Aloha Jimmy, With the Gold Label Special Mix do you add anything during the bloom stage? Here in the USA our bagged soil mixes are unregulated and they could bag up the garbage off the barn floor and sell it to consumers. In Europe all you have to do is check out the labels.

Or you can start from scratch and make your own, which is the standard! The soil I'm using now is was nothing more than Fox Farms Ocean forest when I started it...

The soil that I'm using now started with that Fox Farms Ocean Forest, but it now something totally different! A little American ingenuity you know?!

I only add water 100% organic. It´s like a small treat for my self ;). Sorry to hear about the lack of respect to you organic growers you have in the US. Seems like we are lucky here in EU.

Peace & Smoke

Brother Jimmy

Nice to see another organic gardener brother! You're plants are a rediculously happy shade of green right now! Nice!

What's your soil mix look like? Great job brother.

Aloha International Green, Fox Farm is available here in Hawaii but most people use Pro Mix because it is less expensive and works just as well with the addition of our Hawaiian black cinders (aka lava rock). Would you care to fill us in on how you customize your organic soil mix? What is the pH and target drain through test EC?

Aloha brother! This is the soil mix that I'm currently using! It's also on the first post from my current thread.

There are links to each product if you just click on the name of the product.

This is my 3rd mix tho! I started with FFOF as I found it to be a nutrient rich medium and just continued buying the same thing so that I could familiarize myself with it, so really I haven't tried to grow in anything else, but I've had success from the start and chose to stick with FFOF to build off that success.

But I don't pH anything so I couldn't tell you. I don't pH the soil or the ACTs that I use.

I also don't own and EC meter never have.

From what I've learned, pH is pretty much irrelevant in a living soil, as the microbes regulate the pH.

This is why I was a little confused that you have a feedling schedule and you're growing organic.

I can go water only from start to finish, but I use ACT from time to time just because I've had success with them.

But basically my goal was to create my own vegan organic soil, which has all the nutrient within! The only things I use in my grow that come in a bottle are UnSulphured Molasses and Neptunes Harvest Fish Hydrolysate.

And This batch of soil wasn't bought new.I recovered as much soil as I could from my previous grow and then I re-amended that soil!

Hopefully I'll never have to buy soil again! We'll see. Right now I have a few totes full of soil, and a win bin going as well!

You should def. look into getting a bin going IF you don't already have one!

But here you go.

Growing Medium

My 100% Organic Soil Mix

Each 15 gallon batch of reclaimed, recycled, Fox Farms Ocean Forest Base soil I reconditioned w/

The soil mix that I used for those 3 plants originally was:

  • -1.5 cubic feet(roughy 11 Gallons) Fox Farm Ocean Forest
  • -2 Gallons(roughly 30 cups) Perlite
  • -3 tbsp Hi-Cal lime
  • -1 ½ Gallon(24 cups) Wiggle Worm Earth Worm Castings
  • - ¾ cup Espoma Tomato Tone 3-4-6
  • -1 ½ cups Algamin Kelp Meal 1-0-2
  • - ¾ cup Espoma Greensand 0-0-0.1
  • -7.5 cups Glacial Rock Dust

Aloha Jimmy, Your plants are looking outstanding! The Nitrogen levels in the Hybrid Powderfeeding Formula seem to enhance a dark green leaf color that looks great in your photos.

Thank you so much brother. Yes it seems that way. But I think it´s nothing dangerous about that, seems like they like it :D. Thanks for stopping by ;).

awesome looking ladies man those leaves seems huge already :) And nice dark green like older said, almost a little too much on some of them ;) but i'm sure everything is under control :)

Thanks bro. Yeah Im a hydro grower how do some organic from time to time. I use a mix called Gold Label Special Mix is made using Swedish virgin white peat of the highest quality: One gram of Special Mix can absorb a stunning ten grams of water. The peat is cut into a coarse structure and mixed with only the highest quality perlite, Swedish clay, lime, minerals, trace elements and organic fertilizer. It’s a complete mix, ready for use. Special Mix contains nutrients for almost a complete crop cycle.

Thanks for stop by my friend.

Little bit to much Nutes

I grew tons of Lemon Skunks so i just discovered that she likes it to get low nutes in beginn of Flowering and at the moment when buds really start to become forming u blow her uo with good ec it will make the grow time like 4-7 Days longer but the Flavour and yield is just more than worth it.

But dont worry im not saying ur harming ur Plants or something its just a little tip cause i relly know these genethics :)

Aloha Vertox, Greenhouse Seed's Powderfeeding nutrient schedule has an EC of 1.7 to 1.8 during the peak flowering stages for hydroponic Hybrid Strains. I was wondering how much of a reduction in this usage rate you think is needed for this strain?

Very strange buddy. I even have the old feeding cart from GHSC and there it say that Lemon Skunk is on a EC of 1,5-2,0 under flowering. I guess I go whit my filling on this one and follow the powder feeding cart. Thanks for input do.

Aloha Jimmy, I was wondering if the pH and EC goes up or down between nutrient change outs? The one great thing about a Waterfarm System is it gives one a good idea about what the plant is taking up.

Hey oldmarine

I did it in the beginning* and what I discovered was that the Ph went up and Ec went down. I never wrote down some numbers. Why I did not continue I do not know lol, must have been with my laziness to do;). Might be a fun thing to start doing again: D. Thank you for stop by
