My third year growing with Powder Feeding

I've already started this thread, but just noticed I put it in the "Indoor Growing Journals" not the "Outdoor" so I'm redoing this here where it belongs. If an admin can remove the thread I started in the Indoor section or can delete it as it doesn't belong there.  Sorry about that.  I had just received and tried some 29.2% THC Headband from my legal Licensed Producer (good price at $7/gram) before posting so you can see how easily I made the mistake :-)

I know I'm a little late this year, but I had to hold off as I was getting new windows put on my house and didn't want any workers seeing my babies.  Even though I'm growing legally here in Canada with my Cultivation license from Health Canada still valid while the courts decide if the government can take away this right they gave me.  Once again I'm using basically only Powder Feeding for fertilizer.  I do add a couple of other things, one being Super Thrive, 4 drops per 20 liters (great for root growth) and Ormus which I add one type once during veg and another type I use once during flowering.  Neither is a fertilizer, but an additive to bring in missing elements to my plants.  But Powder Feeding is the only fertilizer being used.

The growing medium I use is Pro Mix BX Mycorrhizae, this is put into 20 gallon (75 liters)  The Mycorrhizae is a Biostimulant that allows your plants to more easily absorb nutrients.  I then PH the water to the instructed level and EC to using the same instructions that came with my Powder Feeding.  This year will be the first with Powder Feeding that I am measuring PH and EC.  I'm after perfection this year.

My seeds were not started until May 24th, so by the time they germinated and were put in their starter pots it was June.  The pictures I'll now post are of all my stuff to fertilize, test and keep my babies growing up to big fat girls.

I'll be sure to post weekly updates to share progress of these unusual strains I'm growing this year.  All seeds are from Ace Seeds as they have the most creative breeders with some very nice varieties.  What you'll see me growing this year are 2- Kali China (Fem), 1- Nepal Jam x Kali China (Fem), 3- Nepal Jam (Standard seeds) and 2- Erdpurt (Standard seeds).  I'm hoping that I get a least one female from each of my Standard Erdpurt and two females from my 3 Nepal Jam Standard seeds.  But I'll be taking exactly what mother nature decides I get.  I could not get feminized seeds for these two strains and I really wanted to try both, so I'm taking the chance.

So without further ado, here are my first pictures of the year.  Nice to be back growing, it was a long cold winter.IMG_20150607_111042.jpgIMG_20150607_111055.jpgIMG_20150607_111050.jpgIMG_20150607_111359.jpgIMG_20150607_111351.jpgIMG_20150611_173620.jpgIMG_20150611_175744.jpgIMG_20150611_180832_panorama.jpgIMG_20150611_180843_panorama.jpgIMG_20150611_180851_panorama.jpgIMG_20150611_180859_panorama.jpgIMG_20150611_180906_panorama.jpgIMG_20150611_181041_panorama.jpg

It's been raining since the day I transplanted these into the smart pots 3 days ago.  I need some sunshine soon, these poor things are drowning!  I'll take more pictures this weekend, sure hope the sun comes out to give them a boost.  It's so nice to be back sharing my grow using Powder Feeding for the 3rd year in a row. Happy growing to everyone!!!!

Well a week has passed by and I've had nothing but rain for 6 of those days.  I was worried my plants would drown, but they survived and are still growing.  Just after these pictures they got another dose of Powder Feeding Mother Plant fertilizer EC 1.4.  So here are this weeks pictures.IMG_20150620_164920.jpgIMG_20150620_164922.jpgIMG_20150620_164937.jpgIMG_20150620_164944.jpgIMG_20150620_164951.jpgIMG_20150620_164955.jpgIMG_20150620_164958.jpgIMG_20150620_165009.jpgIMG_20150620_165016.jpgIMG_20150620_165022.jpgIMG_20150620_165028.jpgIMG_20150620_165033.jpgIMG_20150620_165040.jpgIMG_20150620_165313.jpgIMG_20150620_131345.jpg

Nice plants :)

I like the combo of soil/perlit & root pouches, the root is definitely better developed.

