PIC UPDATE - 1 WEEK LATER

Hi guys - just to let you see the progress plants have made after all your help, they seem alot healthier, leaves are alot bigger and seem they seem to be responding to the organic growth enhancer which i have been using 2ml per 1litre of warm water - still all advice more than welcome - its good to have buds

I am not sure; one looks alright, but that soil looks very dry to me. Three weeks is a long time for seedlings to go without water. Put you finger into the earth and it is feels dry at about two inches down, then water. It does look like you have a mineral deficiency in one of the plants. I would foliar feed all of them with a half strength nutrient solution, making sure to spray under the leaves. Is the soil light and airy? if not condition with perlite. I think they do need a good watering.

I hope this helps;

I gave them a water last night and they seem a bit more perky today. Hopefully they will make a good recovery, the soil was really dry all the way through, I guess i took not wanting to over-water to the extreme

hey bro next time transplanting try sunshine mix #4 or a soilless mix with a lot of perlite and peat moss and you can water everyday as long as your drip trays are dry you'll be golden and use mycorazae fungi and beneficial bacterias in your soil and your soil trouble should go away and stay away hope that helps bro

Hey Greenthumb - thanks for that... I have been thinking what to transplant into, previous grows i had used cactus compost but am thinking of a different type of medium this time, just waiting til the lights go back on to have a look at them

Looking good, but yeah a bit dry and tuff soil i think ;)

I also agree , transplanting to a richer soil premixed soil , or mixing some perlite or sand , and some compost, would resolve the issue , also monitoring the regular watering and its evaporation is the most important factor :)

Standard garden centre compost is no way near good enough!!! It doesn't have enough good nutrition in it for a start, you'll have to start feeding your plants right form the start with standard compost! I could go on all day about this a write you a whole list of why you shouldn't buy B&Q compost but i'll get straight to the point.

Your growing one of the fastest growing plants in the world under enhanced conditions to bring out the best potential of the plant, that means you have to use the best food also! What is the point getting everything else right and not your soil??? Would you feed an athlete junk food? You could... but the results wouldn't be as good! Thats all I'm gona say really ask anybody else here if you want quality product you have to start with quailty ingredients! For the sake of £20 you could double your yield!

Ares i take your view on board but i can only say what works for me,after useing a few of the so called specialists soil i met an old gardener who advised me on this stuff,so i`ve used it since and i think the results are outstanding. Allows for good drainage which means more oxygen to root mass, better nutrient up take and all round healthy plant.

This is just my opinion feel free to blow it apart,i enjoy a good read and i might just learn something along the way.

1st thing... nice bud! ;) lol n loving the Rockstar, drink far 2much of that n Monster at the mo.

Anyways you are spot on with the aeration, its the one thing allot of soil mixes fail on! The fact you add clay pebbels is great, hold moisture, but not to much and alows pockets of air. Much like perlite but just bigger. You are also using a proper feed which is great, I cringe when I hear of people using miracle grow, baby bio or tomato feed!!! The 1000w of light can only help top that off, I take it you have quite a large growing area? Oh and whats the White Rhino like on the odor scale to grow? Currently growing G13 Haze and its getting uber smelly and thats with a 6" fan and filter running 24/7 and an ozone generator to catch any leakages!

All in all I'd say to everyone keep experimenting and tweeking, its the only way to learn. Then write about it on here and we all learn from each other too! :)

Cheers Ares, smell wasn`t to bad up until last 2 weeks then it stunk ,now its drying it`s even worse!

Tried to contain with carbon filters but it still REEKS(Scottish for smells). Maybe invest in ozone gen for next time.

Got White Widow on the go and it`s gettin stinky!

Fully agree on " keep experimenting and tweeking, its the only way to learn"

Peace

Aye I ken what reeks means... I was born in Edinburgh lol Dont live in Scotland now tho :S

Ozone generators are good but not really that safe for humans to be in the same room with for a long time! O3 (ozone) is pretty nasty stuff and does its dam best to loose that extra oxygen atom anyway it can by oxidizing something i.e. bacteria, fungus, shit in the air, pollen great obviously but if you breathe allot of it in it turns to nitric acid in your lungs. So if your gona use it make sure your well ventilated, as you already seem to be and in a room where the door is closed and peeps dont spend allot of time in there!

Sorry dude, plants look much better, keep the lights close so they don`t stretch to much and maybe think about repotting end of next week, think i saw a little burn mark on the leaf tip? a little flush wouldn`t do any harm then let them do there thing for a few days before feeding.

Keep posting i`ll be watching out for monsters in 12 weeks or so!!

thanks guys..... they are continuing to look good and healthy, they are in john innes seedling soil so its a good mix of things like peat and moss, i have experimented with a few different soils and although cannabis is a weed i believe you should get the best soil possible, if you just get any old muck then it can be a dangerous place for little seedlings as all sorts of bacteria can start forming or can already be in the medium.

These little girls will be calling for a transplanting soon, i like to leave them in the original pot and just cut the bottom off and repot into bigger pot - it seems to make the stem thicker.
i want to get a good soil or soil like medium for them, i have thought alot about canna coco or even bat guarana and mix of perlite. In the past i have used mix of cactus soil and azeala soil and had fairly good results but i really want to use something else this time round.

I have also got a home made hydroponics kit and bottles of liquid oxegen and all that jazz but i am sticking to the soil this time round for sure.
