HELLO HUNTERS AND FRIENDS & THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE REALLY NICE COMMENTS AND ENCOURAGEMENT..if I haven't replied yet to your comments yet I will ASAP.

WEEKLY UPDATE!! MAIN GROUP OF 5 PLANTS ARE 41 DAYS OLD FROM SEED & BIG BANG AUTO IS 26 DAYS OLD – WARNING fFOR THE FAINT OF HEART! This post includes a picture of a growing related injury..with a bloody foot picture! So if you don't like feet or bloody feet for that matter, it's only one picture really..suck it up! lol. Also sorry for the delay, it is now more work to update, I accidentally deleted an important adapter on my laptop for the internet..friends shouldn’t let friends mess with computers when really baked :P At least not me :P

Well another week has passed quickly and happily for the most part with rapid growth both vertically still and of buds :) Resin and smell have really picked up which I really noticed on my shorts after I backed into a Super Critical, (which was out of the tent and behind me while watering) at which point I panicked, stepped forward onto the scissors (curved tips down luckily) pivoted on my heel to check for damage to the plant and OWW holy shit slice to the foot!! Luckily I only had 1 plant left to water so I hobbled around, finished up, and tended to my wound..no one can say I won’t bleed for my babies lol. Thank god the cut isn’t somewhere on my body that I use constantly and gets pressure put on it over and over while I work..oh wait. :P Ahh the dangers of being a small time indoor ganja farmer lol.

I’ve tried to properly capture in pictures the cool twin Sweet Mango auto bud on the one plant. It is interesting how the stem is like a double stem then splits off into identical twin buds almost as if she was topped or something while sharing like a 3rd leaf where they split. I’d be interested in knowing if there is a term for this or how common it is.

I’ve also finally gotten round to taking some measurements as well in case anyone is interested in the numbers. After sorting pics I noticed I somehow only took pics of the SMA#1 plant and forgot SMA#2..oh would she be jealous if she only knew!! :P I also decided to include a couple pictures of the bubble bag hash I finally got round to making a few weekends ago from the Trainwreck trim in my freezer from my indoor grow, before it is all gone lol. It was hand mixed for the best possible purity, and I’ve included a picture of each screen size 73 micron and 25 micron I believe .It burns very clean and it is wonderful stuff for pain and for just chilling out and then sleep later at night after the initial soaring high fades away :) THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GREAT MEDS GHSC!!

Have a great week everyone, the pictures, data and journal entries tell the rest of the story Sorry for the flood of pictures!! I have a hard time deciding what pictures I like the most. It has nothing to do with my photography or my growing, the cannabis plant is just such a beautiful plant!! Please enjoy and PEACE FRIENDS!

Wow! Lights out rH maxed @ 70% today and temperature only dropped to 24 °C. I would prefer no more than 55 – 60%, and temperature to drop to around 22 right now to be reasonable. I should not have turned down the A/C fan a notch and should have lowered it a few degrees as well. A lesson learned.

By the time lights came on 2 hrs later got the rH down to 58% and the temperature to 23 Celsius by cranking up the A/C.

It is time to get some fresh water to the Big Bang auto. Using the knowledge I gained from the SCA’s & SMA’s I will lower the EC of this feeding compared to them at the exact same stage. I’m hoping this, combined with using lower EC nutes at transplant time into the 23 L pots, plus a little more run-off volume will result in lower run-off numbers than the BBA’s older cousins. I find that this is where keeping accurate data to refer back to really pays off! :)

28/06/13 – Main group is 36 days old

Still battling high temps and rH with 24 °C and 60% rH the low for their night time, but plant growth has exploded over the past week and the Super C’s and the Mangos want water after only 3 days, and the Northern Lights after 4 days. Wasn’t expecting to water until tomorrow but I won’t complain as hungry plants are healthy plants.

Watered the 5 bigger plants (SCA’s, SMA’s, and the NLA) with 8 L each

Mix X 2

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1.25 mL/L x 20 L = 16 mL ppm: 330

Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 2 mL/L x 16 L = 32 mL ppm : 20

Advanced Nutrients B-52 @ 1 mL/L x 16 L = 16 mL ppm: 100

DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.2 g/L x 16 L = 3.2 g

GHSC Mother’s Powderfeed @ 0.7 g/L x 16 L = 11 g ppm: 580

Potassium silicate @ 0.1 mL/L x 16 L = approx. 1.6 mL ppm: 50

20% Phosphoric acid (pH down)

Total EC: 1.5/ ppm: 1080 pH: 5.7 Temperature: 22°C

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1.25 mL/L x 8 L = 10 mL ppm: 330

Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 2 mL/L x 8 L = 16 mL ppm : 20

