gasmeter Posted February 11, 2021 Author Share Posted February 11, 2021 Time for a quick progress update, I emailed the CO2 bag people to ask about the smell of ammonia and the email bounced, so I rang them and they confirmed that yes I was right the stronger ammonia or cat pee like smell means the stuff in the bag is working. On Tuesday the dirt in the root pouches was dry and the plants felt light so I mixed 4ml root stimulant and 3ml of the Plant Magic organic grow feed per litre, and then I gave each plant 2 litre of the feed solution. That was their last feed on the grow feed and the root stimulant, next time the dirt in the root pouches dries out I will give them 2 litres of water each, then the next feed with be with the organic bloom feed early next week. As I was watering the plants I noticed that the dehumidifier seemed to be struggling so in the evening I ordered a new one the same make and model and paid for 3 days shipping rather than next day, about an hour after I got the email to confirm my order I got another to let me know it was with the carrier. Then yesterday morning when I checked my email there was an email from the carrier to let me know it would be delivered in the afternoon, I had to nip out for a couple of hours and when I got back the new dehumidifier had been delivered and it is now in the tent. gasmeter Posted February 13, 2021 Author Share Posted February 13, 2021 Time for a progress update on the 4 Doctor girls at the end of week 2 of flowering. Yesterday the dirt in their root pouches was dry and they felt light so I gave them 2 litres of water each and then I put them back into the grow tent under the LED to continue soaking up the rays. When the dirt dries out again and they are ready for a drink and a feed they will get some of the organic bloom feed. It is very obvious that all of the plants are in flower now there are bud sites at all the nodes and to tops of the stalks and they are a bit taller the tallest two plants are 69cm and 68cm tall and the two shorter plants are 61cm and 53cm tall. So the taller two plants have grown 9cm this week and the short plants have grown 8cm and 4cm taller this week. I had to adjust the height of the LED and the 6 inch fan and the CO2 bag which is hung on a bungi cord so to shorten the bungi and raise up the CO2 bag I used a big clip for stationary to clamp the cord and hold and lock it at the required height. Last Monday the dirt in the root pouches dried out so I mixed 2ml per litre of the Old Timer organic bloom feed and then I gave each of the plants 2 litres of the feed solution and then I put them back into the grow tent under the LED. Three days later on Thursday the dirt in their root pouches was dry and they felt light so I gave them all 2 litres of water and then I put them all back into the grow tent under the LED to continue soaking up the rays. All of the plants are healthy and building bud last Sunday 21st of February 2021 the dirt in the root pouches of the two tallest plants and the smallest plant was dry and they felt light so I mixed 2ml of bloom feed and PK-48 per litre, I mixed 6 litres of the feed solution and then I gave each plant 2 litres. On the Monday morning the dirt in the root pouch of the taller of the two smaller plants was dry and it felt nice and light so I mixed 2ml of bloom feed and PK-48 per litre, I mixed 2 litres of the feed solution which I then gave to the plant. On Wednesday the dirt in the root pouches of the two tallest and the smallest plant was dry and they felt light so I gave them all 2 litres of water and then I put them back into the grow tent. On Friday morning the dirt in the root pouch of the smalest was dry and it felt light so I gave it 2 litres of water and yesterday the dirt in the root pouches of the two tallest plants was dry and they felt light so I gave them 2 litres of water. And this morning the dirt in the root pouch of the taller of the two smaller plants was dry and it felt light so I gave it 2 litres of water, next time they want a drink I will feed them again, I did not realise I had given them water twice I have been so busy this week. Bud stacking on the stalk The Doctor bud porn... 😍 The tallest plant is now 75cm and has grown 2cm since last week and the second tallest plant is now 72cm and has grown 1cm since last week, the taller of the two smaller plants is now 66cm and has not grown taller since last week and the smallest plant is now 58cm tall and has grown 1cm since last week. So it looks like the stretching is now just about done so any increase in height will be as the plant grows buds at the tops of the stalks, not the actual stalks of the plant growing taller. The maximum temperature and humidity in the tent this week were 26.4C and 46% and the minimum temperature and humidity in the tent were 17.9C and 35% I am glad I have just given the plants water twice they definitely do not look any worse for it, but they will get a feed next time the dirt in their root pouches dries out that's for sure. gasmeter Posted March 1, 2021 Author Share Posted March 1, 2021 @Godess_T the PH is probably around 6.5 I used to check the PH of the water and the feed solution and the run off from the pots in the past, but now I do not bother to check the PH only if there is a problem. After watering or watering and feeding I refill the 2 litre plastic lemonade bottles with water and let it stand without the lids on them for about 3 days before I use the water. The Lite Mix or All Mix has a PH of about 