gasmeter Posted April 18, 2021 Author Share Posted April 18, 2021 Time for a progress update on the 4 Kings Juice girls at the end of week 7 and start of week 8 of the veg period. One Tuesday evening I finally realised that it was heat that was the issue not the LED being too close to tops of the plants. So I left the tent door unzipped half way up to allow more air flow through the tent, at the moment I do not have the extractor fan running I just have two 6 inch fans running in the tent, one is at the height to the LED blowing air down onto the tops of the plants. The second fan is in the center of the tent floor facing downwards to it pulls air from above and blows it onto the floor of the tent so the air is forced upwards to circulate the air around the plants. By Wednesday morning all of the plants look like they had perked up and the dirt in the root pouches was dry so I gave them all 1.5 litres of water and then popped them back into the grow tent under the LED and I left the door partly unzipped to keep the temperature down inside the tent and help air flow. Then on Saturday the dirt in the root pouches was dry again so I mixed 3ml per litre of root stimulant and 3ml per litre of the grow feed, I mixed 6 litres of the feed solution and then I gave each plant 1.5 litres of the feed solution, then I put them back in the grow tent to soak up some rays under the LED. All of the plants were looking well scruffy, so to help them to recover and focus on new growth I removed all of the damaged fan leaves from each plant they look a bit sad but they should soon bounce back over the next week. I am an ejit I should have realised it was the heat build up in the tent that was the problem, at least now I know what it looks like and how the plants react, so I can avoid it in the future, it is just a shame the girls had to suffer because of I&I ignorancy. On Thursday evening I put the extractor fan and the dehumidifier into the grow tent to maintain the humidity and lower the temperature and keep them as consistent as possible. Leaving the tent door open was just not enough to keep the enviroment stable so I set up the extractor fan and dehumidifier in the tent to keep the temperature and humidity under control, and the plants seem to be responding and recovering now after suffering my stupidity. The dirt in the root pouches was dry today so this afternoon I mixed 3ml per litre of root stimulant and 2ml per litre of grow feed, I mixed up 6 litres of the feed solution and then I gave each plant 1.5 litres of the feed solution and then I put them back into the tent. I also switched on the bloom switch on the LED this morning so they are getting full spectrum light, and I reset the timer on the LED to shut down at 18.30pm so they are now on a 12/12 photoperiod. This morning the dirt in the root pouches was dry so I mixed 3ml per litre of root stimulant and 3ml per litre of grow feed, I mixed up 6 litres of the feed solution and then I gave each plant 1.5 litres of the feed solution. All of the plants seem to have recovered and they are looking healthier now this is the last feed of grow nutrient, next time the dirt is dry I will give them 2 litres of water. Two weeks ago I started to germinate some beans to grow outside and I decided to try 4 of some beans from some commercial weed, but two did nothing and two popped open the shell case but then hit the exit. So I decided to try germinating a Super Critical auto and a Super Lemon Haze auto I got free a couple of years back, anyway it took 3 days before the Super Lemon Haze popped the shell case but the Super Critical did nothing at all so I threw it down the toilet and flushed it away. Tonight I put a Sweet Mango auto between damp kitchen roll to germinate to go with the Super Lemon Haze auto, I am also thinking about germinating a couple of photoperiod beans too so they finish a month after the auto girls. On Sunday morning the dirt in the root pouches was dry and they felt nice and light so I mixed up 3ml per litre of root stimulant and 2ml per litre of bloom feed, I mixed 8 litres of the feed solution. Then I gave each plant 2 litres of the feed solution and put them back into the grow tent under the LED. Here are some image of the plant that I took before I watered and fed them. Kings Juice bud 😍 Before I watered the plants I removed the fan leaves that were damaged to help improve light penetration and so that the plants would not waste energy on the leaves now they are in flower. All of the plants have recovered from my stupidity and they are all looking a lot healthier now. The Sweet Mango auto germinated OK and it is now under the fluorescent tube with the Super Lemon Haze auto, I am also thinking about popping a couple of feminised photoperiod beans as well to go with them outside, but I haven't decided what to run yet. All of the plants are doing great and growing well and making bud. Last Monday 17th of May the dirt in the root pouches was nice and dry and all of the plants felt nice and light, so I gave them all 2 litres of water each. On Wednesday the dirt in the root pouches was