Advanced Nutrients B-52 @ 1 mL/L x 8 L = 8 mL ppm: 100

DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.2 g/L x 8 L = 1.6 g

GHSC Mother’s Powderfeed @ 0.7 g/L x 8 L = 5.5 g ppm: 580

Potassium silicate @ 0.1 mL/L x 16 L = approx. 1.6 mL

20% Phosphoric acid (pH down)

Total EC: 1.5/ ppm: 1030 pH: 5.7 Temperature: 22°C

Plant Run-off pH Run-off EC

SCA #1 & #2: 5.9 1.8

SMA #1 & #2: 5.8 1.9

** This time I removed the DNF Enhance from the mix and added B-52 now that it has been 2 weeks since flowering began. Advanced Nutrients does not recommend B-52 for the first 2 weeks of flowering as it is said to possibly inhibit the stretch.

Noticed a very cool anomaly today!! SMA#1 has a double stalk splitting into 2 buds as if she was topped, but wasn’t, with a 3rd leaf at the start of the double bud stem. They are like twin buds sharing that 3rd leaf

29/06/13

Day cycle temp over past 18 hrs maxed = 27.5°C rH = 52%

Night cycle temp min = 22.5°C rH = 57%

15 DAYS after transplant into 23 L pots and last watering the BBA finally gets water+food with 8 L of r/o water +

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 0.8 mL/L x 8 L = 6.5 mL ppm: 230

DNF Enhance pine oil @ 0.5 mL/L x 8 L = 4 mL ppm: 10

Advanced Nutrients B-52 @ 0.5 mL/L x 8 L = 4 mL ppm: 60

GHSC Mother’s Powderfeed @ 0.4 g/L x 8 L = 3 g ppm: 330

Potassium silicate @ 0.0625 mL/L x 8 L = approx. 0.5 mL ppm: 40

20% Phosphoric acid (pH down) = approx. 1.0 mL

Total ppm: 670 pH: 5.6 Temperature: 20°C

Run-off – EC/ppm = 1.5/1040 pH = 6.2

**Judging by the run-off numbers the BBA was treated much more kindly with nutes than the first 5 plants. If you look back the first group of 5 had run-off EC #’s around 2.2 – 2.4, although there is still room for improvement I think.

Also, waiting 15 days from transplant into the 23L pots to water again may seem like a really long time but it seems to have worked well and hopefully it has enabled greater root growth than if I would have watered after only 12 days like the last group.

30/06/2013 – Big Bang Auto now 23 days old

Big Bang auto plant is definitely a lady!! I thought I could see tiny hairs yesterday and today confirms it :)

01/07/2013

Day cycle temp over past 18 hrs maxed = 27°C rH = 45 %

Night cycle temp min = 22°C rH = 53%

Trichome production really started not very long ago, maybe 4 days, but already the Super C auto’s are REALLY picking up the production pace along with the smell.

I’ve had to raise the lights a notch every couple of days as vertical growth has continued to be rapid.

Did some bottom trimming, not too much, just to clean up a little and get rid of tiny buds too far from the light that will not mature. I am trying to restrict defoliation a little more than my last grow as I feel I may have done a little too much and I want to experiment with different practices.

02/07/2013

I’ve noticed a big growth spurt in the buds over the past couple of days, especially the Super Critical autos, but all around in general. Also the Big Bang auto has lived up to her name and exploded with growth since her last watering. I have her propped up on a pail so that she is about 60 cm from the 600 W and in between 2 LED’s (so getting indirect LED light), and have rotated her a day on, a day off to get her used to so much light but I think I will probably leave her propped up now until she is a little taller then I will find a shorter “stool” for her to sit on :)

Watered the 2 SMA’s and the 2 SCA’s w/ 8 L each r/o water +

Mix x2

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1.05 mL/L x 16 L = 17 mL ppm: 270

*DNF Gold Formula @ 2 mL/L x 16 = 32 mL ppm: 40

Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 1 mL/L x 16 L = 16 mL ppm : 30

DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.2 g/L x 16 L = 3.2 g

GHSC Mother’s Powderfeed @ 0.7 g/L x 16 L = 11.2 g ppm: 610

Potassium silicate @ 0.1 mL/L x 16 L = approx. 1.6 mL ppm: 40

SCA #1 5.8 1.7

SCA #2 5.8 2.1

SMA #1 5.9 1.7

SMA #2 5.8 1.9

* The DNF Gold is a fulvic acid based formula that I have used in past grows and want to use it up before it’s shelf life is up. It is not a strong concentrated formula, and I’m using it at about ½ strength for soiless medium. It is something that I DON’T believe is necessary right now, and I won’t buy it again, but it should/could be beneficial and I would prefer not to let it go to waste.

SCA# 2 run-off EC is getting a little high and it has been 3 decent feedings in a row at around 1.5 EC so I think I will give them a break and go with a much lower EC next water to rinse out any built up nutrient salts in the root zone a little.

