moisture % ranges

I was wondering if any of you  had a good idea of the additional amount of water (expressed as a %) that one might add to a given minimum % that previously exists in a given absorbtive medium volume.

so to say if I were to add 3 quart water to 17 quart absorptive medium or 18.5% to a minimum lets say 10% moisture level,  I would have 30.72% of the volume of absortive medium in additional moisture (1.7 quart is already in the medium) total moisture. so  23.5% of the total volume is water ( basically 25% moisture)

What you you think the minimum % moisture level is and the maximum amount (expressed as a percentage)

What do you think (OR KNOW) the most beneficial amount of moisture (expressed as a percentage) for our given vegetation?

What do you think the Maximum amount of moisture expressed as a percentage)  is recommended?

Basically e all know what "dry" is.  would  you care to make an educated guess on what range moisture % "dry" represents ?

Im shooting at adding 15.56% of the absorptive medium Volume in water.

DO you think (OR KNOW) adding this much to the "dry" range would be most beneficial ?

We should express options in right now terms because many factors exist that the uptake of moisture (hence the "dry" % range and "most beneficial - maximum range questions)

example:

so if we know that an additional  33% moisture or 25% of the total volume was most beneficial and "dry" was say 10 - 15%

then adding at least an additional 15% would be about right.

Hello Man, well i dont the % you are looking in the measure you are looking for, i mean i dont know how much each soil can retain and from what % you will consider it dry or wet, i do like eveyrbody the good old finger test lol ;)

But as a good watering rule i like to start with seedling around 2-3% of your container size, so for an 11L pot i would give in seedling stage 2dl daily more or less, and increase this up to the 10% in full veg stage and flowering. The 10% of your container's volume rule is for me a good one to base on and adjust depending on your weather, so for the 11L pots this would give a 1,1L watering every 2-3 days in full flowering or long veg periods. But once again this rule always needs to be adjusted to your specific needs once you have seen how your plants react to it :)

Have a good grow

well right now the regimen is 2.5 us Qt every 2 light cycles.    (+2.5 cup)

obviously checking the bottom of the smart pots every day and say 30 min following hydration.

but I'm thinking the basal portion of the container is getting dry so I either have to up the water or the frequency.

I took a core sample and found this to be true but closer to the center it was moister

(smart pots are going to take some time getting used to.)

I would be more willing to up the water ( rather than the frequency) if I had an idea of what the level of maximum benefit was.
