This is the first atempt to grow so be gentle. So...the babys were in the glass of water from monday evening till tuesday morning (12 hours-ish), then in wet papers...they got nice big roots as designed (GHS ftw) so tomorow they will make contact with the soil. Because the lights did not work (we wired it a few times but no luck...going to send it back) the babys will have to grow under the sun (best timing...we have a lot of sun/heat). I'll post a pic with the seedlings and the nursery tomorow. Sorry for the block of text, writing from my dumbphone. Have a good evening/morning/day!

Hey Rookie

That start looks great!!

Looks like one of those starts could use a little soil squeezed around the bottom where it is curly cued.

Helps a little with support of stem. I use a little stick with a twist tie some of the times.they tend to get a bit top heavy.

Thank you for the advice. I added a little bit of soil on the curly one and she is fine and bushy (kinda short). The other one is taller than the first pland but the first pair of leafs are turning yellow (I guess I should add some nutes now...a tiny bit). Tomorow I will move them into a slightly biger pot (not the final one) and post some pics. The lights that we ordered did not work so we had to send them back and now we wait for the new ones :( ...till now the ladys were doing just fine in the sun but 2 cloudy/rainy days are not what we needed now :(. They look sad. Oh well, /pray for sun. Cheers!

Thank you Dust. We got lights now (they look happy again yey!), but we have to fix the vent/Ph/nutes (I am clueless but hopefully I will not fuck up).

I got Canna Terra Vega, Canna Terra Flores and Canna Ph- organic.

Ur plants look a bit yellow, maybe to much water, maybe a to high ec in ur soil.

I would wait with nuts cuz they dont need any right now, wait till there a bit bigger and have more roots.

Hope u get them nice dark green bro!!!

Have fun and good luck.

Help! The babies have spots...

Conditions: temp 30 C , Ph 7, I'm using a big fan to cool the tent (30 degrees with the fan running), 250w placed at ~60cm above the plants, using 18/6 cycle, the plants are watered with bottled water.

That yellowing was de begining, bet ur stem is puple to?

No nuts, just ph6 water not to much and hope they will recover.

If not u killed them O.o by nuts or ph or ec to high in the soil u use, there not mature plants, just babys :(

There rite man. Everyone wants to love there plants, sometimes we love them to death. Nuts, ANY nuts are gonna burn your new baby tender roots. Your soil will have PLENTY of viable nutrients to sustain a new plant for 2-3 weeks. The first 2 weeks all it does is grow roots. It's like it's not doing shit above the ground but it is below the ground. There is little need for nitrogen at this point. Potasium, maybe a little B1 but really nothing is far better than too much at this stage. If you have nuted them flush em a little but be careful. You don't want to shift the soil to much. It's not root bound yet and the sail will liqufy easily and u don't want that. Id mist them with a spray bottle until it's dripping really good out the bottom. Hopefully they won't be stunted or worse. What your seeing is probably nutrient lock out. What soul are u using?

On shit. This was a month ago. I guess they died since nonupdates. Don't give up man. Do this. Play with some bag seed. Practice growing with free seed. U can afford to kill bag seed all day and when u get good then go spend money on good genetics. U can grow really good bud with bag seed u just don't have any control over what u get. Some of the best bud I've ever grown came from bag seed. Thing is if u want to grow 2 plants, plant 10 and u will end up with 2 good female plants on harvest day. Some are male, one may be a hermy (new growers = hermy) and one or two will die for whatever reason. I would definitly think about a soil with some perlite or vermiculite. Your soil looks kinda dense. U want nice fluffy soil that drains well. I hope this helps.

Hey :)

We're back!

Yes it was a month old...lots have happened in this month so we didnt had the time to update, sorry.

So...after multiple CPR we managed to rescue one of the babys...changed pots, soil and let her tan in the sun in our balcony and she is pretty good now. Atm we dont know what to do next (fyi/mental note: never get into growing without knowing the whole process very good).

Will get back with more info this evening or tomorrow..for now, here is the gurl :)

Cheers!post-26465-0-76454700-1377604847.jpgpost-26465-0-78318200-1377604859.jpg

I would highly recommend cutting the top off. I usually cut enough to clone the top but most people don't but if u do it will allow your laterals to grow. Every lateral means a cola. I'll try and post an example. I know it seems counter productive to cut healthy vegetation but u will end up with FAR more bud in the end. Once u cut the wait about a week and you will see 2 laterals shoot up below where u cut it. And then you will see lateral growth at every node.

Whatever you want to do here this plant needs a lt more light. If you cannot support that this attempt is bound to fail, well it basically is One tiny plant does not make investing in grow lights and the electricity needed a reasonable option either. so either push her somehwere in the brightest sun or give to someone with grow lights. Of course you can watch her on the balcony or window sink BUT it won't deliver any smokable buds that way.

Wait, wait, wait!!! What's up man? That plant is a clone. Their is no way that was started from seed bro. Plants from seed have semetrical growth on both sides. If one side has a fan leaf then the other side has the exact same leaf. What gives bro? A little bait n switch?

Hello,

I forgot to add, it happens that i am in possession of a tiny grow tent (60x60x160) and HPS 250 W (good for vegetation/vegetation) lights setup. What do you guys think is the best cource of action in the next week/weeks. I am concerned that without a fan suctioning out the hot air the plants are going to die off due to heat. I can squize in there a desk fan to blow the air around if that helps (enough to see me through to smoke anything off this plant).

Any help is valuable at this point.

Thanks a lot!

@Gelite

This plant is 1 1/2 - 2 old, started from seed (See above). During the first weeks we had a problem with brown spots and we wattered down with ~ 15 liters of 5.5 ph solution (Water + ph reductor). In this time we kept the plan(s) in the tent but since their situation worsened we "decided" is was due to the tent. We got them out and one died and this one just grew to this size/state.

What do you mean this is a bain-n switch? What's the bait and what switch could i pull? Tell you "nvm bro, the plant's already half smoked and i be chillin' and shit?

Anyways, i'm looking for tips that could turn this plant from a failure (as i suspect this is the case now) to any kind of success (1 joint -------- A brazillion joints).

Thanks in advance!

try to setup your 250 HPS in the tent without the plant for 2 3 days and see how the temperature are, normally 250w don't heat too much and with a good fan and some fresh air it can work, it will not be the best but it can work. Just make sure you have not too high temps under the bulb ;)

Have a good grow

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