03/07/2013 – Main group 41 days old & Big Bang auto is 26 days old

Thank you everyone VERY much for looking at my grow and for the encouragement!! Much love and respect :):hi:

really nice man I have got to start doing scrog like you gives the buds loads of light witch we no they love and you have got a point about keeping notes its not a good idea really were I live but so handy any really nice grow peace to you

I guess that is a benefit to growing legally is being able to keep notes without worrying about them being used as evidence..hadn't really thought of that until now, and it really sucks. Can you imagine if all the money and effort that goes into criminalizing cannabis was put into research and growing it?? When is the world gonna wake up? :P Give scrogging a go if you think you might enjoy it..it can be fun if you like being hands on and it definitely can boost yield. Thanks for stoppin by nicc!

high Smokey, gret Journal , thnaks for all that informations , will help a lot of grower to get them in such a good shape as yours are ;)

really beautiefull green , bushhy ladies... looks like a promising grow to me .

I take a sit and wathc the show, can´t wait to see them in full Flower.

best wishes and Regards

PencilJoe

Hey PencilJoe! Thanks for the nice words :) I'm really finding that I'm able to learn from my past mistakes and grows keeping a record of everything, so it makes me happy to know others maybe can also use the info to not make the same mistakes I've made and help avoid problems  Not long till full flower now..these autos are FAST!

hi,

I love the form that took one of the sweet, i follow it !!! PEACE

Hi miminexus, nice to see you :) ya I only took pictures of the one mango, forgot the other somehow :P Both are almost as wide as they are tall and are definitely the fullest bushiest plants I have grown to date..thanks for stopping by!

Very good plants, keep up the good job!! thanks to share ;)

Thanks Mr.X and your very welcome :) It is always nice to see you!!

Now where is the drill and string?

Hahaha ahh Gaz, I knew you were gonna be a little disappointed and I'm sorry but I am running out of room VERY quickly in the tent and barely have room now for the LST'd plants as it is..I don't know what I am going to do if the spread out anymore :P I had started to tie the Sweet mangos a little but had to stop..just no room :fie: . So my friend I am sorry you will have to be content to see the results of the Super Critical autos. I think I could probably easily fill that tent with only 4 LST'd plants (something I would like to try) and I can only imagine what the mangos would have looked like had I bent the mainstem over at a 90 degree angle from the start like the SCA's.

Smokey what a beautiful plants!!! and compliments for all the details that you provide to us in your journals!! Really, must be a long job and you do it very well!! filled of useful tips.... when I joined the forum your reports help me a lot... thanks again and gook luck for the Cup!!

laocoo, thank you for one of the nicest compliments you could have given, it makes me very happy know that my reports help others :sungum:, and if it wasn't for all of the super friendly, super helpful growers on this forum that helped me when I started out growing about 1.5 years ago I wouldn't have learned enough to help myself or anyone else. I hope I made it clear enough when I made mistakes, especially in my first couple grows, there were many!! It worries me that someone might try following one of my journals and not realize that I screwed up somewhere :P If you have any questions please ask :)

Proper grow my friend!!! This is how we do it!!! I got hooked just like your plants!!!

Peace!

Hahaha, thanks Levente, I wish I had more room to do some more "hooking" lol. I'm happy you enjoy them thank you very much for the compliments!!

HELLO FRIENDS!! 48 DAYS FROM SEED MAIN GROUP, 33 DAYS FROM SEED BIG BANG AUTO UPDATE

Thank you everyone for your generous comments and for continuing to follow my 2nd attempt at autofIowers, it is nice that others appreciate the ladies and the work that goes into them as well :bb: I apologize for being 2 days late with my update this week :( The pictures are from 2 days ago and the journal entries end there as well, it has been a really busy week and I just did not find time to sort and decide which pics to include. I’ve also just taken a picture of the group two days later, it is the last picture of group pictures :P I’ve re-arranged the tent into what I think will have to be their permanent positions because it is like a puzzle getting them all into there without harming them and also I wanted to show just how quickly these incredible genetics are growing :) It might be good to mention only the Big bang seed was a new one, the others were from my last auto grow that was started about 10 months ago, so I am not sure if these are newer or older genetics, either way I don’t think I could be much happier with them!! Flushing time will be upon them in no time at all and it’s a good thing because my Trainwreck and Super Lemon Haze from last grow is pulling a disappearing act faster than you can say Chris Angel!

As always here are this week’s journal entries and the pictures. To see the names of the plants please scroll over the pics and have a great baked outta your mind weekend!!

Peace

05/07/13 - Main group is 42 days from seed - Big Bang auto is 27 days old

The SCA#1 & SMA#2 plants are both the strongest and both are asking for water a day earlier than their sister plants that were watered together 3 days ago. Although their run-off EC numbers are not overly high, it has been 3 decent feedings in a row and I am going to drop the concentration significantly to help rinse out/prevent excess salt build-up in the root zone.