The downside of that size you have with soil..... flushing is a tough job mate :(

Keep up the good work

These are called smart pots, I bought them on Amazon.ca.  The cost was $50.00 for 10, 20 gallon (80 liter) pots.  These are on there second crop so you can reuse them.  These pots stop the root bound circle of roots at t he bottom like you get with plastic pots.  The roots grow out the side and get cauterized but the sun , so the root grows in an other direction not straight down to the bottom.  Great pots.  Now to post some new pictures.

Here are some new pictures taken two days ago.  I just gave them their first Ormus treatment of 20 liters of Ormus or about 3.5 liters per plants.  They will get fertilized on Friday.  They are now primed for some major growth in the next few weeks.  But so far so good.IMG_20150704_123317.jpgIMG_20150704_123336.jpgIMG_20150704_123417.jpgIMG_20150704_123435.jpgIMG_20150704_123440.jpg

Sorry for the delay in posting new pictures, been a busy summer with lots of traveling.  Here are July pic's, you'll see one strain that started to flower in mid July Erdpurt and Afgani strain is going to mature early September.  IMG_20150704_123317.jpgIMG_20150704_123336.jpgIMG_20150721_082635.jpgIMG_20150728_081741.jpgIMG_20150728_081750.jpgIMG_20150728_081800.jpgIMG_20150728_081810.jpgIMG_20150728_081816.jpgIMG_20150728_081823.jpgIMG_20150728_082028.jpgIMG_20150728_082032.jpgIMG_20150728_082035.jpg

All were feminized only the Erdpurt were regular seeds.  Since the Erdpurt is such and early finisher, I plan on crossing it with the Kali China and the Nepal Jam to see if I can get an earlier maturing strain as a result.  As you can see as the Erdpurt is finishing in the next couple of weeks the rest are just starting to flower, I see these being ready in October.  I'm hoping the quality is there in the Erdpurt, I have no reason to believe it won't be a very good Afgani strain.

I only germinated 3 standard seeds with the Erdpurt and got two males and one female.  I've already fertilized my female with male pollen, so I'll have lots of standard Erdpurt seeds for next year as I plan on growing more of these since I can have them harvested first week of September here in Toronto.

I'll have to stand next to my plants when I take the next pictures as you can't tell the height of them.  The tallest is about 10 feet tall and the shortest which is the Erdpurt is 6 1/2 feet tall.  All plants were germinated the last week of May and put into soil June 1st.

These plants have only been given Powder Feeding for food, nothing else as a fertilizer.  I have given them  a veg dose of Ormus and they have had their first dose of flowering Ormus. It is not a fertilizer, but does aid it producing nice big resin coated buds.  All it is is a combination of all the natural elements the universe is made of, from the big bang.  I didn't want my girls to be missing out on anything :-)

I'm sorry but I've not taken new pictures for a few days, I do have some that are a few days older than what I've already posted, so I'll up load them, but they are still about a week old and the girls are changing daily.  The Erdpurt is going great guns and will be ready within a couple of weeks.  I'm going for a vacation to China on September 19th so I hope I can have it harvested before I go, the rest will not be ready until mid October from what I can see.  Although the Kali China has really picked up over the past week and buds are forming fast. The Nepal Jam and Kali China x Nepal Jam are very slow.  I will be taking nice new pictures soon, hope tonight or tomorrow.  I will pull each plant aside so you can get a perfect view of each one.  No, that isn't me in the photos, it was an employee of mine, who wanted to see the plants.IMG_20150830_120403.jpgIMG_20150825_081614.jpgIMG_20150826_114516.jpgIMG_20150826_114528.jpgIMG_20150826_114458.jpgIMG_20150826_114455.jpgIMG_20150826_114444.jpgIMG_20150825_081614.jpgIMG_20150826_114451.jpgIMG_20150825_090551.jpg

