  1. Hi everyone, Came across this article about Open Source Breeding. Really interesting approach to address a real problem Are you aware of any open source license for breeders?
  2. Absolutely. We are 100% on the same page. And yes if large corporations with the support of government want to confiscate cultivars, they will likely be able to do so... sadly. To me, the most effective approach is to make it financially irrelevant. If we stay in a world where so many strain exist that the ROI of a patent is negative, no patent will be applied for. This seems only possible in a context of many public domain strains in the first place
  3. Did you read the article? It's not about "stealing patents". You can't steal a patent. It's about securing existing strains in the public domain so that patents can't be issued, and better, become irrelevant all together
  4. Found THIS ARTICLE on the topic. Actually breeders don't need to patent their strains but rather secure them in the public domain to avoid large corporations patenting and actually stealing them... What do you think ?
  5. Just wanted to let y’all know that I completed trades and ordered a couple clones on that site I mention in the above post, and everything went super smooth. I recommend giving it a try if looking for landrace beans etc. Thanks for all your advices.
  6. Thanks G22. FYI. After googling for some days... i managed to land on a site called I feel like a child in candy store on there... quite amazing.
  7. Hello! Was wondering where you guys go hunt for hard to find seeds (sold out, legendary strains that are no longer distributed, or simply small batch breeders packs...). I was on FB groups for a while but got ripped off twice and decided to stop. IG has been better but I got unlucky again recently... Hope it's not a trend on IG. Been using forums but it's hard to find what your after and I heard of people being ripped off too on some other forums. Any other option you guys use??? Thanks
  8. Hello everyone, Happy to be here! Always on the hunt for rare seeds and keen to learn the hunting techniques! Thanks

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