dry and the plants felt nice and light so I gave them 2 litres water each again, I forgot to check my notes to see where I am up to with feeding and watering or just watering, I am a complete ejit at times. Yesterday the dirt in the root pouches was dry and all of the plants felt light, so I mixed 3ml of bloom feed per litre, 1ml of PK 4-8 per litre and 1g of magnesium per litre, I mixed 8 itres of the feed solution and then I gave each plant 2 litres of the feed solution. Kings Juice bud 😍 I am well pleased with the plants and the way they has rallied round and they are now healthy again, hopefully it has made them stronger and they will make some fat buds. The baby Super Lemon Haze auto has rallied and she is starting to grow now, the Sweet Mango auto is doing well and she looks great, they will make my outdoor grow a bit easier to manage this season with me not around the house all day. I need to have a think about what beans to pop for my next test grow Chemical Bride or Lost Pearl so I can get them in veg while the Kings Juice girls are in their last few weeks of flowering, the flowering time for the Kings Juice is 9 to 10 weeks, so I have a couple of weeks to make my mind up. The plants are all OK and quietly building buds. On Wednesday morning the dirt in the root pouches was dry so I gave all of the plants 2 litres of water each. Yesterday the dirt in the root pouches was dry so I mixed 3ml of bloom feed per litre and 1ml of PK 4-8 per litre, I mixed up 8 litres of the feed solution and then I gave each plant 2 litres of the feed solution. Then I put them back into the tent to soak up the rays from the LED. Here are some images of the plants that I took just before I watered and fed them, as you can see in the images they are well ready for a drink and a feed, normally I water and feed in the morning, but I wanted to take some photos first, so I left it until lunch time. Kings Juice bud 😍 I am well pleased with the Kings Juice girls they seem to be making good progress as we enter week 6 of flowering, the calynx on the buds are nice and fat, so by the time they are 10 weeks into flowering they should have produced some big fat juicy buds. The resin production is good they are well frosty and will hopefully just keep getting frostier. There is now a distinct aroma that seems to me to be fruity with a subtle bubble gum type thing going on. The best always comes last, so they still have time left to fatten up and keep resinating. Although I have to admit, the amount of resin they have right now is very good. gasmeter Posted June 7, 2021 Author Share Posted June 7, 2021 @Jose.gh yes the resin production is good, I don't know whether the LED has some UV diodes, the LED is a Mars II 400 LED which they do not make any more, the LED has two switches one for veg and then one for bloom with both on you get full spectrum, the LED that replaces this model is just full spectrum but it has what looks like a dimmer switch. Last Tuesday the dirt in the root pouches was dry and the plants felt nice and light so I gave them all 4 litres of water to give the dirt a flush, 2 litres was fresh from the tap and the second 2 litres had been stood in a pop bottle for 2 days. Then on Friday morning when I check on the girls before I went to work the dirt in the root pouches was dry and all of the plants felt nice and light, so I mixed 3ml per litre of bloom feed and 1ml per litre of the PK-48 I mixed 8 litres of the feed solution and gave each plant 2 litres. On Sunday (last night) the dirt in the root pouches was dry and they all felt nice and light so I gave each plant 2 litres of water, I also noticed some spider mites on one plant so I mixed 500ml of Trounce and sprayed all of the plants and let them dry before I put them back into the grow tent. Then I ordered some spider mite predators, 4 sachets per plant due to the size of the plants as well as a TNB Co2 refill and a pot of Ona odor nutraliser, the tub I have in my bedroom has turn to liquid, plus it is half the price buying it from Growell compared with local hydro shops, and it made my order over £50 so shipping was free. Kings Juice bud 😍 Last week I also had to remove the ratchet hangers and hang the LED off the tent frame because the tallest plant was less than 6 inches from the LED, now there is around 10 inches between the top of the tallest plant and the LED. Yesterday I put the Sweet Mango and Super Lemon Haze autos into root pouches and then I gave them both 400mls of water and root stimulant and then I put them outside in the back yard. The weather is nice and warm at the moment, although today it was cloudy, but the sun managed to put in an appearance, the forcaste for the next few days is similar to today which should help to ease them into living a door. Now we are in week 7 of flowering I need to pop some beans for my next indoor run and I think I will pop some of the Chemical Bride beans next run and they will be a month old by the time I harvest this run, and then run some Lost Pearl. On Wednesday the dirt in the root pouches was dry and they all felt light so I mixed 3ml per litre