Watered SCA#1 & SMA#2 each with 8 liters r/o water +

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1.25 mL/L x 16 L = 20 mL ppm: 310

Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 1 mL/L x 16 L = 16 mL ppm : 20

DNF Enhance pine oil @ 1 mL/L x 16 L = 16 mL ppm: 30

DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.2 g/L x 16 L = 3.2 g

GHSC Mother’s Powderfeed @ 0.3 g/L x 16 L = 5 g ppm: 250

Potassium silicate @ 0.1 mL/L x 16 L = approx. 1.6 mL ppm: 30

20% Phosphoric acid (pH down)

Total EC: 0.9/ppm: 640 pH: 5.7 Temperature: 23°C

Plant Run-off pH Run-off EC/ppm

SCA #1 5.6 1.6/1140

SMA #2 5.8 1.6/1160

** They definitely needed a rinse and I could have gone with an even lower feed EC, AND more water. When I water the other plants I will remember this and adjust the feed water EC a little lower, maybe 0.7, and add at least another 2 L of water/ plant. I will see how these ones respond by tomorrow. Also thinking a feed EC of 1.5 may be a little high for my set-up and will try to keep it no higher than 1.4 to see if this help reduce salt build up.

Changed CO2 producing pad.

Thoughts on flushing - After spending time going over areas I would like to improve on most I have decided to really work on flushing. In the past, I have had certain plants that while not horrible, did not burn as well and I do not think were flushed as well as the others. I have come to the conclusion that two of the best ways I can remedy this are:

  1. always monitor run-off EC and adjust feedings/rinsing/flushing accordingly so that leftover salt levels don’t get out of control in the root zone and Made a decision to use tap water during flushing as well as r/o water to increase the volume of flushing water I can put through and therefore increasing its effectiveness for a cleaner end result – This I have been doing for the entire grow this time and it has really helped to understand the plants needs and what is happening to the ladies “down there”, in the root zone. No one wants their ladies to be anything less than clean and perfect “down there” if possible lol.
  2. The second way I think this can be achieved is by getting a larger volume of water through the plants at flush time. Since I normally use r/o water when it comes time to flushing that I obtain in 18L bottles this requires carrying a LOT of bottles and trips to the water store. Right now I currently have seven, 18L bottles and my wife swears that if I come home with one more me and the bottles will be on the front lawn! She didn’t really say that, but her look said it all lol. So to make another long story short, I am going to try incorporating tap water into the flushing by starting first by flushing each plant with 20 – 40 L of tap water (haven’t decided yet, although I think the grow medium is porous enough and has lots of drainage to do the 40 L) then I will run 18 L of r/o + the DNF Clear flushing solution through. For a total of about 2 – 3 x the amount of water as grow medium as recommended by Arjan and Franco. This should help achieve a consistently well flushed and clean product.

I thought maybe since she was using most of her nutes so far that I could get away with one more feed before a rinse but I was wrong. I THINK I NEED TO FOLLOW A 2 FEED/1 LOWER EC RINSE SCHEDULE OF WATERING ONCE THEY ARE INTO FLOWER.

TOO HOT AND TOO HUMID :P

09/07/13

When I opened the tent today the smell that hit me is one of my favorite general smells that I notice when indica dominant hybrids are flowering in the tent..a kind of spicy coffee/roasted coffee beans. I love that smell :) Still fighting high temperatures and humidity as well as the crack in the corner of the basement and the ensuing flooding whenever it rains too hard for too long, and man it has been RAINING!! I noticed that the absorbent floor dry that I had poured into the corner to deal with the leak had become over saturated with water and literally caught the water from reaching the tent by about 10 cm. Super lucky..thank you ganja gods! I shovelled it all up and dragged it to the garage in a super heavy duty garbage bag and poured a new bag of floor dry down. Unfortunately I am going to have to shut down the grow room after this grow is done so that I can have people come in and fix the crack before it gets worse, which it will! :P

I’m also selling the smallish 8000 BTU air conditioning unit that I recently purchased to cool the level with the grow tent off and have ordered a 14,000 BTU unit that I found on sale in order to properly cool and dehumidify the grow level. The little one was running 24/7 on high and still the tent has been hitting highs of 28 °C. This isn’t too bad since the outdoors high has been in the upper 30’s with the humidity..it’s friggin gross. I wouldn’t mind that so much if they were in vegetative growth but I feel that is too high of a temperature for flowering and would prefer it to max out at 25 – 26. Of course the A/C unit is scheduled to arrive on the same day the heat wave is supposed to finally let up :P At least I will have a proper one for future heat/humidity waves.

Broke off a lower NLA branch by accident when moving the plants around :( Not a huge deal btu I need to be careful.

