20/08/13 – MORE PLANTS HARVESTED & WEEKLY

All main group plants have now been harvested, with 2 x Super Critical auto in jars, 1 x Sweet Mango auto in jars. The large cola’d Sweet Mango auto #1 plant is hanging in the dry room beside the Northern Lights auto plant, and the pictures in this update are of those two plants.

Yield is in for Super Critical auto #1 plant harvested 16 days ago and yield and early smoke/vape report. With pretty much all stem cut from the buds now she weighed in at 71 grams, not a record breaker but decent. Her root mass was the smallest so far out of the bunch and I think I misread her with a little too much water when she was at the main root development stage which made her a little lazy which affected yield.

For fresh weed quality is very nice though and flushing went well with joints burning right to the end and a nice smooth smoke for this early into curing. Smoking her, the flavor right now (still early!) is kind of diesel with a slightly sweet fruit background. The taste left in my mouth after finishing a joint is actually a little bit sweet with very little burnt taste at all!! She isn’t as strong smelling as her sister SCA#2 but when you crush up a nug it gets pretty complex (one of the more complex strains I’ve tried) with a strong mixture of sweet & sour fruit/diesel fuel with that sea salt background that most phenos seem to develop. I’ve only gotten into the lower buds so far, as I never touch the main and upper buds until at least a month into curing. Vaping her in the Volcano leads to multiple thick vapor filled bags that taste similar to the smell but it still has a little “green” flavor and will get better with time. Potency is already excellent and my wife put it best today when she texted me to let me know her stomach had been hurting but she had a little SCA#1 which totally cured it, but that she now needed a nap as well! She’s a little more lightweight than I. It makes me extremely happy to know that I can grow something that can medically help someone in pain…or totally f*ck them up recreationally..either or gives me massive smiles For me it takes a lot to hit me hard, and this stuff already packs a strong punch and I can’t wait for another couple weeks/months in the jars. She was harvested early enough (on purpose) to be able to use her during the day and while I can hit her in the morning and not go right back to bed she is definitely not a sativa, but has just enough sativa in her to allow me to not couch lock (a LARGE coffee helps with this lol) and start my day pain free and feeling wonderful And even though not allowed to really go long enough for true indica effect, once I am tired and ready for bed at night she does the trick nicely and helps with getting a better sleep. Overall she turned out very nice for a slightly early harvest – if I had not been running low on medicine I would say one more week would have really matured her just that little bit extra, luckily I let her sister ripen a little more and I will try her soon!

BIG BANG AUTO UPDATE @ 74 days from seed - The Big Bang auto plant is all alone now in the flowering tent and basking in the full attention of all of the available light. She has been putting on weight nicely but I am even more impressed with her resin production, she is super sparkly like diamonds!! Her aroma is also enticing with a very noticeable fruity smell. She will take a little longer than the 6 week listed flowering time. I think this may be because she is a sativa like phenol? I’m not sure if one even exists for this plant but she is tall for an auto @ 103 cm tall! She is not bushy or leafy at all, yet she is very strong, and her fan leaves are very thin and finger like. She also took a little longer than expected to really start into full flowering, but I am hoping she will be “saving the best for last” I’m going to take a leaf sample and check her trichomes under LED microscope and am anticipating that flushing will occur either next water, or the one after that but only time and she will tell!

SO!! There are still many more updates with tons of pictures coming in the near future of the only remaining plant, the Big Bang auto, as well as some curing/dried bud porn updates with more yields, smoke/vape reports, and did I mention BUD PORN I also plan on doing at least one bubble hash making post with the trim from probably the Sweet Mango plants first

16/08/13 – Harvest day for Northern Lights auto and Sweet Mango auto #1

I think it’s still a little early to flush the Big Bang auto plant, so I’m gonna give her a feed but I’m going to ease up on the total feed strength for any remaining feeds for the end of the BBA’s flowering as her leaves are super green and I want to start winding her down for flushing which I now am thinking will be next water or the one after maybe even. She still has some time to go it seems as she has tons of white hairs and clear resin glands still, which is fine as I already have 5 outta 6 harvested now and can wait as long as it takes. She is the only plant left and has full attention with all 4 LEDs focussed on her plus the HPS and I gotta say she is super frosty already!! I’m really looking forward to finishing this one

It is interesting to see the rH drop by about 5% instantly when I removed the 2 plants for harvest. They are really nicely faded and got some nice colors on the SMA#1 cola. I removed the larger and easier to remove leaves and split the plants into individual stalks and hung them to dry. Unfortunately I have unexpected family matters to attend to and can’t begin trimming right away, but as long as conditions and air movement are good I think they will be fine, maybe even better by slowing drying a little.

