace these everytime this will reduce infection and subsiquent cutting loses.