6.5 so you don't have to worry about the PH the same way you would with coco coir. 1 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As I was feeding the smallest plant I noticed that the Co2 bag was almost empty there was just a bit of powder inside the bottom of the bag, so on Wednesday I went to a local hydroponics store and got another one, this time I got the £20 bag maybe it will last longer. On Wednesday the dirt in the root pouch of the taller of the 2 smaller plants was dry so I mixed 2ml of bloom feed and PK-48 per litre I mixed 2 litres of the feed solution and gave it to the plant. On Thursday the dirt in the root pouches of the tallest plants was dry so I gave them 2 litres of water each. On Friday the dirt in the root pouch of the smallest plant was dry so I gave her 2 litres of water. Yesterday the dirt in the root pouch of the taller of the smaller plants was dry so I gave her 2 litres of water. This morning the dirt in the root pouches of the two taller plants was dry and they felt light so I mixed 2ml of bloom feed and PK-48 per litre I mixed 4 litres of the feed solution and then I gave each plant 2 litres of the feed solution. This week the tallest plant is now 78cm so it has increased in height by 3cm this week the second tallest plant is now 74cm tall so it has grown 2cm since last week the second smallest plant is now 68cm tall so it has grown 2cm since last week and the smallest plant is now 59cm tall so it has grown 1cm since last week. The maximum temperature was 29.8C and the maximum humidity was 52% the minimum temperature was 19.4C and the minimum humidity was 39%, the temperature is averaging 25C to 27C in the day and the humidity is around 45%. On Tuesday 9th March the dirt in the root pouches of the smallest plant was dry so I mixed 2ml of bloom feed and PK-48 per litre, I mixed up 2 litres of the feed solution which I then I gave to the plant. On Wednesday morning the dirt in the root pouch of the tallest and the taller of the smaller plants was dry so I gave them 2 litres of water each. Then yesterday morning the dirt in the root pouches of all the plants was dry so I gave them all 2 litres of water each. On Monday morning when I was moving the plants around the tent I noticed some signs of spider mites on the smallest plant, so when I got home in the evening I had something to eat then I sprayed them all with Trounce and drenched them. Then I let them dry as much as possible before I put them back in the tent before the LED switched off for the night. This afternoon after I took some photos of the plants I sprayed them again for the second time with Trounce to make sure I kill as many of the little bastards as possible, I will order some predator sachets to cover them over the next few weeks as they finish. On Thursday when I got home in the late afternoon the spider mite predator sachets had been delivered so I put 2 sachets on each plant. Here are some photos of the girls that I took this afternoon. The Doctor bud porn... 😍 It looks like when I sprayed the plants with Trounce and drenched them I wiped out most of the spider mites and now the little spider mite predators from the sachets are finishing the job off and cleaning up any stragglers. The Co2 bag seems to be working this afternoon when I went into the bathroom I noticed a faint smell of cat piss, the plants seem to be liking it and the bud is getting fat and ripe as they get nearer to harvest. When I move the plants I have to do it slowly now because of the weight of the colas laden with dense buds, I am not sure if I am going to harvest at the end of week either or week nine I have not decided yet, but it will probably be some time in week nine. On Monday the dirt in the root pouches was dry so I gave all of the plants 2 litres of water, then on Thursday they were ready for a drink again so I gave them all 2 litres of water. On Saturday they were ready for a drink but I decided to harvest rather than run them another week, because the 4 Kings Juice girls are growing well and need to go into the grow tent, so I gave each plant just 1 litre of water to keep them happy. Then on Sunday I set up the twisted string lines and started to harvest the plants, here are some photos. All of The Doctor girls in the grow tent. As soon as I had harvested 2 of the plants I moved the 4 Kings Juice girls into the grow tent under the LED and reset the clock on the timer to account for the clocks going back 1 hour and then I adjusted the timer to shut down at 00.30am to keep the Kings Juice girls on an 18/6 photoperiod. I have the extractor fan and carbon filter sat on a chair directly below the bud hanging on the stalk drying and the little dehumidifier perched on the back of the chair to help the drying process. gasmeter Posted April 4, 2021 Author Share Posted April 4, 2021 After a week The Doctor bud the bud made a snapping sound and broke cleanly from the stalk so this morning I cut all of the bud off the stalk and put it in Kilner jars. All the bud from the tops of the colas came in at 56.7g and the rest of the bud weighted 85.4g and in total there was 142.1g of bud from all 4 plants and 22g of trim from the sugar leaves. I am shit at describing the smell which is herbal with a fruity aspect, not sure what fruit but it seems fruity, and when smoked it also tastes similar, the fruity aspect for me brings to mind Sweet Mango. Now I can focus on my test grow of Kings Juice and start thinking about what I am going to grow outside this season.