10/07/2013 - Main group 48 days old & Big Bang auto is 33 days old

The main group of plants has been flowering now for about 4 weeks, and the Big Bang auto showed her sex 10 days ago now. If everything is on schedule and goes to GHSC indicated flowering times the Super Critical & Sweet Mango autos should have approximately 3 weeks longer before harvest, the Northern Lights auto another 4 weeks, and the Big Bang auto another 4.5 weeks. This is good as the harvest needs to be spaced out a little so that I have time to trim them while still working full-time.

The Big Bang auto has really stretched and caught up to and surpassed all of the older plants except the NLA. If I had more room she would have been a perfect plant to LST, but it will be nice to have a giant (hopefully!) main cola too.

SCA #1 is shorter, yet has noticeably larger and advanced (noticing a few turning hairs here and there) buds than her sister SCA #2 as well as more resin development. I imagine she might finish a little bit earlier than her sister.

I had to tie a few of the outer/lower SMA branches to the branches above them to reduce the plant canopy’s surface area a little without crowding which both gets the buds closer to the light and helps to fit them together in the tent without invading each other’s space too much and breaking branches.

Noticed a few hairs on the Super Criticals are just starting to turn, mostly on Super C. #1, the most vigorous of the 2 SCA’s and probably my favorite plant so far.

Awesome update man :)

Savage foot injury dude. I had a similar incident where I had ripped up the carpet to avoid mold issues and there was a nail sticking out, I also pivoted on my heel and tore it up, lol :) I understand the pain of hobbling around the grow room for a week, I feel for you dude ;)

Your plants are looking awesome, immense sidebranching on them all :) The two phenos of SMAs are visible, sativa dominant and the indica Afghani looking one ;) Very intense smell on my sativa one :) Keep up the good work with those ladies :)

Also, enjoy the Trainwreck hash, will be intense im sure :) I am smoking some Sweet Mango ISO Hash :)

Thank you very much everyone for your viewing this journal, and your kind words of encouragement!! It should not take me this long to reply, I apologize and will try to be quicker in the future.

Hey man,

It's going really nicely by there, you can expect something nice with the size of your pots.

As what I can see from the pictures you will have to invest in safety shoes lol :D

Nice work bro.

-Peace.

Hi Ghost, thanks for the advice and kind words, I never thought I would need safety shoes in the grow room :P I was hoping to push things with the bigger pots, I will have to see what the root balls look like after to make a judgement call whether the 23 L pots were worth it. They are eating every 3 - 4 days so I think they are happy :)

beautiufl girls man! i like ver much the shape they have nice and bushy with a good amount of tops and not too high :D you did a good job on them :)

Have a good grow man watch out for your foot next time haha ;)

Thanks Dust, I am happy with the bushy ladies..although I usually prefer when they shave :P It is interesting to see the Big Bang stretching above the rest now, she is at about 95 cm tall from soiless and much more lanky than the rest..almost sativa like. I wonder if that would be the skunk or northern lights genetics maybe? I dunno..not the best at determining genetic origin yet :P

hi,

nice uptate !!!very pretty picture of the trunk good continious!!!!!

Peace

Happy to see you Mimi, and happy you liked it. I will try and remember to take a picture of the Super critical trunks, near the bottom they got really big from bending and tying the main trunks.

They are going to be huge, great work as always. Can't wait to see these finish.

Thanks Gaz, I can't wait either..especially since the SLH and Trainwreck are running out quicker than anticipated :P

Thanks Gonzo!! Man Sweet Mango ISO sounds tasty and potent I'm sure too:) Ow shit man..carpet nail huh..I can but don't want to picture it..that sounds worse than my injury! The sidebranching has become a blessing and a curse! It is very difficult to find room for all of them and moving them at all is a very delicate task so that no one gets hurt :P Tonight I am putting my foot down (watching for trimmers this time of course!) and doing some leaf and maybe lower/lesser bud removal if necessary on some plants to allow more light penetration, reduce humidity a little, increase air circulation, and focus energy on bud development. I will post pictures of the before and after results..we will see how brave I get! As for the 2 phenos, the indica/afghani one is getting very interesting, especially the main cola from the top..she is a bit leafy, but that's ok as bud development isn't suffering and I will use trimmings for bubble bag hash.

yeah bro the plant's are looking really nice i reall wanna try that sweet mango it look's like quite a plant.

Bro you gotta give the sweet mango a go, both growing it and the results are A+. I'd also recommend the Super critical autos, they produce really resinous, potent, great tasting/smelling buds as well. The high is a little more indica like and great for pain. Thanks for stopping by man!

PEACE

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 57 days from seed (BBA: 42 days from seed) - THE HEAT WAVE IS FINALLY OVER!!

