  1. High Guys, I am very happy to present my recently started grow featuring CRITICAL ORANGE PUNCH 10x ED ROSENTHAL SUPERBUD 1x I was looking for a strain which would yield quite well, because I do not have the oportunity to grow permanently. Besides the yield it was very important to grow something with an interesting flavour. To make a big harvest is nice, but if it doesnt taste well then I am fucked up with every joint I smoke, so I am always looking out for strains with characteristic flavour and after hours of researching and complaining (its like an alcoholic in a whiykey bar forced to choose just one, lol) I made my choice with COP from Dutch Passion. What got me interested was the description of the aroma, being described as a mix of hash/lcitrus/fruity. I always loved weed which tastes a bit like hash and I love weed with citrus flavour, so I hope this will be noticeable at the end. The other thing that made me choose this strain was the effect of the smoke. It is described as quite long lasting, relaxing and a good mix between brain stimulation and physical effect. When I read about this strain it made the impression it could be in some way like the white widdow I grew once and I loved its combination too. Well, we will see.......At the moment the ladies are in flowering day 10, but I will try to begin this report from scratch even though I dont have photos from every single day since germination........ THE SETUP (ask if you want more info...) - Homebox XL - 600 Watt with Adjust-a-wing reflector - 72watt tubes for germination - Adequate equip for air circulation - 0,3l pots fot germination -11l pots - special soil for germination - Bio Bizz AllMix - Bio Bizz Grow and Bloom and TopMax - PH- (unfortunately, but I am forced to) THE CLIMATE Temperature: 26,7 / 20,5 Humidity: 50 / 65 (depending on the weather outside) Temperature is fine, nothing to worry about. But humidity could be a problem later on. Normally it is about 50-52 percent which is still okay, but depending on the weather it can rise to a level which makes me worry. If someone has a hint how to decreease it without paying lots of money I would be thankful. I guess I will try out putting a bowl of rice or salt in the tent and assure extra ventilation to avoid budrot. THE START I ordered a package of 10 fem seeds and received the Ed Rosenthal Superbud as a bonus which got me pretty excited. I was always interested in this strain and now I am able to check it out. Thanks for the gift! As you can see from the setup, I am using small pots for germination as well as 3 24watt tubes. I am always doing this for the first week (round about) because it would be a waste of energy and way too much light for the little babies. After the first pair of leaves start to develop well, I am changing to the 600Watt, using 24/7 ventilation to strenghten the plant. I am also using Root Juice during the first 2 weeks to help the plant develop them quickly. GERMINATION Being put directly into germination soil it took about 3 days until every plant came out of the ground. I think it is the best way to germinate seeds and avoid to damage the root if you germinate them in wet tissues for example. FIRST FUCK-UP:) Unfortunately there was one cripple among the Critical Orange Punch plants. I gave it a chance, but after 2 weeks I noticed it would be way to weak to keep it in the tent. This never happened before, but it is ok. So 10 plants are in the tent, thanks to the Ed Rosenthal Superbud Bonus:) Actually, as things are looking now I am somehow "happy" for the cripple, because I am really short on space......I didnt know the strain and really underestimated the growth and judged it as a more indica dominant variety..... VEGETATION The plants really developed well and quite fast after I changed to the 600w, so after almost 2 weaks I decided to change them into their final 11l pots. Some may say it is difficult to chance them from 0,3l directly into 11l, but as I have to keep time in mind and didnt want to stress them 2 times in 4 weaks I decided to do so. The plants seemed to be very happy with their new home and started to grow well. After almost exactly 4 weaks I switched to 12/12, because the "tiniest" plant already reached 45cm and the tallest one 60cm!! What I could already notice is that this strain seems to have 3 phenotypes.....As I will add photos later on, you will see what I mean. So far there was no problem at all apart from the cripple that I removed and the humidity some days. FLOWERING As mentioned above, ladies are now in Flowering Day 10 and today I am having a difficult choice.....2 of the plants will be removed because they start to show male signs too. This is really bad, bacause they looked interesting and different from the others. But I prefer to remove them before there will be pollination all over. The one plant showing male signs would have made a big headbut and I was thinking twice about removing the pollensacks and pay attention, but the other plants look so good so far that I really dont want to mess them up. So guys, thanks for reading this lot of text.....feel free to comment, ask, give me hints......a respectful form of comunication is very appreciated;) And please be a little patient, because I cannot upload photos right now.
