ah thanks.

These are some weird plants too, I have never seen others like them.

Instead of real tight flowers and buds, they have euh some kind of leaves? Loaded with crystals of coure, just like "normal" flowers

The first 3 I pulled about a month ago, thinking they were males... but they seem female... I think

If someone can provide some input, would be HIGHLY appreciated

Not that unique, there are a couple strains, that have leaves full of resin and original Haze produces these light fluffy buds. With Skunk and other hybrids i.e. backcrossing the modern strains offer more compact buds, like Indics.

Regarding question 1. As much as I also check for amber trihomes ime other signs show the ripeness of a plant more precise. Can be a change in smell. I am growing a KUSH wth a real heavy lemon smell, Just shortly before I cut it down that fragrance changed it's character to a more mild and much nicer aroma. Foxtailing with Sativa dominant hybrids OR with Exodus Cheese a change in the shhape of the flowering buds, so that it looks like the picture in the prospect. Again a change in smell comes along with it. As rule of thump I make sure the trichomes are full developed and filled with at least some amber points. Usually it is enough when I see 10 to 15 % brown overripe heads to be sure the weed is potent enough. You must not forget, that the trichome will still ripen more during the drying and curing process. If you check the trichomes once the weed is ready you will be surprised how much more amber heads are visible vs the moment you picked the flowers. Others may think different but so far this method worked well and I like the weed I grow, The drying and curing is just as important for a good bud as growing a plant properly. Not every strain fills up the trichomes in the same way . I once wanted to wait till at least 1/3rd of the trichomes were amber and I waited 11 weeks on a Chemdog (a 9 week strain). That alread produced a couple ripe seeds in despair and the trichomes still were mostly clouded not amber. The weed was very potent but feminized weed with seeds is not exactly the best ...so I wished I had not waited that long. Rastafarians grow High grade since generations and hardly ever use a microscope to check for trichomes but they know from experience when to harvest. This is just 1 tool but better trust your guts and experience and learn to read the plants.

Hi,

Bam-Bhole: u are totally right. Things is, this is only my second grow (ever).

So I'm well in the very beginning stage of learning, so I could use some advice...

These are my last 3 ladies.

First time I try to assess clear/clouded of the trichomes.

Anyone that can provide input what I should be looking at?

I think that clear, they are not. But milky, well, I dunno.

Any input would be wildly appreciated.

If you take a picture in white/daylight I could see the trichomes better BUt no need to worry. It is covered in crystal, so you got real potent weed already. from what I see most is milky I would say. Do you know when you put the lights from 18 to 12 hours ? Count the days and compare with what the seedbank information say - 8 weeks, 10 weeks, whatever. This will give you a base. I THINK YOU SHOULD WATER HER 1 MORE TIME AND WAIT TIL THE SOIL/COCO IS NEARLY DRY. THEN TAKE HER DOWN.

Yiu should just pick a side stem or bud and smoke that once it is dry enough. 3 to 5 days,You can put in on a warm (not hot) surface to spped the drying. This is not for best taste but to find out how it works. If you think it is not ppotent enough for you wait 1 week longer than suggested - means 2 times watering. But I am sure this will bake you nicely.. :-)

The rest of course should be dried and cured properly !

thank you, excellent advice. I followed it, my herb is more than potent enough lol

so I put them in the dark yesterday, two days, so harvest tomorrow evening

(at least, that's what a friend told me... to put them in the dark, no water, for the last two days, and then cut em)

Thanks again! <3
