Powder Feed - PH - PK13/14 - Additives

Hi Guys, I hope you are all well.

Yes I'm back again this time I've gone back to GH Powder Feed and have some questions for you to ponder.

Currently growing Skunk XL from Royal Queen Seeds, she's a bit of a monster due to a mistake with plugs being in wrong timers so instead of being on 12/12 since last week, she's been on 20/4!

She's been on Powder Feed from the start with some Hesi Rootbooster  and HESI Powerzyme I had left over from previous crops.

However, the PH seems all over the place.

When in the veg she would go up from 5.5 to 6.5, which I think was probably due to heat in the tent so nutrient water got quite warm too.

Now she is down in flower tent much cooler PH has gone down from 6.5 to 5.5 then from 5.5 to 4.0 over the two weeks.

I am no longer adding any other root boosters or enzymes but want to know what to do when in last stages of flowering, can you add extra PK or is this not needed with the increase in EC and PH as flowering progresses?

Here's some pics I just took, she's now in 60cm x 60cm tent and pretty much filling it.

Peace y'ole.

Yes I agree with Jose i think you should keep going without boosters, you could put maybe the doses just a little bit down because i think in a little she will start to show little bit of excess, but she looks pretty good considering all the PH troubles you quoted.

And if you do decide to add the PK make sure to bring the PF a little bit down to not overfeed.

Have a good grow man

Hi Guys & Girls, I've just refreshed nutes with only Powder Feed pH 5.5 EC 1.6

It had dropped from pH 5.5 I set it at last Sunday down to pH 4.3 today, I've whacked it back up to pH 5.5 again as last week didn't seem to do her any harm whatsoever jumping from 4.1 to 5.5, hopefully without any additives or root boosters she'll stay more stable this week, which is the start of week 2 flowering.

Peace y'ole.

Aloha, Too much NH4 in a nutrient solution will send the pH down fast. Try a little potassium silicate (10 to 14 ppm) to help buffer your solution or add more nitrate nitrogen  (Calcium Nitrate) to the powderfeeds using the same EC.

Hi All, just a quick update the pH stayed exactly the same with nothing but Powder Feed at 5.5 so all is good from here on in.

Here's couple of pics of the girl, she's called June, named after a friend of mine with very bushy hair.

She has 5-6 weeks to go according to grow schedule for Sunk XL and is not supposed to stretch too much either, which I'm hoping is true other wise she's going to outgrow my tent completely even if I bend and twist her, fantastic looking plant.

PS:

My grow set up is a simple 12liter bucket, polystyrene fish box lid and an £8 air pump with 2 x small air-stones attached and one 6cm netpot with clay pebbles total cost £11.89.

She's in a 60cm x 60cm x 140cm grow tent with 150w dual spectrum hps bulb, I've got flowering bulb but can't find at the moment.

hi,did you measure the EC  when you measured the ph drop?  it is also possible that the ec got higher as the plant drinked and water level dropped, the ph would go down as well when that happens

glad the ph is stable now, ec is prob also stable than:) remember to check both next time if you see it

Hi Guys & Girls, here's a weekly update.

Fresh nutes day yesterday, pH was 5.0 EC was waaaaayyyy up at 6.25, she got a bit fizzled on the lower branches as you can see from pics.

Apart from that she 's absolutely fine and still growing well she's starting either week 4 or 5, I'm not sure as my light timer got a bit mucked up.

Fresh nutes at pH 5.7 and EC 1.7 as per dosage instructions for weeks 4/5 flowering.

Peace y'ole