Hello all ganja lovers! I want to say thank you very much to everyone for checking things out and for the good vibes..much appreciated!! The heat wave is finally over and the plants seem to have survived it without any apparent issues. Very strong genetics!!

The main group of 5 plants are now at about 57 days from seed, and a little over 5 weeks into flowering. Flushing begins very soon starting with the Super Critical auto #1 plant tonight getting a total of about 60 liters of water, and the other 7 week plants will follow soon.

The Big Bang auto is now 42 days old, and she is the biggest and probably best grown plant out of them as I did a few key things when preparing her medium that were modified based on my results with the main group. It will be interesting to see if she turns into the biggest yielder as well. One thing was when combining the Pro-mix HP and the Grodan rockwool chunks I learned to mix the dry Pro mix into the pre-saoked rockwool cubes, then water to drain. This keeps the Promix from compacting together like when I would water the Pro-mix then mix it in and around the growchunks. All the mixing lead to a much more compacted and less airy medium. The second main thing I did different was to go a lot lighter on the nutrients at the beginning realizing that they really don’t need much to start and that the Pro-mix is a little too hot to prepare it with too high of a nutrient EC.

Ok so the rest of the story is in the journal entries and the pictures..please scroll over them for the names of the plants. I apologize that I did not take any plants out this time for pics but that is getting very very difficult to move them much at all :P I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and week & for the fellas.. may all your week be green and stinky, and all your women sexy and slinky!

PEACE!

14/07/2013

Day cycle temp over past 18 hrs maxed = 29.3°C rH = 60 %

Night cycle temp min = 25 °C rH = 55%

These conditions are too hot and humid for this stage of flowering so I had to make some adjustments to my set-up which have allowed me to get the small air conditioning unit right into the grow room. This was accomplished using a 5 meter, 14 gauge extension cord specific for A/C units, and by extending the A/C unit’s exhaust hose so that it goes from the tent room to the window about 5 meters away. I also moved the de-humidifier about 3 meters outside of the tent room with a fan blowing the warm air it produces away from the room entrance. So far in just a few hours this has dropped the tent temperature by a couple of degrees Celsius as well as the humidity by about 4 % so far. My goal is to get the rH to around 45 – 50% and the temperature to around 26 degrees maximum lights on, and 22 minimum lights off, we will see what happens over the next 24 hrs but so far the outlook is promising!

Lighter feed for these two as they are super green and lush. Next water will be a 0.7 EC rinse.

It is the SMA#2 & SCA#1’s 3rd watering since last rinse so time to give them a much lower EC rinse to ensure that salts do not build up and allow for a better final flush. This will be the Big Bang auto’s first rinse with an EC of 0.7, and will be followed by a fairly high EC next water once she is well dried out and hungry!

I am going to guess it went in at around 6.4 – 6.8 but it is tough to say. I hope this does not hurt her. I need to be more careful in the future.

15/07/2013

Did fairly large leaf removal and took some lower lesser buds off as well. They are getting too bushy and I need to keep the rH down, to allow light to the lower buds and air to move through the canopy, and to try and help fit them in the tent better which is still very difficult.

Temperature and relative humidity have improved by moving the A/C unit into the room but with another heat wave it runs 24/7 and barely keeps up. For the most part the temperature at the canopy averages about 27.5 degrees lights on and at the base of the plants it is about 1 – 1.5 degree less than the canopy

Day cycle temp over past 18 hrs maximum = 28 °C – taken @ hottest point in tent just above canopy .

Night cycle temp min = 23.5 °C

rH range = 48 – 58 %

16/07/13- Main group is 54 days old from seed – BBA is 39 days old

I had to take all of them all out and re-arrange them again so that the BBA that is now 97 cm tall was furthest from the light. She is a beast! Everytime I do this it takes about 1 – 1.5 hrs just to get everything placed just right. A definite labor of love.

The BBA auto does not appear to have suffered from my pH mistake. Luckily it was towards the neutral end of the range, if it was the other way she may have suffered.

The Northern lights auto is looking healthy but with some leaves already turning fairly pale green for this stage since I rinsed her with a low E, and she takes 1 week longer for flowering so I am going to feed her at a relatively high EC and the full arsenal of nutrients and hopefully she should respond nicely.