Before I reply to everyone's generous comments I really have to let medical users know about the Super Critical auto. One of the medical reason I use weed is that I have fibromyalgia, and one of the symptoms that I've been having a hard time with lately is costochondritis, basically inflammation and pain of the connective tissue surrounding the rib cage which at its worst makes every move, including breathing, painful. It f*ckin sucks donkey balls to put it mildly The Super critical auto totally demos the pain to the point where I don't even notice it!!! :biggrin: and within a matter of about 10 minutes. Like seriously, anyone who has felt this knows how amazing that is and the ability to continue to function productively as opposed to curled up in bed in pain is insanely positive Again, thank you GHSC for producing a strain that is so incredibly fast/potent/easy to grow/excellent at removing pain. Oh and did I mention before bed it's "goodnight Irene" ?? lol.

Hi Dust..brother you remind me of ..lol. In the same way it is impossible for Santa to deliver all of those presents around the world, it seems impossible for you to be in so many journals in the 24 hrs in a day!!!!!! And to top that you are not imaginary!! lol..thanks man for your dedication and hard work to this community, much respect! Like I said above to Mr. Green about the colors, the lights started to bring the colors out, and I've noticed that where the LED is most concentrated + the HPS, the leaves and buds turn color the most..BUT..colors like these did not appear until the Powderfeed was added. AND for your pleasure, partly, lol, I've pretty much decided next grow after this will be another auto grow, but this time an ONLY PF grow as I mentioned above It is time to test what can be done with it alone under my grow room conditions.

About the 71 g's, there is also a decent amount of fresh frozen, resin coated, bud-leaf trim waiting to be made into hash from her (as well as each plant) waiting to be made into bubble hash this weekend

I must be brief as there are things that must be dealt with around the house unfortunately, and I have not had much tim. But, I've cut the Super Critical#2 buds right down to minimum stem, weighed and jarred them for long term curing and she gave a nice fully dry yield of 89.6 grams.

So for the two SCA plants a total of about 160 grams. So far I'm happy although I think I can do better still next time with what I've learned this grow

I would love to have a room with one (or maybe two lol) every GHSC auto strain..one room with 1 of every GHSC sativa strain..and one room with 1 of every GHSC indica strain. I total pipe dream right now but a damn nice imaginary picture lol.

27/08/13 - SMA#2 Yield report

WEIGHED on 26/08/13, sixteen days after chop: 107.8 g + 10.5 g’s (used prior to weigh-in) Total yield = 118 grams (or just over a ¼ lb)

I’m very happy with this yield, hard to believe she was an auto, and I'm not talking just in yield, she is so far my favorite harvested plant I think.

[TOTAL YIELD SO FAR FOR 3 PLANTS (2 X SCA, 1 X SMA) = 278 grams]

Here is an early vape/smoke report as it has only been 16 days since harvesting her PLEASE remember these are my experiences and yours could differ from mine

APPEARANCE: Very to super dense, tight, mainly roundish indica style buds with some decent sized primary colas. The main cola cut up to where she all joined together weighed 10.8 grams. I also want to note that even though very dry and completely smokable it is very tacky and sticks to the scissors when cut up. I don’t dare try it in the hand grinder even.

SMELL: Just like her name, sweet mango, then a more powerful candied mango/cirtus smell once chopped up and man it fills the house quickly!! One of the coolest smelling strains I’ve smelt, and far better than the 1^st SMA’s I grew. I’m really looking forward to her once she cures even a month or so, of course longer will be even better and I will try and save her as she is my favorite plant so far.

TASTE & Smoke/vapability: Vaping in the volcano brings out maximum taste right now and is completely smooth even on the last run of the bowl at the highest temperature I use – it is sort of tropical & mildly sweet, like a sweet tart, but still needs time to develop. I’ve only smoked one joint so far, but it burnt really nicely with no re-lights and a mainly white ash, taste was smooth and slightly sweet but again it is early and needs time to develop.

