  1. I have heard Arjan in a video mention the rarity of red pistils. What is the history, terpene profile, effects, lore, and stories behind the Cannabis with red pistils? I have seen many plants with pink/dark pink advertised as red and even one image on Instagram with a very photoshop-looking red pistils. Is Thai and the screaming sativa associated with red pistils? Is this Colombian and Punta Roja strain naturalized to this area after being imported from Thai the real history? Does anyone have examples of their own red-pistil strains? Why is the red pistil pheno such a fabled item?
  2. What is the significance of a Male x Female cross; for example, what is particularly extraordinary about Neville's Haze x Hawaiian Snow vs Hawaiian Snow x Neville's Haze? I made my first cross and have about 200 seeds which I want to plant all plants to create my F2 seedstock for (?10000 seeds) and then do some selections. The purpose of my question is to fill my head with more knowledge. Happy days, peace, and love, and stay high
  3. Hi everyone, Came across this article about Open Source Breeding. Really interesting approach to address a real problem https://terpenesandtesting.com/open-source-breeding-is-crucial-to-the-full-potential-of-the-cannabis-industry/ Are you aware of any open source license for breeders?
  4. A project I have spent 2 years on, this is 3rd generation. This is the most uniform and the keeper for the next and final cross back with original C Q male. Flowering began early July. Aiming for harvest between 7th-21st September. It will be a seed harvest rather than sensi. Next year I am going to grow the seeds from this and hopefully have a stable outdoor skunk for uk growers FINALLY. Who knows, perhaps available to the masses in a year, let's see. Enjoy the ride. Il keep checking back to answer questions and mingle. Peace. X
  5. Hello everyone! Its been a while that i was around on the forums but back again to share my breeding project. I have 10 seeds Manga Rosa (Reg) and 10 seeds Colombian Gold (Reg) and 2 seeds of The Church (Fem) going on. Got the Manga Rosa and Colombian Gold from a Brazilian friend. Hoping they will germ all..... The plan is too keep the Manga Rosa and Colombian Gold clean to keep the strains. Then i want to try to cross both with The Church to see what happens. Its my first breeding project so fingers crossed. Pics and more will be posted later on. Peace!
  6. hey guys, pictures will be posted today of my current project. second run on this particular strain I am doing. so, I came across a load of seeds from a friend to play around with, iv noticed phenoes. 1 being really small but lanky, thin leaves bud incredible budding time, it starts with calaxes almost the same time as the preflowers, finishes in 6 weeks. pheno 2, heavy indica genetics, really sturdy, classic kush smell, no resin for the first 5 weeks, lots of white hairs and typically finishes a bit longer than the more sativa looking?? can't say why this happens as I don't know, but big yielder compared to the other 3 phenos, also, the best smell. 3, a short sativa, bud shape, smell, flowering style completely different from the other 2, sweet lemon smell, and really big crystals. now, I kept a clone from the sativa dominant, and the indica dominant, the sativa was male, the indica was female, the seeds from this cross are now 6 weeks into flower, cutting kept from all. what I have now, seems a really nice hybrid of the 2, smallish hybrid leaves with really nice cone shaped lemony main cola which I lollypopped. il post pictures within a couple of hours, but for first try, im really enjoying it and have not been put of in the slightest, delving deeper into this world, and can't see myself turning back anytime soon. pictures to come. please, any tips will be greatly appreciated.
  7. Hello Strain Hunter's and collectors, Last fall I got seeds from a nice sativa that my friend brought back from Jamaica. I do not know what strain it is, but I will have to ask my friend for all he knows when we talk... I have several males and females, and all look almost exactly the same in veg. I put a male into my greenhouse several weeks ago and it is now about 4 ft tall and flowering in its original 2 liter container. I plan on crossing it with my original cut of DJ Short Blue Moonshine first, one of my favorite indica dominant plants of all time. It is almost a lost strain as of now. I also want to cross my males and females of the original Jamaican to get more seeds of the same strain. They look like the most stable genes I have ever seen, so they should breed together nicely and produce the same phenos. Here's some shots of the flowering male for now:

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