Summer growing indoors definitely requires a lot of extra attention whether it’s emptying the dehumidifier 3 x/day or cooling water :P Today and yesterday was about 42 degrees Celsius outdoors with the humidity. Tomorrow and Friday are supposed to be the same before the heat wave finally lets up. It has been so hot that I have to put the large 17 L pails of water that I use to mix nutes into the deep freezer for about 30 minutes each to cool to the proper temperature range of 18 – 22 °C. Summer growing indoors definitely requires a lot of extra attention whether it’s emptying the dehumidifier 3 x/day or cooling water :P

The Super Critical auto #1 plant is ripening very quickly with lots of turning and drawn in pistils and resin building. I checked the trichomes with the 30 – 60x micro and there are already a decent amount of cloudy trichs with even a few amber ones. It has been 55 days from seed for her and she showed sex @ 17 days. So it has been 38 days of flowering leaving 11 days left until the 7 week flowering mark if you count from the day pistils appeared, or 15 if you count from the 3 week growth mark. She was rinsed last watering @ 0.7 EC, and I was considering flushing her today, but I think I will give her one more feed at a moderate EC then I will flush with 3 x the volume of water as the plant pot (about 60 L) in 3 days @ next watering with harvest planned for 12 – 14 days after.

The other 3 plants that are “7 week flowering” plants all are just a little behind SCA#1 and can be fed a moderate to normal feed at least once more I think as well and may need 2 in total before flush.

The Northern Lights auto is an “8 week flowering” plant and is starting to show a few turned hairs but has awhile to go before worrying about flushing.

The SCA#2 that normally gets watered every 4 days with the SMA#1 plant is still a little heavy and she can go an extra day before water.

Added a small fan below the canopy for more air movement so that stale air and humidity is reduced even more. I’m also concerned because the two sweet mango colas are about as big around as pop/beer cans! I will take comparison pictures for the weekly update tomorrow.

Again raised the 600 W HPS to reduce the intensity with the higher temperatures. It is said that overly high temperatures damage resin glands and inhibit resin production so I want to reduce this risk as much as possible. It is still about 55 – 60 cm from most bud tops.

Leaf removal is done daily now to try and keep air movement flowing, not shade buds, and make room.

Sure it won't be long before they are at 1'5 litre size. Should really see them super size weeks 5~7 of flowering stage. Since I tried the critical a couple of months back, been meaning to order some seeds. Great smoke live the flavour. Keep up the good work

Hope you are right bout that lol..and I agree bro..the Super C. auto was my favorite smelling and tasting auto..and potent as hell..never guess it was an auto unless someone told ya :P:) Get your hands on a few and give them a go you will be very happy with the results!

Wow smokey, your plants look awesome as usual.

Respect.

Thanks Fran!! It is always very nice to see you stop by and hear your words of encouragement

28/07/2013 - Main group of 5 plants are @ 66 days from seed & Big Bang auto is 51 days from seed

WEEKLY UPDATE!! Hello Hunters!! It was a very busy birthday weekend full of as much toking/vaping as could be crammed in and more than a few beverages!! Luckily I kept it together enough to water and pay proper attention to the ladies – just because I want to party it does not mean I can neglect them! I am finally able to get a weekly update finished (late I apologize :(..not cool) to show you just how quickly these ladies are maturing and getting close to harvest which should be starting in the next 6 – 7 days with the Super Critical auto plant#1 starting things off.

Last night was a rare occasion when I got a break from watering the ladies! I used the time to take pictures for the update at least, even if I did not get the post finished as well as doing a fairly large defoliation again :P This week for a change I wanted to catch some pictures for you with just the LED’s on when they first wake up as well as with both the HPS and LED’s combined. I hope you enjoy the contrast!

Please scroll over the pictures for the names of the plants and feel free to comment, make suggestions or ask any questions. I know there are a ton of pictures, and if anyone feels I should maybe cut back or make them a little smaller so that computers don’t lag please let me know, I'm trying to maintain decent resolution for detail but I’m open to suggestions :) Here are this weeks journal entries as well.

Have a wonderful, green & peaceful week!

22/07/2013

24 hours after her flush SCA#1 looks great. There is lots of resin building quickly and heavily on her as well as on the other 7 week plants. SCA#2 may be a little behind in maturity than her sister but she is packing on the weight very quickly with some nice fox-tailing happening and looks like she will have a fair bit heavier yield than her sister. I checked her trichomes and I will give her one more moderate EC feed tomorrow then most likely flush her next water.

I will give SMA#1 & SMA#2 one more moderate strength feed and then decide whether to flush them the next water or not. Both are getting frosty quickly, especially SMA#2 who seems to be maturing just a little bit quicker than her sister.

The BBA plant continues to dominate the canopy height-wise in the tent and luckily she isn’t too leafy and seems content to squeeze in the back corner for now. It will be nice when I harvest SCA#1 and make a little more room for the rest of them. I don’t think I will do more than 5 autos in the tent in 23 L pots in the future.

23/07/2013 – Main group is 61 days from seed – Big Bang A. is 46 days old from seed

After checking trichomes last night I am going to give SCA#2 one more very light feed/rinse ( light since she is very green still) before giving her a full flushing next water with plans to harvest in about 14 days which will have given her a little over 8 weeks flowering time to ripen to her fullest potential. She still has quite a few clear trichomes, is growing new calyxes rapidly and I don’t want to flush too soon.

