gasmeter Posted March 17, 2020 Author Share Posted March 17, 2020 This morning the dirt in the root pouch of Jack Herer #3 was dry and she fely nice and light so I mixed 0.5g hybrid powder feed and 0.6g booster per litre and I made up 2 litres of the feed solution which I gave to Jack Herer #3 and then I put her back into the grow tent under the LED to soak up the rays. The dirt in the root pouches of Jack Herer #1 and #2 was dry and they both felt nice and light so it was time to harvest the plants. Here are some images I took as I harvested the plants. gasmeter Posted March 19, 2020 Author Share Posted March 19, 2020 Yesterday I got a phone call from my consultants secretary to let me know the surgery to remove the broken plate on my tibia next Tuesday has been cancelled so I am a bit gutted about it, but I overstand it is better to be safe than sorry so it is now back to waiting for this crisis to pass and a new date for the surgery. At least now I can pop some beans and get the ball rolling on my next grow, so I need to weigh up my options, I am thinking 2 Exodus Cheese and 2 Green House Cheese. Yesterday morning the dirt in the root pouch of Jack Herer #3 was dry and she felt nice and light so I gave her 2 litres of water. Here are some images I took this afternoon. Jack Herer #3 buds The bud is definitely starting to close up now and get fatter. I think that next time the dirt dries out I will feed her for the last time and then flush the dirt and then just giver her water. The 2 Exodus Cheese beans have popped and 1 of the Green House Cheese beans which the bigger of the 2 beans hopefully the second bean will crack its seed case soon and get going. I first soaked the beans for 4 hours then I placed them between damp kitchen roll in a little plastic container under a towel in a drawer and yesterday 1 Exodus Cheese and 1 Green House Cheese had cracked their seed cases and over night the 2nd Exodus Cheese cracked its seed case, and they are all pushing out tap roots. gasmeter Posted March 23, 2020 Author Share Posted March 23, 2020 This morning the dirt in the root pouch of Jack Herer #3 was dry and she felt nice a light so I mixed 0.4g per litre of hybrid powder feed and 0.5g per litre of booster powder feed I mixed 2 litres of the solution and gave it to Jack Herer #3 then put her back into the grow tent under the LED. I need to get a new battery for my scales their accuracy seems to fluctuate, for example when I weigh out the powder feed I place a piece of paper on the scales then zero the scales and then I can weigh out the powder feed. When I started to weigh the hybrid powder feed and shook out the powder from the little scoop onto the paper the scale was not measuring the weight and reacting even when I tapped the scale pan, so I had to put the feed back into the bag remove the piece of paper and then power the scales off and back on again. I then put the piece of paper back on the scales pan and zeroed the scales and put some hybrid powder feed onto the paper on the scales pan and I had to tap the pan before it started to display the weight, I weighed out what the scales reported as 0.8g of hybrid powder feed and put it into the 2 litre lemonade bottle full of water. When I weighed out 1.0g of booster the scales reacted as expected and I then put the booster into the water and then fed the plant, but afterwards It struck me that there looked to be quite a bit of hybrid feed compared to the amount of booster. I have noticed that the booster does seem ighter and quite a fine powder therefore the volume will be slightly greater, the hybrid powder feed looks more granular comparison so it is a bit heavier. It seems to me that maybe the scale was not working properly when I weighed the hybrid powder feed and was under reporting the weight of the powder on the scale pan, so I gave her another 2 litres of water in case I am right to flush out some of the nutrients out of the dirt. Thinking about it afterwards the water in the lemonade bottle definitely looked darker than it should have been so it looks like the damn scales were under reporting the weight, so hopefully the extra 2 litres of water should do the trick and avoid over feeding. All the bud from Jack Herer #1 and #2 was nice and dry from hanging on the stalk for a week, so I cut the bud off the stalk and put it into a Kilner jar, here are some images I took during the process. A spliff of fresh Jack Herer bud ready to smoke Jack Herer #1 produced 20.01g of bud Jack Herer #2 produced 24.4g of bud In total so far the yield from both Jack Herer #1 and #2 is 44.6g of bud. As soon as the dirt in the root pouch of Jack Herer #3 is dry in a few days I will give her 4 litres of water to flush the nutrients out of the dirt as she finishes over the next 2 weeks. Yesterday I put the 2 Exodus Cheese seedlings into RootIt sponge plugs and the Green House Cheese, the 2nd GH Cheese looks like its dead an done so I put anohter GH Cheese bean between the damp kitchen roll, when I checked it earlier it looks like the shell casing is starting to split. The seedlings in RootIt sponges are sat under the flourescent tube in the cupboard at the moment I am leaving the m on a 24 hour photoperiod once the second GH Cheese seedling has joined the others for a couple of days I will reduce the photoperiod to 18/6 and I will do the dark period in the day when I am up and about. I have been taking photos of the new Cheese germination process so once the new GH Cheese is germinated and with the others under the flourescent tube I will start a new grow journal for them. I can see that you have big difference in the flowering time but also in the general structure and in the buds structure. gasmeter Posted March 26, 2020 Author Share Posted March 26, 2020 @OG.Naj good question bro They all seemed to smell the same to me and the smell of the bud and live plant is quite similar. With the Jack Herer autos I have grown in the past the dry bud has a nice perfume aspect to the aroma of the bud and when smoked the taste was similar the the smell. It will be interesting to see if the feminised Jack Herer is going to be different. Yeah I watched the Jack Herer grow video again last week and as you say the bit at the end where they show those three plants with different phenos, it looks like #3 is definitely the more Sativa dominant of the 3 plants. It took me a while to finish that spiff from my post on Monday, I usually sleep with my head on 1 pillow, but on Saturday night I was laid on my bed watching TV and like a bumboclatt I fell asleep, I was well red, when I woke on Sunday morning I had a crick in my neck and my throat was well sore, my neck must have been at a weird angle and I think it was resting on my fist. I realised straight away that it was muscular thing so I knew it wasn't a problem, but it still got me thinking maybe I had pick up the damn virus at the hospital the other week, every time I swallowed it was painful, we forget that we swallow thousands of times per day, I was a bit less painful on Monday and Tuesday, but still giving me a heap of pain. Anyway I went to the chemist round the corner and they sold me some liquid paracetamol which is supposed to be for pickney, but the lady said it is OK for adults, so about 3pm I had 20ml and last night at 9pm another 20ml and at about 2pm I realised the swelling had gone down and when I swallowed there was no pain, so I finished that spiff and managed to get a couple of hours sleep. Since Monday I have eaten hardly anything due to the pain when swallowing, it just drained me, this morning I had a piece of toast and a cup of tea, then I had a shower and put on fresh clothes, next job is to make some cheese on toast for my lunch and some choccy biscuits, but as soon as I touch those biscuits the dog will appear like magic. So I gave her 4 litres of water that has been stood in lemonade bottles for a couple of days, then I placed her back into the grow tent under the LED to soak up the rays. I have also lifted the LED as well there was only a couple of inches between the top pf the plant and the LED. I will take some photos tomorrow when the root pouch is dry and update my journal. So I gave her 4 litres of water and then placed her back inside the grow tent under the LED to soak up the rays. Not sure how far off finished she is there seem to be about 50% brown pistles and the trichomes are definitely milky. The dirt in the rot pouch of Jack Herer #3 continues to dry out and the bud continues to fatten up. It looks like over 50% of the pistles on the bud are now brown, plus I can also see some amber trichomes as well, so soon as the dirt in the root pouch is dry and she feels nice and light I will cut and harvest her.
