Lambsbread: Yeah, I've got bamboo sticks to start with and I'm getting tomato rings this week. I've put a lot of money on nutes, soil, equipment, etc. so the wire I'm using I got because it was cheap. It did the job for starters but I'm going to be shaping the plants now. I'm thinking making two of the plants into plants with 8 colas and as a experiment I'm making one into a 16 cola plant just to see if there is a yield difference. I'm also starting to notice a bit of smell when I'm moving the plants around. I'm really looking forward to make set it to flowering so that the buds can start to develop and I can smell the plant. I've also set a ipod on a timer with a small set of portable speakers to play music during day time starting with something easy and building up and then back to something easy before they night so the plants have been listening to a few playlists with positive music, varying between music genres from ambient, psychoacustic music, roots, dub, reggae, jazz, hip-hop, dubstep, mombathon, d'n'b that's 'peak' then the music slows down back to ambient before night. The plants get a bit of special attention from me and I actually produce music so in the future I'm hoping to experiment with music and growing. I've ordered a copy of what a plant knows because I read that plants can 'see' and 'feel' their environment so since I'm their caretaker giving them a helping hand to thrive I'm thinking of really getting to know plants and understanding them.

The CH9 Climax seed didn't germinate so I'm down to three plants and 6 chilis but that's why I'm thinking of making one plant into a 16 cola plant while two are just 8 cola plants.

cool man , it sounds like it all coming together. :)

I really like that youa re goingto do both 8 and 16 cola.

I use BioBizz allmix for my soil, I find that i don't  need to feed for first 3 weeks and maybe longer, if i added nutes before it would burn them. Even then i slowly increase nutes , if a plant is greedy and needs feeding she'll let me know.

As for seedlings some thing like BioBizz Lite mix is better as it wont be so strong for the lil' darlings.

Love the music for plants :D recent studies have shown plants like Black Sabbath and hate Cliff richard lmao xD also have you checked out our music for plants section? no?? Then follow the link - http://forums.strainhunters.com/topic/771-music4plants-and-sh/

Have you thought about a little bit of bird song first thing and just before lights out thus aping nature? Just a thought, what do you think?

What ever you do have fun and happy growing

Peace

Are you feeding them nutes as well as the chicken manure ? If you are pal that will be your problem to Mutch fertiliser The manure will be enough for veging maby even flowering just look at it as an organic nutrient for your plant never use too Mutch I have used bat guano and that is all I used for my young plants. Nutes as well would be to Mutch and could burn your plants that's if you are using both together :)

I've noticed my plants don't like Lil' Wayne, they seem a bit sad when his tracks play so I replaced Lil' Wayne with 10 ft. Ganja Plant and they love it.

You might want to start with a lighter soil next time so you wont encounter that nutrient burn. Some seeds or clones may like different nutrient levels. If you don't already have an EC meter I would get one ASAP to monitor the nutrient levels you are putting in. A lot of nutrient companies have their nutrients dosage way too high and when your plant is young you always want to start with very little and work up. Were there roots on the side of the pots when you repotted? It looks like you might have repotted to early. Looks like your plants are starting to build vegetation

It's more than likely, the chicken manure did it's part. I couldn't afford a EC meter at the moment, I'll be getting one for next time. Some rots stuck out from the side of the pot and were hanging at the bottom of the pot, that's usually when I'd transplant them.

Day 52 veg

I've used bendz that I've used outdoors instead of bamboo sticks to bend the branches for a flat canopy because I can't find my bamboo sticks anywhere

1 Week of flowering, the bendz are doing fine at the moment but I wish I had my bamboo sticks which I can't find. I'm a bit strapped for cash for this month so can't buy equipment.

Sorry I nearly forgot updating but I've been busy making friends with a ladybug that flew on my computer screen when I was looking for organic pesticides, no joke. I gave it a name Tille, a word for a animal that's called into service for a human through magic. Tille got stuck two days ago in the fly paper for gnats but I managed to get it loose without it taking any damage.

It's one and a half week into flowering.

I had to skip ahead through the thread after seeing the peppers and I see no more pictures... I am gonna finish reading the post asap but I just had to jam down to the end and ask you now for more pepper pictures please =P assuming there still thriving ^_^

and the first thing that comes to mind when I see your training is root pruning from what I understand when your doing such a massive pruning ie almost 50% or more of a plant its not a bad idea to pull it up and chop the roots off a bit so they dont die on there own and rot.

I have never practiced this and only seen it on this forum and just wanted to bring it up as a topic of discussion on this thread because of your agressive training.

anyone know if this is just a myth?

Thanks for starting a journal CaptainKatch!

Lycka! great name! can hardly wait to see how these finish up!

Blueskyolympia the chilis aren't in the tent because I had to start flowering but when they get bigger and when I plan for my second grow I'm going to have the chilis with. The chilis doing fine but I lost one because of the cold chock in the other room. It's still cold here so one died :( I also removed the bendz today and I just saw that it has contributed to more shots. I've got 21, 25 and 29 shots growing.

I removed all the excess growth tips, the plant was really bush and all the new tops were taking up much needed energy I removed the tops that I planned on having, as an experiment I had fimed but has only 8 top just for the sake of experimenting and I left some of the internodes on that seemed strong but I did remove quite a bit from it. I have two that I've topped to 16 and I've taken of most of the side growth so that the energy goes to the colas. I am in the process of making a SOG but I'm still trying to get it tightened around the corners I had to just put it up preliminarily because night time was not far away so I had to hurry.

The first three pictures were from week 2 in flowering before I removed the side growth.

The last four pictures were from week starting of week 3

I would say, more good girls with a naughty side ;)

I am liking this, looks like they might be some stocky ol' bud monsters in the aera ;)

it's gonna be nice to see these fill out over the weeks :D

I was wondering, will you still keep the N up a biddy bit to fill out the leaves?

Nice to see a bit of defoliation/hard trim action going on, looks like we should see some nice results.

Keep us pic'n'posted ;)

Peace brother

Week 4 of flowering, the buds are starting to develop and now I can see the work from the experimentation with fiming one plant so that it has 8 tops while two others are 16 tops. The plant is not getting much height but it's becoming more squat from the training. I've made some notes to think about for next grow that I need to think about but it's been a learning experience compared to outdoors.

I've decided for my next grow I will stick to soil and I will be doing more research into soil mixtures, I've used the biobizz line for this grow and some other Advanced Nutrient products like Nirvana and Bud Candy.

For my next grow I will be growing either in 4 different plants, Emdog from Humboldt Seed Co., Flowerbomb Kush from Strain Hunters Seed Bank, Blue Hash from Dinafem and Belladonna from Paradise seeds in the 26L cloth pots or I grow 8 different plants two Emdog, two Flowerbomb Kush, one Blue Hash, one Belladonna, 2 Great White shark in 10L Air pots.

I also would consider on continuing improving mainlining. I'm planting the seeds in april just to have those extra weeks of veg needed to develop a sturdy stem.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
