Ecosysytem/Ecogrow - problems with my pH meter goin crazy

4 posts in this topic

So I've been running a 5.5 pH through my slabs for days preparing the arrival of my babies,,,144 of them, Super Silver Haze. They arrive and I plunk them all in and start adding my food. I have the whole line of General Hydroponics Flora series and am following the expert recirculating program. So I dump the rez cause it's full of fiber and add fresh water. FloraMicro, FloraGrow and a little FloraBloom, Diamond Nectar, Sub Culture + M, Floralicious Grow, FloraBlend and finally some Floralicious Plus. Sounds like alot but most of these are organic boosters and all at seedling strength for the first couple days of Veg. So my meter goes down to 1.8 and up and down between that and 4.4 never stabilizing. I figure my water is fucked or something so I dump it and add 100 litres of bottled spring water... Add the FloraMicro and the ph goes down 0.4, normal.... then I add FloraGrow and the meter goes berserk. I dump the res again and add water again. This time I grab Bigfoot A + B and figured these babies have to drink so I'll keep it basic till I figure it out. I add the chems and the meter goes berserk again... HOLY FUCK.... Dump it again and add water again, this time I test the additives all seperatly before adding them, got all gereral's stuff in except the FloraMicro, FloraGrow and FloraBloom which are the main components. It seems both main components fuck with the meter? I changed from my tap water to spring water and the same thing happened? I've calabrated my brand new tri-meter over 6 times and it's dead nuts. My babies have had a rough start.... I've got $6000,00 invested in this set up and I consider myself a professional but can't figure this one out? I'm running an Ecogrow Ecosystem 2, 100 L res, 2 x 1000w, 144 plants, totally air cooled, temp and environmental controls perfect down to the last degree, built room from scratch, sound proof and sealed up, testing the new Phillips bulbs that are up against the Hortilux. Nothing has been spared and all top of the line. Don't know what the fuck is going on? Backed up tri-meter with a spare pen and eye dropper test? Absolutly dumb founded?????????????????????????????????

GrowMaster J.... I'm not a guru on grow matters & very recently I find out that my PH was going down pretty quick, as you try several things until John SuperBlueHaze told me that there were fungus in the roots so I get a fungus organic treatmment & started to use it yesterday & the PH seems to be stable, just a little fluctuation.

Hope this will help you.

I can't even beleive what the problem is.... after 48 hrs of no sleep, 150 gallons of water later and probly $300+ in wasted chemicals.... the fucking pH meter probe went haywire cause it was totally submereged in my res. I've totally submerged my probes for the last 10 yrs with no problems? So everytime I tested it in measuring cup or calibrated it,it tested perfect, then I threw it in the res it went haywire. Unbeleivable! All good now and no harm to my babies.......

what sort of stabs?

It all comes down to chemicals in the end; use organics as a suppliment only and then it will not interfer in your Ec levels so much.

that is your problems my friend - too much organic nutrients.

happy growing,

john

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