  2. Hello and Welcome to my First blog...... Thanks for stopping by, I'm EastCoastCannaCure(Ryan), am in my early 30's and have been learning from growing for 12 years at this point. Basically I'm 12years inexperienced as we are just learning so much about cannabis at a mind blowing rate these days, and the leaps and bounds being taken each day by notables such as Remo, and Horatio, the guys at StrainHunters and GreenHouse Seeds for some amazing genetics, that a vast part of the true "experience" and knowledge is still out there and being attained and sought after. With colleges being started and the science and techniques themselves being truly explored, and the amount of knowledge being gained, it sure is a great time to be a part of such a positive change and developing a quality and natural medicine. I have somewhat trickled over from the forums (after only one post I had been updating) as the schedule I keep and the time I currently spend with my favorite ladies seems to transfer over well with the context and delivery of a blog.. well we will see anyway. I will continue to update both of them and see which one works best. Now.. why I'm here. I maintain at this moment 3 grow tents 2 are 4 x 4 and one is 8x4. I just moved and had to start from seed, as quality clones locally were not available at the time and luckily enough the great folks at GreenHouseSeeds/StrainHunters gifted me a pack of Super Critical, The Church, and the long flowering Neville's Haze so I could share my grow experience with these strains to you.. each in its own set of lighting (I use both LED, HPS, and CFL( for mothers and clones)). I like to run side by sides and test different strains in different ways. I plan on doing a advanced nutrients vs remo nutrients side by side very soon. I have always been a loyal Advanced Nutrients user, but a friend of mine introduced me to Remo Nutrients and a side by side he was conducting... and I must say Id have to be a fool not to give Remo a try(I have not yet tried any of StrainHunters nutrients but do plan on trying them and testing results with them as well as I do like their packaged approach and would love to test its simplicity and how well it produces healthy, deficient free medicine.) I guess in this post I'll detail what I have currently in progress and where I plan to be and of course how I am getting there. Basically right now I have popped 3 Super Critical Beans and I had one Super Sensi Star + Critical bean left from a previous grow and wanted a mother from that so I popped that as well. I am growing them in a top and bottom feed 4 plant DWC-Recirculating hydroponic system, they were seedling'd under a 600w LED and then veg'd under 2 600W LEDS and 1 600W HPS in the middle, and are now in week 2 of Flower with a 1200W LED and a 600W HPS in a 8x4 tent. My next post will detail some pictures of leading up to where I'm at, and some information on my techniques and how they work for me.. I am open to suggestions as there is definitely more then one way to skin a cat, and yes some of those ways are simply proven to be more efficient or more beneficiary then others. Stay tuned.
  3. The Seedlings are all White Lemon, only 3 of the 4 look viable. They are 4 weeks old from the time I germinated them to what they look like right now. The Seedlings were originally potted in 0.45L Planter Bags with Seed Raising Mix. Pots have half an inch of pumice on the bottom, coco perlite is used as the medium. They are suspended in a static feed mix. The Grow is done in Autopots running a 13mm mainline down to 6mm inlet using Canna Cocos A & B nutrients. (47 liter reservoir). x2 400w Digital Balast's, dimable to 250w, 275w, 400w & 440w. I run x2 250w (500w combined) for Vege, and then back to 400w, after 3 weeks of flower I crank it up to 440w (880w combined). I supplement with FlairForm CMX as Cocos A & B tends to lack these core elements during the regenerative stage (first 3 weeks of flowering, also when they will stretch the most). I use the following additives: General Hydroponics Floralicous , House & Garden Roots Excelurator, House & Garden Aminos Treatment (These are Organic so need to flush main line once a week, or blockages occur), Shooting Powder for week 5 (single strength, makes the bud, bud over existing bud adding to its size and weight) & week 7 (double strength, makes the bud, bud over existing bud adding to its size and weight again, but stonger to give it a final push), PK 13/14 (week 5, adds weight, size to buds and resin production), Drip Clean (Stops organic build up from sticking to pipes and makes weekly flush easier), FlairForm Silika Magic (Good to keep stems strong, allows higher temps). Planning on getting Canna Boost for next grow, to decrease harvest time. Investigating to see if GHS Power Feeding is any better than Cocos A & B, thus simplifying my process. It takes about 3 hours to make up a cocos feed because you have to wait 2 hours after A & B has been mixed to add additives, which in turn have to be diluted into 1 liter of water, plus 2 liters for silkia which must be ph'd to 6.0 before adding to reservoir. 35 liters would mean 35 minus x amount of liters because of additives. Long process, get awesome results. Powder would eliminate the need for the long wait, thus making my life better lol. The plant next to the seedlings is Arjans Haze, I plan to use as mother and make cuttings to put on a bench I plan to make to put on the skirts of my shade and have a bunch of little ones to flower as well, kinda grow some treat buds In the grow room starting from back is White Rhino, then Super Critical, then White Rhino & then White Rhino again. First grow I did Super Critical & Green Poison, I got 13 Oz's Second grow I did all Super Critical & I got 16 OZ's (x1 Pound) (was very happy) This is my Third grow this time around. Plan my Forth to be White Lemon I like to bend over my main stems and SCROG them, fill all my space with as my laterals as possible to allow for an even canopy. After 3 weeks of flower I like to lollipop them, keep a foot from the top node and everything else gets stipped away. Lower canopy is not needed, thus why this is done to allow the plant to concentrate on producing big buds at the top. I use a TurboKlone to make cuttings. Super Critical takes 21 days to root and only makes root nubs. White Rhino takes 9 days to get full on roots. They say White Lemon takes 4 days, can't wait to try I'll keep posting updates...
