Kings Juice Strain Test Grow - 2021

Recommended Posts

Time for a progress update on the 4 Kings Juice girls at the start of week 10 of the flowering period.

On Wednesday 23rd June the dirt in the root pouches was dry and all the plants felt light so I gave them all 4 litres of water to give the dirt a bit of a flush and then I put them back into the grow tent under the LED.

This morning the dirt in the root pouches was dry and the plants all felt light so I gave them 2 litres of water each.

Here are some photos of the plants that I took just before I watered them.

The plants are now in their tenth week of flowering and I have given them a bit of a flush and started to give them water only, so I will cut them at the end of week eleven, I ordered a couple of TNB Naturals enhancer refills which should be delivered tomorrow, so one will cover the last 2 weeks of their lives.

The Green House Cheese bean germinated OK so I now have 3 Chemical Bride seedlings and one Green House Cheese seedling to fill the tent for the next test run, they are all on an 18/6 photoperiod under the fluorescent tube in the little cupboard in my bathroom.

Tomorrow I will put them into some dirt and plastic pots and I need to get my shit together and start a journal for them as well.

The Super Lemon Haze and Sweet Mango autos outside are small but they are doing OK, the Sweet Mango is building buds and so is the Super Lemon Haze but it is not as vigorous in growth compared with the Sweet Mango plant.

They both smell great the Super Lemon Haze has definitely got a distinct lemon aspect to the smell and the Sweet Mango is fruity just as I remember it from a previous indoor grow, and it is a nice smoke too, with a great vibe.

More updates to follow, happy growing... 👍

These look so good, I like how much new growth there seems to be on the lower branches!
it's so interesting how these grow so differently with each grower.
we all have our own ways and we all get decent results.
There's always something new we can learn.
love it! Well done

Time for a progress update on the 4 Kings Juice girls at the start of week 11 of the flowering period.

On Wednesday 30th June the dirt in the root pouches of all the plants was dry and they all felt nice and light so I gave each plant 2 litres of water each and then I put them back into the tent to soak up the rays.

On Sunday 04th July the dirt in the root pouches was dry and they all felt light, so I decided that rather than water them it was time to cut and harvest rather than keep them running for another week, moving them in and out of the tent was becoming hard work.

Plus the bud was not going to increase much if I left them for another week the plants were as big as they were going to be, and they were looking a bit battered and tired, so I decided that it was time to cut, and forward with the next run of 3 Chemical Bride and a Green House Cheese plant.

Here are some images of the plants that I took as I harvested them.

All of the Kings Juice trim and two trays of buds cut from the stalks.

05july-2021-kj-bud-trim.thumb.jpg.0b85bbaffa392114a286c551eb80643e.jpg

I trimmed the bud on the two main stalks on the stalk and then hung the stalks to dry the bud, but with the bud on the stalks lower down on the main stalks and the lower stalks I cut the bud from the stalks and put it into two trays to dry.

There is a lot of small and pop corn bud, but there are also plenty of what should be 1/2 gram and 1 gram buds as well, over all I am quite pleased with the yield from the plants, considering how they had a bit of a rough start.

I will update again next when the bud is dry with a info about the yield and a smoke report.

Happy harvesting... 👍

  • 2 weeks later...

I left the bud on the stalk for 2 weeks, during the first 7 days I continued to run the dehumidifier in the bathroom along with the extractor and filter to minimise the smell of the herb drying.

During the second week I left the extractor running for about 3 days and the smell was not an issue so I switched it off, plus the weather has been really nice here in the UK for the past few weeks and at the moment its almost tropical its well hot.

So on Saturday I checked the bud on the stalks and in the plastic trays and it was time to trim the bud off the stalk and get the bud in jars and see what the yield for this run was.

Here are some images I took.

Kings Juice bud in trays from lower parts of plants and the bud on the right is off the main stalks and the trim from the bud is in the blue plastic ice cream tub in the top right corner of the image.

A spliff of ripe sticky Kings Juice bud.

19july-2021-kj-spliff.thumb.jpg.0e464ae9d5bb4dce47f75fcdd56323cb.jpg

So there was 25.9g of trim from the sugar leaves on the bud and 47.8g of bud from the stalks and 77.4g of bud from the lower parts of the plants, in total there was 125.3g of bud from all 4 plants.

The smell of the bud as the plants grow is very similar to the KIngs Kush with that earthy, citrus and a floral thing going on, when smoked it has a nice vibe that lasts for hours, it is a nice head buzz and light on the body as it states in the information on the Green House store, a nice smoke for during the day.

I put all of the bud off the stalks into the bottom of one of the jars which I will smoke last to let it cure longer, it will be interesting to see how the taste and smell changes over time, the bud from the tops of all of the Doctor plants are in one jar and now I am smoking it the smell and taste of the bud when smoked is much more fruity and complex now.

The same applies to the last jar of Silver Back bud, the best from all 4 plants and the smell has become much more complex, so it will be interesting to see what the bud at the bottom of the second jar is like in a month or two.

I can now focus on my next run of Chemical Bride and the Sweet Mango and Super Lemon Haze autos are now in week 7 of flowering I am looking forwards to having a smoke of the Sweet Mango it is a nice strain and I am also looking forward to checking out the Super Lemon Haze as well.

Happy smoking... 👍

Nice grow gas, I have never seen such a good recovery like that good job 👏.in my experience the more you stress your plant the more fire it will be ,the best slh I ever try was one I stress to the Max in week 4 I i accidentally split stem in half it didn't really recover it was like just hairs very little bud I was just going to throw it away ,I saved it then try it and wow lemon candy better then any slh I grew or tried, hope you get a similar experience

I hope your right on that one, My current grow has been challenging just a bit, split the main stem of my Zkittlez in half 3 weeks before she switched to flower.... and she recovered just fine and is likely to yield a good 14 OZ so if what you say is true im lucky. Might have to do it on purpose next time if you are right thou. lols.

And yeah they did recover quite well didnt they?

Nice grow mate, was not expecting to see such a nice jar full of buds after what the plants looked like after over heating but you did great to get them back. Good luck on the next grow too.