SMA#2 has exploded with resin production in the past 2-3 days. It is amazing how quickly these autos all of the sudden pack it on.

Rinsed SCA#2 & BBA each with 10 L r/o water +

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1 mL/L x 10 L = 10 mL ppm: 280

Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 1.5 mL/L x 10 L = 15 mL ppm: 20

SCA #2 6.0 1.35/950

BBA 5.9 1.64/1150

Prepared flush water for SMA#2: 30 L tap water left out to dissipate chlorine.

24/07/2013

Added 10 L tap water to 77L pail to dissipate chlorine overnight. Water will be used + 10 L r/o water to continue flushing SCA#1.

Smells are getting REALLY strong and are actually starting to overpower the carbon filter a little!

Continued with leaf removal when necessary to allow light to penetrate to buds better and make room. Fingers were REALLY sticky and the smell is amazing, especially the SCA’s, WOW! They have a very strong, very complex with a flowery yet dank skunky smell that is powerful and intoxicating. Honestly makes me say “WOW” out loud when it’s on my fingers. The SMA’s are very fruity and skunky at the same time. The smell reminds me a little of Skunk#1, but with a fruity smell that another grower described as a “mango soda” like smell that I have to agree with! The NLA is a fruity/spicy girl. I have to say that these ladies are much more intense in smell than my first auto crop :)

The BBA plant is really trying to dominate the one side of the tent and I may have to tie her main cola to the tent support to keep her from looming over the nearby plants, what a monster she is!

Outdoor temperature and rH have dropped dramatically and things have finally cooled off. Although peak temperature at the hottest point in the tent was 27°C, it was 26°C at the base of the plants. These are much better conditions for flowering. I also switched a few things around so that I could plug the A/C unit into a closer plug and have managed to get it closer to the tent also improving conditions. Still using the 8000 BTU unit, have so far held off on getting bigger unit.

Environment:

Day cycle temp over past 18 hrs maxed = 27°C

Night cycle temp min = 23°C

rH range: min = 42%

max= 51 %

25/07/2013 – Main group of 5 plants are @ 63 days from seed and the beginning of the end (flushing) continues!

After checking the trichomes on SMA#2 and seeing plenty of milky resin glands (approximately 30%), and lots of turning hairs and swelling calyxes I decided to flush her. If she was a regular non-auto photo plant I would probably give her one more water but these autos mature super-fast and I’m not worried about pushing them too long to try and get more yield as they are already getting decently heavy buds.

63 days after sprouting, flushed the Super Mango auto #2 plant with 30 L tap water @

ppm:330

pH: 6.0

Temperature: 21 ° C.

The water was left out for 48 hrs to ensure chlorine dissipated.

She was then flushed with an additional 15 L r/o water +

*Dutch Nutrient Formula Clear @ 5 mL/L x 15 L = 75 mL ppm: 520

pH: 6.2 Temperature: 21°C

Plant Run-off pH Run-off EC/ppm

SMA #2 6.2 0.44/ 310

Surprisingly to me, even after a flush of over 2 x the volume of soiless medium and 4 days later SCA#1 still remains very green and is just starting to fade it seems. This is why I wanted to make sure that I started the flush with plenty of time for them to finish (estimating 2 weeks harvest from the first big flush) and get not only all the nutrients out of the root zone but to get as much green (chlorophyll) out of the buds for the smoothest smoke/vape possible.

Gave the Super Critical auto #1 plant 10 L of tap water @

ppm:330

pH: 6.0

Temperature: 21 ° C.

The water was left out for 48 hrs to ensure chlorine dissipated.

She then got another 10 L of plain r/o water with 100 ppm. Just enough tap water added for the pH meter to read properly.

damn man everytime i click on your journal i know i'll have some good porn for my eyes :D

Great pictures of great plant as usual!

Have a good grow man keep us updated ;)

Thanks Dust, it is nice to know you can count on me! haha :)

I know I just posted an update but since the first plant is going to be harvested in a couple of days and is ripening nicely I wanted to share a few pictures of her as she finishes off and changes color a little as the chlorophyll is used up by the plant and it fades. Here is a sneak peak of the Super Critical #1 plant 2 days before chop :)

Peace

Thanks bro!! I got lucky with the angle of those bud shots and the LED lit it up nicely, probably couldn't do the same shot again if I tried! :P:) Growing has made photography more interesting than ever!

I'm with Dust great work, always got that room crammed with frosty nuggets come flowering time.

Hi Gaz, thanks bro, what I like most is that if someone did not know different they would never guess they were autoflowers  When I grew the first crop of them I was afraid I would not see much resin production and damn these GHSC autos have laid my doubts to rest!! I would love to know what these strains are testing at now for cannabinoids, I bet they are close to reg photo strains...maybe not all seed breeders autos tho :P lol

Peace friends :)