EFFECTS: The fun definitely starts with a sativa-like energetic effect, along with some light in the head feelings that are a little bit trippy/spacey. Not necessarily great for focussing, it is hard to remain on track and I would much prefer to listen to some nice tunes than to plan anything important Typing has become a lot more difficult than normal for me with much time spent erasing and retyping misspelled words or messed up sentences and I keep drifting off into thought. I even find myself forgetting about the volcano bag beside me, or to brew the next bowl! This is all a good thing as it’s night now and I’m tired of thinking about much, plus it is a mood lifter and I’m definitely all smiles!! At the start it does not make me want to sit down but it does seem to make my head buzz nicely with a slight droopy feeling behind my eyes that seem to want to go out of focus, and a very relaxing feeling in my body. Of course it is almost 10 pm and I have been up since 5 am, so this should be kept in mind.

POTENCY: While I don’t mind sharing my own observations I don’t like to give a number out of 10 for potency for a number of reasons. In a nutshell I feel a numbered rating is based on many different aspects of the individual’s preferences, and there are sooo many strains I haven’t tried who the hell am I to say what is a 7 or what is a 10? I will say from my experience with medical grade ganja, this SMA#2 is already above average in potency after only 16 days, compared to other auto or even regular plants I would say, and it will just get stronger as it cures and seems to carry about a 60/40 indica/sativa ratio so far.

**Added note!! – about 45 minutes later, for experiment sake (lol) I hit just a little more, and now I am really feeling really REALLY nicely stoned with a great body buzz goin on now. I’m no longer up and about much, music feels more intense and notes sharper, closing my eyes I feel like I can get completely lost in the music and will probably drift off to sleep soon. I also notice that I have very little pain along with the relaxation. Thanks Greenhouse :)

Ya the Sweet mango has been a winner all 5 beans I got in the pack (grew 3 my 1st auto grow) and I would recommend it to anyone..first time grower or not..but especially an auto critic..it will turn their thoughts inside out and they will be converted no doubt in my mind!! The smell alone is just crazy and makes you take a second look to make sure you really are smelling ganja

I will keep em comin as fast as I can..unfortunately I have other things than just growing to do too..eating..sleeping..oh ya..work lol I hope to one day asap be able to devote my time fully to growing and this incredible plant in some way

27/08/13 – Big bang auto @ 81 days from seed

Hello again!! 2 Updates in 1 day, this is rare as rare gets for me lately..but this special plant needs to be shown..at least she is special to me I have not seen many Big Bang autos grown in the forum so I was hesitant, but I'm very happy I gave this strain a try.

So I’ve really talked this plant up onto a pedestal the past little while and I hope you see why from her pictures. She is larger (needing bamboo staking), more resinous, and stronger smelling than the other 5 and would make an impressive regular photo plant I think, but since she was 2 weeks behind the others she hasn’t gotten much journal attention. It’s time to change that! She might just beat out the Sweet Mango #2 as my favorite once she is harvested. Tonight already I could swear her buds are even more noticeably swollen..but maybe that is just my stoner eyes and my wishful brain working together!

She has had only 0.5 EC water the past 2 waters, is fading super quick bringing out some nice purples on some of the fans and even into the buds now, and has lots of drying leaves which get removed once the first ¼ of the leaf tips starts to dry. I don’t like to leave dead leaf matter on the plant as it can attract bugs and fungus. Tomorrow is her big main flush with some Clear added at the end, with harvest in the very near future!

For those who like details here is the journal entry concerning her since her info was last updated and of course lots of pictures, which were taken last night. As usual, there are too many and I know sometimes there are just tiny differences, lol, but it takes too long for me to keep narrowing them down and I once my brain shuts down I just add whatever I have left

The final lady is taking her time which is ok with me because she gets prettier, and smells stronger and more fruity/skunky all the time!! She has plenty of milky trichomes (although I need to take a new leaf sample to check the ratio) and has put on a fair amount of weight but there is still a lot of new fresh calyx growth for a plant that is “overdue” so to speak. I think this is partly due to the phenotype, and partly due to the fact that she took full advantage of the bigger pot because of proper vegetation, and spent a longer amount of time preparing for flower. For the 2^nd water in a row the Big Bang auto is going to get only reverse osmosis water, Cal-Mag Plus, carbohydrates/sugars, enzymes, and silica. This is basically the same strength as my tap water, but without the nasty chlorine and less usable forms of calcium and magnesium and whatever else has been added to treat the water at the treatment plant (where I’ve worked for the summer for my co-op college placement haha). Next water will definitely be a big final flush and since she is losing color very quickly and has had only 0.5 EC the past two waters, I don’t think it will be more than 4-7 days after that for harvest.

That Big Bang is looking fantastic. Goes to show the non autoflowers believers what is possible, amazingly frosty, great work as always. Amazing how the autos pile weight on the last 2-3 week
