Time for another update, these pics were taken on 2 October, 3 weeks into hair production, 6 weeks in the room, all are around 9 weeks old:

This is looking from where I have my water bucket (35 gallon). In front is the White Widow, behind her on the left is the El Nino

on the right is the Super Lemon Haze, behind them are two Thai plants.

The height on the SLH on the right is 5 feet, the Thai would be about 6+ feet but I pulled the top bud below the others. Now the other branches are almost 5 feet tall.

Side View, Thai on the left, El Nino to the right, Super Lemon Haze in the back :

This is the Super Lemon Haze you can see in the background:

SLHBud.jpg

Over all the plants look great. They are drinking regularly, about 30 gallons every 10 days. I am preparing the 3rd res change this weekend.

Buds are absolutely every where. The plants are a lot wider, and bushier than I expected. Live and learn.

6 weeks to start of harvest, and counting ;)

drunkknucklehead,

I have 4 120w tricolor leds, and 5 125w CFLs that hang below the canopy.

This is my second grow with the room the way it is. My first grow was more plants (8) but they weren't as big. They yeilded right around 16 ounces.

I bought them on ebay, let me know if you want the seller's info. They cost $159 a piece, and give off zero heat. The plants can grow into them and there is no burn, but if you let the buds get too close for a long time (weeks) the buds will bleach out.

Thai:

Observations:

White Widow smells almost as sweet as El Nino which is incredibly juicy sweet.

The Thai is still growing taller. She is around 6 feet right now.

Everything is so much bushier than the last grow, not sure why, but they all look very healthy, bud sites every where!

Peace,

J

drunkknucklehead-,

If you look at my previous post under grow room design/Super Shed, my original post on the shed, you can see the results of the LEDs.

I grew more plants, but I think that I can go with even less plants and still fill the room out. Last time I walked away with about 16 ounces, dry and cured.

Thanks!

Hi Jay... Very nice vege area, liked the inner system u did for the clones, are those 360 or 180 degrees sprayers with out the top?

In the bucket the sprayers are 360 degree, and are $1 a piece here:

http://www.discount-hydro.com/productdisp.php?pid=195&navid=22

I think the main thing though is to completely cover the clone in this stuff, Vita Grow anti wilt:

http://www.discount-hydro.com/productdisp.php?pid=357&navid=11

I did all the clones almost 10 days ago, and have lost only one leaf. The roots are a bit slow, but the clones have been growing new shoots and leafs. Very cool!

looking excellent, my friend. Amazing!

The Thai needs less water, and more oxygen around the root zone.

happy harvest,

tokage,

In the room, when I brush up against El Nino the smell is the most intense, extremely fruity!

But, on the front side of the shed there are two air vents, one I have a fan connected to, so while the lights are on, the fan runs, keeping the humidity and temp down. However, if you are standing in front of the shed you are hit with the exhaust from the fan, and the smell is almost all Thai. It's the hazy, woody minty smell of a good Sativa. Not much coming off the plant itself that I can notice, maybe too close to El Nino, but the combination is incredible.

To bad we can't bottle the scent ;)

You have quite a jungle in there and they are looking amazing;

I take my hat off to your skills.

Your thai, though needs a good flush, and then a lower EC

and less water, the roots need oxygen.

The equatorial sativas do not like too much food or water, especially when flowering;

if you cut back on the water with the thai, and a lower EC, she will improve.

great stuff.

happy growing, Jay

and harvest,

john

Update November 7th:

I moved my black and white plastic wall 2 feet, and pulled the plants apart, opening up the grow a bit.

My White Widow is covered with tricomes, and sitting under a 400 watt hps:

WhiteWidowBud1Small.jpg

The El Nino is off the hook:

ElNinoBud1Small.jpg

ElNinoBud2Small.jpg

The Super Lemon Haze is getting huge, and the buds are everywhere!

SLHBudSmall.jpg

Looks like maybe 2 weeks left for the white widow and el nino, then I'll give them water only for a week. I'm still hoping to plump up the buds some more.

Any ideas?

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
