  1. This is my first post in this forum. I thought it a good idea to start by some background regarding my growing experience and history. I am a mid 30s adult that live in South Africa and have been growing for personal use for more than 10 years. I fell in love with the plant the moment I took my first drag. What intrigued me was the complexity, veriaty and diversity of the plant and of course the effect. It was only later in my early 20s that I started my research and experimentation in growing. As I live in South Africa where we have lots of sunshine, I mainly grew outdoor and mostly local strains where I got the seeds from the local pot I smoked at the time. Since then I have grown a number of different amazingly diverse strains, all natural and organic..... somewhat since n use vegetable fertilizer from time to time to nurture and replenish my soil.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