Time for my now weekly update.  The Erdpurt is nearing its end, I'd say maybe 10 days to go.  I did fertilize one bottom branch two weeks ago as I had a male Erdpurt so why not more seeds from a plant that is now exactly 100 days old and pretty much ready.  As for the rest of my girls, they are the opposite of Erdpurt as you'll see from the pictures, the Kali China is coming along, but has many weeks to go as does the Nepal Jam and Kali China x Nepal Jam.  I'm going to cross the Erdpurt with all of them to try and get them to mature a lot sooner. So here goes, pictures from September 6th.IMG_20150906_154837.jpgIMG_20150906_154841.jpgIMG_20150906_154849.jpgIMG_20150906_154912.jpgIMG_20150906_154920.jpgIMG_20150906_154926.jpgIMG_20150906_154933.jpgIMG_20150906_154943.jpgIMG_20150906_155016.jpgIMG_20150906_155023.jpgIMG_20150906_155045.jpgIMG_20150906_155051.jpgIMG_20150906_155100.jpgIMG_20150906_155124.jpgIMG_20150906_155129.jpgIMG_20150906_155146.jpgIMG_20150906_155156.jpgIMG_20150906_155213.jpgIMG_20150906_155221.jpgIMG_20150906_155241.jpgIMG_20150906_155248.jpgIMG_20150906_155255.jpgIMG_20150906_155301.jpgIMG_20150906_155312.jpgIMG_20150906_155320.jpgIMG_20150906_160100.jpgIMG_20150906_160114.jpgIMG_20150906_160249.jpgIMG_20150906_160251.jpg

The last picture is a picture of the very bottom branch of he Erdpurt . As you can see I pollinated it with an Erdpurt male, so I'll have lots of seeds to keep this very early finishing plant around for years to come.  Next year, I'll feminize the seeds for the future.

Here are some updated pictures.  The Erdpurt is coming down on Saturday as bud rot is out of control.  Been a very hot and sunny week 30 during the day and 14 at night.  The Kali China is coming along real nice, lost of frost showing on the little buds already.  The Kali China x Nepal Jam is also coming along nicely.  The Nepal Jam is very slow and may not mature.  I will be going to China on Saturday for a couple of weeks soIMG_20150915_090634.jpgIMG_20150915_090639.jpgIMG_20150915_090644.jpgIMG_20150915_090656.jpgIMG_20150915_090727.jpgIMG_20150915_183854.jpgIMG_20150915_183908.jpgIMG_20150915_183918.jpgIMG_20150915_183926.jpgIMG_20150915_183935.jpgIMG_20150915_184011.jpgIMG_20150915_184015.jpgIMG_20150915_184019.jpgIMG_20150915_184057.jpgIMG_20150915_184139.jpgIMG_20150915_184200.jpgIMG_20150915_184208.jpgIMG_20150915_184212.jpg no more updates for awhile.

I'm back from my trip to China, but still suffering from jet lag, the 12 hour time difference is brutal to recover from.  My plants were looking good on my return. My sons took care of them for me.  But the day after I returned, a big storm hit us, the plants were bent over and branches broke.  I spent 5 hours yesterday, cleaning them up, taking off dead leaves, putting in 2 meter stakes and tying them to the stakes for support.  I also had to add support for some branches that suffered damage in the storm.  I'm thinking perhaps 10 more days.  More if the weather permits.  So far no rot with these, unlike the Erdpurt, which had heavy rot.  You will see a picture of the results of harvest, I haven't weighed it yet, but it looks to be about 300 grams or so.  The 4 plants left growing are, two Kali China and one Nepal Jam and one Kali China x Nepal Jam.

Thanks for the compliments.  I'll be putting up my final pictures soon.  I've got everything harvested, and it is all now in canning jars curing.  I got 5.3 pounds of finished buds from my 5 plants, so I'll be good for the year :-)

Here are my final pictures of 2015's crops.  I now have everything harvested, dried and it is all now in 1 liter canning jars, a total of 48 filled to the top.

Everything turned out fantastic for me again this year.  I'm going to find out just how fantastic it is as I've purchased a testing kit that tests for THC and CBD, this weekend I'll test the crops and posts the results.  Here is where I purchased the kit for $99.99, http://cannalyticssupply.com/

So enjoy these final pictures from the crops of 2015.IMG_20151008_083721.jpgIMG_20151008_083716.jpgIMG_20151008_083706.jpgIMG_20151008_083700.jpgIMG_20151008_083651.jpgIMG_20151008_083643.jpgIMG_20151008_083635.jpgIMG_20151008_083622.jpgIMG_20151008_083614.jpgIMG_20151008_083542.jpgIMG_20151008_083523.jpgIMG_20151008_083515.jpgIMG_20151008_083504.jpgIMG_20151008_083450.jpgIMG_20151008_083436.jpgIMG_20151008_083428.jpg
