Slex, GH Kush & others more.... :)

33 posts in this topic

Hi mates,

I would also like to participate in this test, contributing my bit. I do not have /grow  many copies of GH Kush or Slex, but I would like to share my views and findings with you.

Obviously, I do not participate in the competition for prizes. This monitoring is only to collaborate, without the option of awards.

Plants have now three to four weeks. Most are from seeds but also some cuttings. Now I'm going to do list of varieties:

- Slex
- GH Kush
- Lemon Skunk
- Super Lemon Haze
- Super Lemon Haze U (cross with purple)
- Blueberry U (cross)
- Money Maker
- White Widow (cut)
- Critical Bilbo (cut)
- Jamaican Blueberry (cut)
- Great White Shark U (cross)
- Maybe some more but now I do not remember lol

The some varieties are crosses, personal crosses. Are regular seeds that have sexed, now all females (I have a male apart from BB for upcoming junctions).
The coss are with a special purple or a selection of blueberry, I really want to see results.

All plants are in pots with 6 liters coco substrate (coir). Maximum and minimum temperature of 29º and 18º, humidity 55% - 80%  (95% in night).
I will now connect the  extractors for low moisture (for have about 40 / 50%).

Nutrients are test, some strains are with Powder Feeding and other strains are different fertilizers, specific for coconut.

Roots are very happy :)
lighting is with 400w HM , but now, today, begins flowering. In a few days, I will use 600w HPS

The plants now measured about 30 centimeters, are perfect for me, to begin to bloom:

WOW. you mean business Jose :-) Great to see a real pro growing SLEX. Just checked Zamnesia today to get an idea for future growth. The Spring crop so to say...Just fired out all feminized seeds from seedbanls. Got lots of regular seeds from former growers (incl. the super expensive Jack Herer from sensi seeds) Butthat's for the summer to seperte males from polinating flowering ladies.

Anyway. My goal is to grow some elite seeds and hopefully take at least 2 motherplants  (1 each from the costly seeds).

Barney's Red Diesel 5 seeds for 38 Euro

Jamaican OG from Cali Connection 6 seeds for 80 Euro..ouch

Greenhouse King's Kush 5 seeds 25 Euro (love the taste)

sadly no Chemdog, nor Damnesia- on stock there...

A couple freebies on top

I might change my mind till I actually need new seeds..lol

So you got 20 pots inside that tent. Wonder about the size of the pots. They do look spacey enough. The real question I got is what is the size of your tent ? I tried to squeeze 4 side by side to fit 16 inside my 1m by1m tent, but ended up with 3 to maximum 4 rows of 3 + 12 maximum. 9 big plants in 11 litre pots fill up the tent just perfectly. 12 are possible, but I have to use a couple smaller pots for that and the leaves get all over each other/buds, too.   Looks I made a mistake not getting a bigger one 1,20 by 1,20 hence the sread-A-Wing reflector covers that size.

Still when they are getting big you might have a hard time watering each pot..lol

I must have missed that technique Jose used in a previous grow (as indicated by Old Head).

It will be interesting to see how Jose deals with the crowding.

Maybe staging the plants in a round arena-like construction with a 360-degree hanging HPS in the middle of the tent?

Hope to see...

I had seen a rather expensive-looking similar set-up for hydroponics in the internet a few years back using such a principle (single central HPS serving the plants located in stacked rings around the lamp, with nutrients fed into the feeding tubes around the outside of the system.)  Though, I hadn't seen the results.

Hi mates,

Happy New Year  :santablack:  I have been few days of vacation, but now I'm back  :beach:

No, this tent only have 16 pots than 7 liters (coconut fiber).  I do 4 rows of 4 pots (16 pots) to avoid crowds, although I need more site lol. Is a normal tent 120x120 with 600 hps (electronic regulable), the last weeks in bloom ever use the super lumen.

Plants are between 2-3 weeks of flowering, I forget to overall picture haha but I have some individual photos.

Happy new year my friend!

As usual very nice pictures. That Jamaican Blueberry sounds really nice. Would love to try that.. and the others too of course ;)

I won't open an own thread for one picture so I will post one picture of some GH Kush buds here if you don't mind Jose.

Not the best grow as it was the first grow in that room and some temperature problems.

Here you go:

Indeed, I was able to start a bit earlier already. But your plants are taking off right now also.

And don't forget "Gut Ding will Weile haben." (For all non-german speakers: Good things take time to ripen)

That expöains it - your tent is 1,20 mine 1 m and you got 600 watts, I got only 400 so 12 are the natural limit with pots of your size - 7 litres ? The pictures are beautiful. Makes sense to make seeds on the site once you got a great male. A purple jamaican genetic I guess - Orange Hill :-) ? Purple Skunk ? LOL

hey mate, nice pics and updates!
It noted differences between powder feeding and specific coconut fertilizer?

Question 2, using add  nutrients supplement.like Ca,Mg  to normal nutrition with pwdfeed in flowering time?

We expect to see these beauties a little more up close! ;)

Yeah that is a grow dream come true. Top genetics all doing fine, I like the way you arranged them size wise. I guess the SLEX are the tall one's in front ? (Might as well be SLH, of course) I think SLEX is an even better producer than SLH or am I wrong ? Only grew 2 plants a good while ago and the SLEX pack a lot more punch behind the budding...

Using PDF in coconut in a while (since there hehe) and always very good. Now I try Canna fertilizers and the result is also good (but the difference between buying a PF and 7 different boats Canna nutrients, is abysmal. PF certainly for all my next crop).

And no, I only use PF. I do not use calcium, or mg, or anything ... maybe, if I see an excess, some enzymes, just that. My tap water is good, ec 0.2

Yes SLEX is very similar to SLH in bloom. But the smell is different, a subtle blend of both.
Whenever I use different strains, I leave the sativas in the corners, there work well.

GH KUSH: very broad leaves, not very productive, taste flowers.
Critical bilbo: very thin sheets, 100% sativa structure

Hi all,

Everything is harvested, it has been a normal crop production without major surprises. But very good smells, tastes and magic colors.

Now everything is healing in glass jars, I hope to try soon (one month or less).

I have many, many photos to reveal ... a lot of work too. I'll put photos slowly, not to die in one day...  :drinks:

I hope you like them!!

Do you know that strain is?

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
