HELP: Closet SETUP

... so I have enough reading articles and topics about growing all over the internet and i have decided to put together my first GROW BOX.

I want to put together a good environment for my plants so I will be able to grow HIGH QUALITY and BIG YIELDING PLANTS.

Down there I have written some things that I have yet decided about and the ones in red that I still havent.

GROW ROOM SETUP:

so Im planning oncreating compleately separated grow box and put it in the closet.

- grow box size: 60cm x 100cm x 170cm

LIGHTNING:

probably I will purchase two 100W LED PANELS.

- do you think that placing 2 x 100w LED PANEL into my grow box is a good idea or no? What would fit better in my grow box and why?

AIR:

What systems I should use for my growbox setup? I really dont want smell all arround room.

Inside fans:

OTHERS:

I will also purchase PH, EC , HYGRO and T meter.

WHAT SHOULD I GROW AND HOW SHOULD I DO IT?

In was thinking about growing my cannabis SCROG.

- is this the best technique for my grow box size and other setup?

- should I rather go for SOG or any other technique???

WHICH SEEDS SHOULD I USE AND HOW MANY STRAINS SHOULD I PLANT (Size of pots)?

Im probably going after planting autoflower seeds?

- Should I plant AutoFlower or no?

- How many plants should I plant and in how big pots should I plant them?

- Do you suggest me any strain?

designing a grow space you need to take in a few considerations, neighbours.. room mates.. grow room size.. lights.. ventilation ..

first thing you need to decide is how much pot you need to grow? this will determine room size and lighting...

so lets start with the amount of pot you need to grow to support your habit.. whats your weekly consumption?

then we can work on room size and lighting for that room to grow your desired amount.

A room with only 60cm by 100 and 1,70 height is about as small as they get, so do not expect a lot of weed harvested there; you also are bond to stay on low intensity lights, probably you can't even place a carbon filter/ventialtor inside. I stronly suggest expanding to 80 cm , if possible. This should allow a 250 watt HPS and a few LED's. Growing solely with LED may work, too but I have no idea how. Start with Autos or a fast flowering Indica, Grow 3 or 4 plants in 2 gallon pots, first yiou should stick to growing normal plants, not SCROG or SoG. So you get an idea and a feeling for the whole growing stuff. If one plant needs care you can take her out, you can water them and flush them one by one outside as well. What you need is an intake fan and best a cheap Ventilation set with a Carbon Filter a small Hurricane Fan and a larger fan that is moving around for the later stages of bloom. Get a basic fertiliser set, Bloom/Grow and Ripen from GHE is cheap and does a good job. For soil B

For soil a Light Mix from either BioBizz, Plagron or Canna Bio Terra are excellentadd Hydro correls on the bottom of each top and mix 10% minimum under the soil for a better drain. I like to cover the surface with Correls, too keeps the soil from drying out and helps keeping the pot clean when watering.

Get a ph up or down powder and check the ph of your water. Watch the r/h and give the plants about 3 weeks from seed before you put them in fower (means changing lights from MH to HPS) and going from 18 hours to 12 hours.

That is all you got to do.

For weed, depends what kind of high you like best. Which strains would you buy in a coffeshop besides Hazes ?

White widow, Kush, Caboose, Sweet Mango automatic, Royal Creamatic are all strong and fast flowering strains with a very nice taste + effect.

Maybe you want a Hybrid ? Check the web sites and read carefully - Jack Herer, Damnesia, Amnesia Haze automatic are already bigger plants, that will take 1 or 2 weeks longer to finish. I would grow 2 Autos, 1Indica and 1 Hybrid on 80 cm. With 60 better stick to maximum of 3 plants - all Autos

Maybe others have different tipps, more plants, smaller pots etc.

like Bam said, once you will handle a little growing, Scrog will probably indeed be your best option to get some nice yeild with LED in a small room, but i agree with him that it is not necessary the easiest option for a first grow, like him i think 4 plants to begin is nice in those rooms, i had a friend with the same size and he was growing 1 plant under 250w HPS and making average of 160g everytime, so pretty nice results, With Leds only yet i'm not sure if it can be done, but why not if they are good leds.

For the Ventilation system, have a look in the growguru section we have some threads talking about the Ventilation system, there are some formulas to calculate how much extraction you need in your room for your air to change reguraly. once you make the calcul it's easy to choose 1 oscilating fan minimum inside for the flowering like Bam said, and some cheap nutes to start with if you don't want to invest to much in expensive bottles like advanced nutrient. Powderfeeding is doing an excelent job if you want to give it a try

white painted cabinets with cooltubes above your closet are good. Have a good fan that runs activated charcoal though your cool tube. Drill a hole through your wall to send the venting air outside to keep it the right temp. You can vent your cooltube with AC, the coolness lets you have the light closer to the plant. If you built a good cabinet from scratch it should cost you under $500. You should keep your cabinet closed without any kind of light leaks and it should still have proper ventilation. So that means drilling a hole through your cabinet with an extra fan besides the activated charcoal one. (not your closet.) If you just try and grow without proper equipment it just isn't going to be as good. I Dunno about you, but if I want to grow, I want it to be the best!