of the bloom feed and 2ml per litre PK 4-8, I mixed 8 litres of the feed solution in total, and then I gave 2 litres of the feed solution to each plant. Also on Wednesday the spider mite predators, Ona odour nutraliser and TNB Naturals Co2 refill was delivered, so when I got home from work I put 4 sachets on each of the plants and then I emptied the TNB Naturals Co2 refill into the bottle and added 1 litre of warm tap water, then I gave it a good shake an dplace it on the floor of the grwo tent. I have a 6 inch fan also sat on the floor of the grow tent facing downwards pulling are down and circulating it around the bottom of the grow tent, this is what TNB Naturals advise if there is not room at the top of the tent above the canopy and the extractor is close by then put the bottle lower in the tent and use a fan to push the Co2 upwards. Anyhoo this afternoon after I took some photos of the plants I moved the TNB Naturals Co2 dispense bottle above the canopy next the the 6 inch fan blowing down onto the canopy to make sure the air and Co2 moves down into the canopy. Kings Juice bud 😍 This evening I put 4 Chemical Bride beans between some damp kitchen roll to start germinating them and to get the ball rolling on my next test grow, I will run these Kings Juice girls the full 10 weeks or maybe 11 weeks depending on how they finish in my conditions. The Super Lemon Haze and Sweet Mango auto girls outside are doing OK, both plants are now flowering and they are quite small the Super Lemon Haze is 26cm or 10" tall and the Sweet Mango is 36cm or 14" tall. The plants are in their second week of flowering so late this afternoon they were ready to water and feed so I gave them their last feed of organic grow feed and root stimulant, next time they get water then their next feed will be bloom feed. I will start a new journal for the Chemical Bride as soon as the beans have successfully germinated in a few days time. Last Monday 14th of June 2021 the dirt in the root pouches was dry and all of the plants felt light, so I mixed up 3ml per litre bloom feed and 2ml per litre of PK 4-8, I mixed 8 litres of the feed solution, and then I gave each plant 2 litres of the solution. Some stalks at the bottom of the smallest plant got bend and damaged so I decided to cut them off so she would not waste energy repairing them and focus on growing bud, I left the bud on the little stalks and left them on the window sill. Last night the stalks cracked when I snapped them so I took the bud off the stalks and used some in a spliff and had a smoke the bud smells like Kings Kush with that earthy herbal kush thing, but to me there is also this fruity aspect to the smell and taste. On Thursday the 17th of June 2021 the dirt in the root pouches had dried out again and they all felt light so I gave each plant 2 litres of water each then put them back into the grow tent under the LED. Here are some photos of the plants that I took this afternoon just before I watered and fed them a solution of 3ml per litre bloom feed and PK 4-8 at 2ml per litre, I gave each plant 2 litres of the feed solution. Kings Juice bud 😍 On the GHS web store it states that the flowering period for Kings Juice is 9 to 10 weeks, bearing in mind that in all the GHS test grows they use a 600 watt HPS lamp I will probably go 2 weeks longer, because I am using an LED that is equivalent to a 250 watt HPS. Out of the five Chemical Bride beans only 3 of them germinated one looked a bit weird and it was really small and I did not think it would even crack its seed case, but it did and then promptly stalled and died and another that looked OK did absolutely nothing. So I now have 3 Chemical Bride seedlings under the fluorescent tube in the little cupboard in my bathroom and I have put a Green House Cheese bean between fresh kitchen roll so I have 4 plants in the tent hopefully it will germinate OK. The Super Lemon Haze and Sweet Mango autos outdoors are doing OK, next door had the fence fixed to their side of the back yard wall replaced during the week so I secreted them amongst the other bigger plants so they could stay outside, rather than keep them in the shed out of sight under the fluorescent tubes. On Thursday morning I noticed a few leaves had some marks on them and I was wondering what was causing it, then this morning I realised it was light burn I had not raised the LED to keep around 18 inches from the tops of the plants, so I quickly raised the lamp. I should have noticed that straight away but its been a really busy week and I have been getting shit loads of cramp in my mashed up leg and one night I fell over and hit my head and ended up with a gaping gash in my forehead, I went to the hospital first thing the next morning and they were able to glue the wound shut. I have also squeezed the bottom stalks between my fingers on Monday until I felt them pop and go floppy and by Wednesday they were responding well so I did it again, and also on Saturday morning after I watered them and the stalks are getting I will let them veg for another week to help them recover before I start to flower them.
