Pruning/removing Leaves

6 posts in this topic

hello fellow growers

i have a question regarding the benefits of removing a large portion of leaves in mid flowering. I have watched some videos which claim the benefits can increase your yield by up to 20 - 30 %

opinions and experience is greatly appreciated

Do you think its advisable to do so or do you think all leaves should stay on until harvest time ?

I wouldn't advise it! The leaves are like the solar panels for the plant.

When you remove them you remove potential production IMO.

However, I've seen some examples too, of ppl stripping they're plants, but if I'm not mistaken, they start with this during veg right?

And sort of train the plant by stripping it??

the buds feed from the leaves, so you can trim the leaves out that arent connected to any bud. Usually this means the under leaves, that arent soaking up much light any way.

trimming out all the fluff the light doesnt reach will surely make your top crowns bigger as the plants put more energy into the main cola rather than the fluff at the bottom where the light doesnt get to

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
