  1. Hey! Iam in this contest also and iam very excited to grow the Sweet Valley Kush as I love kushes, but have never grown this. The grow is like usual with the greenhouse mineral feeding in veg and flower. Vegging in 1L pots and moved to 6L pots for flowering. Just a peat, compost and coarse vermiculite mix for media in round net pots. (Last few grows have been without the homemade compost, and now I have rats visiting my compost, so iam kinda fearful to see how it will work). Grown under dimmable 220w 3500K COB LEDs. ATM we're in veg week 2 with 8plants under 50w 5000K COB. After this grow is coming a grow with The Doctor, but maybe I have to squeeze a Blueberry OG grow in between..
  2. That picture on the balcony in Spain.... Man that looks nice
  3. Yeah they are probably having an internal struggle to adapt to the environment. But let's wait and see how they will grow. You should try topping them, as the branching is crazy on this one. They are starting to show sex already?
  4. First proper flush was done last week, second and final will be today and harvesting will start Sunday I hope I think iam in for a pleasant surprise with this harvest :))) I dunno why the pictures look so hazy...
  5. Hey guys this is a GHSC run. Four strains, powder feeding and PK booster from the great GHSC. Super Bud Jack Herer Big Bang Super Lemon Haze In 3,6L fabric pots. Unfertilized peat and coarse vermiculite. 40w exhaust fan 15w circulation fan (X2) 8-220w dimmable DIY COB LED (4x citizen clu048 1212). Great new light for some great new strains. This is part of my search for the new favorite strains in my grow room. The big bang and super lemon haze are free promotion seeds and both had bad germination. So instead of the planned 20seedlings only 15popped. So in a panic I cloned my quick flowering mothers and hope to add these clones to the flowering room a week or two later then the seedlings. This is a classic SOG style grow with no veg and many small plants. I hope they will fill out the grow room nicely with many tight colas.
  6. Yeah this yield was so low because of the obvious uneven canopy and too crowded grow room. Also some of the varieties are more sativa dominant and I should've given those a few more weeks to flower for higher yield. The last few grows has been fast fast and so I only turn of lights for the day iam harvesting, which will be little less then 24hrs total darkness. But I actually like to go that full week of darkness, but it is not possible when I want to flower next batch immediately I don't water for minimum of 3-5days before harvesting - this drying time I suppose is dependent on your media and pot size. If you want proper yields, go with one single strain. Mono-cropping really is the way to grow indoors IMO. But these grows have just been a lot of fun for me while trying my new growroom Picture of Blueberry OG in a bowl.. defo my favourite from this grows, and Critical Super Silver Haze is close second.
  7. So the next flowering cycle is about to start. Same setup as before: 217w COB LED Cree cxa3070 actively cooled 30w circulation fans 40w exhaust fan Growroom 120*110, with 100*100tray Fertilized peat/spagnum mixed with some coarse vermiculite. Fertilizers during flowering will be GHSC powder feeding short flowering and PK booster. Sadly iam out of GHSC BioBloom. The veg cycle was completely organic. They are looking okay as we enter flowering alittle small, but I hope they will fill out their pots. Strangely two plants in back left show leaves clawing. I think this is a mix of too much fluctuations in watering, feeding and too temperatures. This run is very unprofessional with one plant per strain and I just learned 11plants is alittle too much for my lights, but still I will try anyways The strains are: Blue Dream Humboldt Seed organization Blueberry OG Barney's Farm Seeds Godberry Freedom of Seeds Original Amnesia Delicious Seeds Critical Super Silver Haze Critical cheese Dinafem Seeds C99 G13labs Seeds Dinafem Seeds Pineapple Express G13labs Seeds White Rhino Greenhouse Seeds Company Louis' Haze (the Louie's skunk renamed) OG Kush Amsterdam Coffeeshop I had 100%germimation success on the 7freebies from attitude seedbank. Then there is two seeds that have vegged one week longer, I got from a buddy. Two clones have vegged together with those two seeds and these four plants are in 9,8L pots. The 7UFOs are in 6,2L pots and vegged for two weeks. This is part of my hunt for a new strain and only the best will be kept to compete in following grows against 5 different GHSC strains. Along with some test of the organic vs non-organic GHSC feeding. Iam very excited and we have an amazing year ahead of us if all goes as planned.
  8. Hey man , had a 1month hiatus from the forum The flowering is going slower with the mineral powder feeding then the organic (at least for me in these last couple of flower runs). Iam extending the flowering period for this grow by at least 2weeks (so total will be >11weeks flowering). Pictures are from week 8, 9 and beginning 10. In the last couple of weeks the buds have started to swell nicely and the plants have started self cannibalising hard.
