1m2 grow box vent.

hy i got one question im gettin 100x100x200 grow box,planing to put 400 hps bulb,cool tube and filter. What exhauation vent should i buy?? how much wind must he exhoust??

Hi, to work out how much exhaust you need here is a formular                                              D x W x H x 60 + 20%

depth x width x height, that gives you cubic area now ideal is                                                1 x 1 x 2 x 60= 120 +24= 144m3

to change that air at least once a minute, so cubic area x 60.

Now we have our cubic area an hour we must increase that

because of using a filter will restrict the air flow by about 20% (not sure on exact measurement)

Also make sure your filter is rated heigher than your fan.

I've had one square meter room since i started growing and always kept my 350m3 extractor, it has 3 speed so you can go slower when needed, and in summer you have a little extra to make a bigger airflow I wouldnt go much smaller than 200m2 for a 400w.
