Time for a progress update on the bud drying on the stalk from the 4 Sweet Valley Kush plants.

I left the dehumidifier running and moved it out of the grow tent and it has definitely helped to dry out the buds.

This morning I checked a bud and it just snapped off the stalk easily.

So I switched off the dehumidifier emptied the little water tank which was about half full with condensed water and then put the dehumidifier away in a cupboard ready for its next use in a months time when the next run of SVK goes into flower.

I weighed the trim which was 20g and put it into a Kilner jar with the trim from the two outdoor girls about 5g so in total 25g of trim.

I then started to cut the buds off the stalks and cut up the stalks into small pieces about an inch long ready to use for making Canna butter.

I put the bud from each plant into separate Kilner jars.

Here are some images I took.

So the final dry weights for the 4 Sweet Valley Kush plants was.

Trim = 20g
SVK-B#1 = 26.2g
SVK-B#2 = 28.2g
SVK-M#1 = 26.2g
SVK-M#2 = 29.5g
Stalks = 56g

The 4 new Sweet Valley Kush seedlings are growing well the dirt in their pots was dry tonight and it has been 2 days since their last drink.

So I mixed up 2ml or root stimulant and 2ml of grow feed in 1 litre of water and then I gave each plant 6 10ml syringe full of feed and water mix the syringe holds about 15ml when full so it works out about 150ml per seedling.

I will start a new journal over in the indoor section for the new seedlings grow.

I will also update in a few days with a smoke report. :pleasantry::smoke:

Thanks for the kind words @R.G.S and @OG.Naj

I had a little spliff of some of SVK-M#2 as I watched the Singapore Grand Prix highlights on TV last night, it was nice, but not sure how to describe the taste, I will leave the bud in the Kilner jars for a week to let things settle before I do a smoke report.

I have a bit of commercial I bought last week so I will keep smoking that in the meantime :smoke::pleasantry:

Yesterday I emptied the root pouches the 4 Sweet Valley Kush plants were grown in and separated the dirt from the root balls of each plant.

Roots from all 4 Sweet Valley Kush plants.

24sept-2019-svk-roots.jpg

Once I had separated the roots from the dirt I then removed as much dirt and root material stuck to the inside of the pouches and then I rinsed them all with cold water to remove the dirt residue from indoe the root pouches and clean them ready for the next run.

All 4 root pouches nice and clean ready for the next run drying in the back yard.

24sept-2019-root-pouches-cleaned.jpg

Just like the roots from the 2 outdoor Sweet Valley Kush plants all the roots from the 4 indoor Sweet Valley Kush look nice and healthy unfortunately I removed the markers so I do not know which root is from which plant.

There is no visible difference between the roots of the plants fed bio powder feed and the plants fed with bio powder feed, which demonstrates clearly that neither the powder feed type is better or provides some sort of an advantage.

The bio and mineral powder feeds basically do the same job, allowing us guys to grow vigorous and healthy plants from the veg through flowering, the bio feed is definitely the easiest to use, you can definitely describe it as fire and forget.

But you are basically along for the ride once you apply the bio feed so you do need to be a bit careful if the dirt is hot, whereas with the mineral powder feed you can easily adjust the dosage of the feed if the dirt is hot it does allow you a finer level of control.

At the end of the day the guys at Green House have definitely achieved their goal of keeping it simple that is for sure, storing the powder feed is easy and as long as you keep it dry it will not go bad, compared with liquid feeds that have a limited shelf life.

With the liquid feeds you are also paying for the water which we can get free out of the tap.

This being the first time I have used the powder feed I am well impressed with the results and how easy it is to use I would definitely recommend it without hesitation GHS have done a fantastic job creating their powder feed and additive range.

Happy growing...  :pleasantry:

@R.G.S Nunca pensé en hacer ungüento con las raíces hasta que me preguntes, las he puesto en el contenedor de basura del jardín, así que las sacaré, las lavaré y las secaré.

@R.G.S I never thought of making ointment with the roots until you ask me, I have put them in the garden waste bin so I will get them out and wash them off and dry them out.

I pulled the roots from the Sweet Valley Kush plants out of the garden waste bin and removed as much of the bits of dirt left stuck to the roots as I could and then I got a bucket and used the hose pipe to wash them and blast the rest of the dirt out of the roots.

The jet of water actually destroyed the Root It sponge plugs and tore them to bits, once I had cleaned the roots I put them in the shed in the back yard to dry out.

In the meantime I need to do some research on recipes for making ointment with them.

As they say every mickle meks a muckle  :good:

The buds from all 4 of the Sweet Valley Kush has been sat in Kilner jars for a week and each day I have opened the jars for an hour or so to let the bud breathe and release any extra moisture and humidity.

Last night I decided it was time to do a smoke report on the buds from each plant, what the aroma is like and how it tastes when smoked, each spliff will contain 0.5g or bud and some dry fan leaves not much about 15%, because I don't smoke shag.

I managed to do 3 plants by 11pm and by then I was well red and feeling tired so I crashed out and I did the last plant this morning to complete my smoke report on the 4 Sweet Valley Kush plants.

I will split this reort into single posts per plant otherwise this will be a tediously long post. :good::pleasantry:

Sweet Valley Kush - SVK-M#1

To me the aroma of the bud is sour, earthy and herbal the aroma is not strong I think it is the sour note that sort of mutes the aroma.

For me the taste when smoked is a very light or subtle herbal thing.

Sweet Valley Kush - SVK-M#2

To me the aroma of the bud is sour, earthy and herbal like SVK-M#1 but a little stronger or slightly more defined.

For me the taste when smoked is a light herbal thing like SVK-M#1 but a bit stronger.

Sweet Valley Kush - SVK-B#1

To me the aroma of the bud is definitely stronger than the mineral fed plants, its a sour, herbal earthy aroma that is a bit more complex to me the sour aspect of the aroma hits first then you get the herbal earthy aspect.

For me the taste when smoked is a smoother sour herbal earthy taste that is a bit stronger than the mineral fed plants I think that the sour aspect has a little bit more punch to it and the smoke itself is smoother.

Sweet Valley Kush - SVK-B#2

To me the aroma of the bud is definitely stronger than SVK-B#1 and the mineral fed plants, the aroma is herbal and earthy and the sour aspect is less prominent or more of a background thing than with the other plants.

For me the taste when smoked is earthy and herbal the sour note is not as prominent and the aroma is definitely stronger than SVK-B#1 and to me a nicer aroma and the smoke itself is the smoothest of all the plants from the first draw to the last right down at the roach end of the spliff.

I am not great at describing the aroma and taste of the buds when smoked, but how it tastes now is probably not how it will taste in a months time, also I have noticed that the taste after smoking a spliff often seems to develope over a few hours and become more clear somehow.

I also think it will be better for me to do 1 smoke report per plant per day next time, rather than rushing to checkout each plant.

I have really enjoyed growing the Sweet Valley Kush it is a nice strain and I am grateful to the guys at Green House for the chance to checkout these genetics and experiment by doing my first run of photoperiod plants in my little grow tent.

Sweet Valley Kush is a nice strain to grow I already have my second run on the go with and a journal going too.

Happy smoking...  :drinks::pleasantry::D:smoke:
