The perfect EC Meter (imo) blulab truncheon pen

Recommended Posts

I once bought a low priced EC meter and even though it worked okay for a while the problem was forgetting to shut off the energy after using it. So pretty soon I ran outpower. since i did not know that the problem was from batteries I returned that EC meter within less than 1 month after the purchase. They returned it to me without batteries and the fluid needed to re calibrate it. So  thought to myself - fuck it + forget it.

Since then i kept an eye on EC meters once in a while and heard that Bluelab was considered to be The Benz among the gear. recently they introduced the truncheonette and that is a game changer 1 5 year guarantee, water proof, no need to calibrate anything automatic calculöation of temperature + ph level gives you the right info within a few seconds. I bought it last week and it works like a charme. Put it inside the ph adjusted/right temperature water with the amount of fertilizers you think is right, stick that huge (it looks like a pen, but in reality the thing is HUGE) long tube inside the pot and watch the BLUE LED go up + down blinking for a while- It did take about 10 to 15 seconds till the correct level was shown - first with a steady blue Light, then it switches off - so make sure you remember the exact spot, where the light was. After a few times you will probably get an idea what number is where (or if youhave sharp eyes you can read the numbers)

No need to switch it on or off just stick it inside and BINGO-Job done.

As easy + fool proof as it gets. Costs twice as much as a cheap Ec meter but if you buy cheap you buy twice and get a lot of anger + frustration in return.

This is smooth sailing compared to a regular EC Meter

After harvesting the first plant grown with both pph values + EC meter monitoring I can only say that the info on the feeding calendar is true.  It says using that siple feeding with expert techniques wil increase the roma and quality of the trichomes. I harvested a Special KUSH no1 by royal queens, a strain I grew before a lot laready and this time the buds color was all yellow and richer as ever before. Plus the aroma was never as inviting and tasty as before. i smoked some already and it tastes +works fine BUt it is still not properly dry letalone cured. So far no fresh gamja had that much aroma.. Seems it really pays off quality wise. O course it is a lot more wok but if you want your weed to be real high grade it is definitely worth it !

Use your EC meter also when flushing.

Over time I have noticed the presence of a curve in EC value in the flushed water.

Say, you use a 30L pot soil or coco, a small 2L pot to catch some run off water and your EC meter and about 100L PH regulated water, 22°C, EC as from tab, assume 0.3 EC tab.

After the first few 5L cans you merely see a difference in EC, say you have about 2.0 run off, but it will seem to be locked at that spot. Give it another few 5L cans and let it soak.

Somewhere between liter 30-60 you will likely measure a Peak EC of 3.5-4.0 that rises pretty quick when salts finally dissolve properly and get washed out.

Now keep flushing down to about 0.1-0.2 above what you put in, with tab 0.3 I would finish at 0.4 or .5,.

Without the EC meter you have basically no idea of what is going on inside your pot when you flush. You dont know where to stop and if to keep going. Some pots are well done after 50-60L, some need 80-100L.

You also check the run off from time to time with feedings in mind to see when the run off water reaches a value of concern. I would say close to 3 calls for a flush.

......and yeah....take it easy with the little clones....just DO IT !    it's no secret K.     Try different ways and see which one fits you best. It's actually hard to ruin them in some perspective.

Peace

Fim

Thanks man, Never thought about testing the run off from sfushin . makes sense what you say. Right now I got too much seeds in development to add a bunch of cuttings BUT I will try out 1 or 2 from the DNA batch. THey are under 400 watt mh and are soon ready to flower. I still don''t know exactly what/where to take the clone. Most seem to cut off the top, that makes for the strongest survivors but I would prefer to take lower cuttings. Once they have 4 real internodes I take a picture of the chosen girl sand maybe you can give me a hint where to start cutting ?

Yeah man, It is about time now - I found a bunch of potential cuttings, Only minor problem is I only got some NEUDOFIC clone powder someone handed me and a bunch of those small rock wool cubes. Not the Grodan 4 by 4 cubes-a bit smaller. I watered 4 yesterday. I even got a bubbler but nothing to use it with - so I guess best is cut the clones dip them in powder and dtick them directly into the cubes. Will buy me some razor blades for clean work and then try me best. i concentrate on the lower parts, don't want to interfere with the perfect growth of the elite genetics. They are really more than ready for flowering.  bring down the lights 2 hours per day then change from MH to HPS. For the clones I got a greenhouse and various neon lights - I have a good feeling, since everone can do that, so I should be ale to do the same..lol

BTW I did the flushing exactly like you said and wil continue doing it like that. Really works wonders !
