How can you tell if slight red leaf stems is a deficiency, or a genetic trait?

when you re absolutely sure of yoru feeding schedule ^^ but it's pretty hard it's easier to see when you grow on big scales a few strains and even there it's half/half chances a little ^^

What strain is it? some are known to have red stems like the vanilla kush i believe. who knows maybe someone will know for yours ;)

I grew about 9 of them, and they all exhibited this trait. I am also growing a few other different strains that have no signs of red leaf stems. I am convinced it is a genetic trait...

incidentally, I dont have a name for this plant yet, it is a strain that I have been working on for about 2 years. I love breeding. I get ahold of random seeds and start from scratch. This proccess, in my opinion, teaches you more about selective breeding.

I have a question about red/purple patches underneath leaves (even at a young age).

Starts at the bottom of the plant?

Ive had this happen a few times and noticed slower growth on these plants.

Does anyone know if this is a common deficiency, and what type of deficince could it be?

what do you call patches? the stems etc? if it's for the stem quite a few micro def can cause this, but it can also appear with cold temperature during the night cycle ( or at least a big diference between day and night) and also some strains just do it and will almost always do, like the vanilla kush i've seen a few grow and most of the time they had purple stems

the red colour is actually on the leaves underneath, it looks like a deficiency. (no red stems just red colour through the underneath of the leaf. It happened on the lower part of the plant

The strain i found to have this was the (advanced seeds critical) and the critical+ auto by dinafem.

I havent noticed this with the critical before (although i did get red stems onc or twice through deficiencies with them).

This is the first time doing an automatic i got as a freebie seed so i dont know a lot about their growth patterns, yet.

I do a lot of outdoor and was wondering if this would finish well by putting it out with my other photoperiods and letting the natural dark/light cycles take care of it?

Thanks for getting back to me on this dust.

Cheers

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