  9. Nice vegetative growth this week and bud sites are starting to develop. I did a little bottom defoliation.
  10. Hypoaspis miles will be added today as preventive. I gave them a neem spray last week because I saw spider mites in the veg room. Maybe one last neem spray this week. Now they call the predatory mites Stratiolaelaps scimitus .. I don't understand why these name changes happen - it only give rise to misunderstandings. Also on an unrelated note: I got a dry sift tumbler - and woaw... I just wanna stay home and smoke this delicious and smooth kief all day no more messing around with trim wet by water or butter - dry sift is my new favourite for sure
  11. Start week 3 of flowering with no veg. Topped them at end of week 2. For me the Super Bud is really looking nice. I have it them a watering with the bioenhancer and it seems to have made them abit happier. This weekend I hope to finish my 400L worm farm - this will be epic, a lot of vermicompost for future grows :)) There are two plants that look strange, one big bang and one jack herer. The JH is growing very slowly and the BB is developing some deficiencies. Also it seems my future mothers are already showing favorable traits.
  12. Looking great I hope they will flower beautifully under the Mediterranean sun
  13. The weigh in is here Original Amnesia 20gr White Rhino 7gr Godberry 19gr Louis's Haze 23gr Pineapple Express 13gr OG Kush 18gr Critical Super Silver Haze 23gr Critical Cheese 23gr C 99 18gr Blueberry OG 23gr Blue Dream 22gr 209grams total. Decent yield compared to how the grow looked with so many strains. Clearly my favorite of the batch (the critical Super Silver Haze) is still my favorite The blueberry OG have a disappointing taste and the critical cheese has that real nice cheese smell. The OG Kush had slot better taste then expected. The rest of the strains are sorta nothing too special. The white rhino stressed out or something, it never grew bigger then half size of all the other plants, I haven't figured out why.
  14. Hey gang One week into flowering with no veg and things are looking okay, but abit slow growth. Anyways my last grow showed me that everything happened after week 5 with this powder feeding. Two super lemon haze seedlings was added now because they took longer to sprout. So stay tuned Should I remove the ideal holders for better efficiency? Maybe some light is lost by the ideal holder. I removed the reflectors because I needed the spread more.
  15. Yes, the search function does not work on phones. If you rotate the screen, on some phones, the search bar will come into view and you can interact with it. Else try on the computer. But this is a huge problem for me also
  16. Just beautiful, nice fattening up.
  17. Just cut off everything at the bottom that don't get enough light and ventilation. And in my experience you can't overdo the training and topping in the veg phase. When flowering comes many many colas will develop and need support.
  18. Tomato gardeners will often use different root stocks from faster, resistant and stronger growing strains and graft the desired strains onto. They even developed robots to make this grafting process! Another very good example is roses. Almost all roses in gardens are made by grafting some desired strains onto a Rosa multiflora root stock. And actually with roses this graft is transplanted to be below ground completely. In my country we call the bottom half the ground/foundation stem. Often times people want to avoid this ground stem from shooting because these shoots are useless for different reasons, but only have a good root system. It is also done with apples and pears. But I agree the characteristics of either strains grafted should stay the same.
  19. Damn smashed my phone.... So I don't have any pictures of how they looked in the final weeks of flowering. I did manage to get one picture of the blueberry OG that got some real nice color and weight towards the end. This grow is pretty much over now. The plants was harvested yesterday. I will make a post about the yield and with some bud pictures. I think I might be in for a surprise about the yield. I have to show you how those miserable clones from the last picture look now. I chugged the OG Kush, Original Amnesia, Godberry, Louis' Haze and Blue Dream because they did not satisfy my needs (mostly too long flowering periods). The ones on the picture in veg is Critical Super Silver Haze, blueberry OG, Critical Cheese, Pineapple Express, White Rhino and C99. Who will compete in the future against the ones from my next flower run. My next flower run is already in progress and I will make a new thread about that soon, so stay tuned. Now I have a new phone and hope to continue posting The new phone should have a better camera so try and check if you see that
  20. sounds like a decent plan. But first check if the soil is wet or too dense for proper aeration of the roots. And if the plants is even placed in a proper environment. It looks like it could use some more light and ventilation.
  21. Hey Jose Iam would also be happy to participate. Sweet Valley Kush for me if possible. Thank you.
  22. Yea that looks like a deficiency. But if that was my compost and worm castings it would be burning the plant. I would double check that compost and maybe give a feeding of balanced liquid nutrient.
  23. Nice fat leaves let's hope they develop fat buds also I hope to go to Colorado one day.
  24. Yea in the water like others said. But some seeds will never germinate - do you trust your buyer? Maybe they sell you bad seeds. Along with the glass of water I like to scratch my seeds alittle with sandpaper - making a scarification, this also helps Al
  25. Yea hehe We're in bloom actually 5weeks now,but flower development has been very slow. I got my DIY COB light and assembled it on the frame yesterday. Iam absolutely in love with this COB technology. Such nice light. Iam using the Citizen CLU048 1212 now instead of the Cree CXA3070, and to be honest the Citizen chips looks better. Brighter shine and nicer spectrum (this is my subjective meaning of course). This run has really stretched out way more then I ever thought possible, so IAM fighting with this. Cannot wait for next grow, maybe I will get a decent spacing and canopy Last pic is from veg room 37x55cm with one Citizen CLU048 1212 50w - the clones just came out of the aquarium and look like shait for a number of fuck ups I did while they were in the aquarium.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
