Hey Friends,

I hope, no one posted this one before ;)

one day my father gave this one to me, neither he nor I uploaded this file. have fun with it! but remember, its 40 years old ;) so dont take the same portions seriously ;)

nowadays books are printed, so it looks funny to read a book thats written with a typewriter and illustrated with funny psychedelic pics ;)

the illustrations are amazing, so if you dont understand german it's still worth to read it ;)

PS:

there are lots of recipes that instruct you to toast/roast your ganja. I wouldn't do that. if there are any germans who would like to help me with the translation, you are invited to help me :)

please critisize me in relation to my grammar/vocabulary, my english is not the finest ;) please help me to improve it :)

I didn't add things like "eat it with a friend" or "in the countryside" it is truly written in the book! :D

1. Zuckerwerk (Oldschool word for "Candy")

Roast a half Cup of Grass in a heavy iron pot. watch out, dont let it burn. make it to a powder and add it to any nut- or chocolate candy-recipe of your choice. you can replace the nuts by orange peel (same quantity).

2. Sesame Balls

Roast 7g of Grass in a iron Pot until its evenly golden brown and dry. watch out, dont let it burn. use a mortar or your fingers to make it to powder.

Mix it with:

80g Sesame seeds (how would it taste if you use cannabis seeds? ;) )

3 tablepoons of grinded almonds

1/4 Cup of "best" honey

1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon

1/4 Teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 Teaspoon "paradise apple"-pits => i am not sure what paradiesäpfel are... wikipedia says: tomatoes, a special sort of apple, grapefruit...

1/2 Teaspoon strong ginger, grinded

a dash of rose blossom water or orange blossom water (i didn't find any translation for that, you can buy that stuff in an asia market)

stirr it in a iron pot with a tablespoon of salted butter, while cooking it over a low heat (simmer gently), until its hot. cool it down. roll balls in the size of a walnut, roll them in the roasted sesame seeds. eat them with a friend.

3. Nebukadnezar's Dream

roast whole stipes over a naked flame in the countryside. Salt it, dump it into honey and suck it directly from the stipe. they do it this way in the rif mountains.

4. Black Sabbath Salve

100g Grease of a Human (take grease of a chicken)

40g Hashish

50g Hyoscyamus (Henbane)

20g Belladonna (deadly nightshade/banewort)

260g indian hemp

50g Garlic

30g Sunflower seeds

250g opium-poppy

60g Callamus

100g wheat

Mix all ingedients, let it dry in the sun, then grind it to a fine powder. preserve it in a air-tight box. in usage: put it on solar plexus, base of the neck, hollow of the knee and arms, palms and soles of foots.

this is enough for a huge coven/congregation.

DO NOT EAT!

After the ceremony wash the salve off and put vaseline on your body.

5. The Antidoxin

At all unpleasant side effects, that come from hypersensitivity, like serious paranoia, cold lemon juice is recommended. Vitamin C in every form, too and bed rest with warm blankets, until the feeling is gone away. Hot drinks intensify the effects of the hashish and let the high beginn earlier. heavy food presses it down (dampens it). The drinks (bhang and kif tea) take effect faster, while the "solid" products sometimes take time about one hour. The Effects last from a several hours up to two days.

6. The Holy Ghee or Bhang Butter

"Cook"² Grass in "cow-warm" (not homogenized!) milk, skim the cream and make it to butter. This butter was used in india as a anesthetic. You also can boil grass in a mixture of butter and milk for a several hours, screen it, and, after it cooled down, skim the butter off the surface. More detailed instructions of the procedure in the recipe for white cookies.

²I think they dont mean "cook" like "boil it up".

7. Hard Candis (rock sugar)

Grind a 1/4 Cup ow Grass to powder. add gradually water to it until the the cup is filled with a smooth liquid. Screen it through a cloth and mix it with:

4 Cups of sugar and 2 Cups of light Corn syrup.

Heat it up to 150°C in a big heavy pot. (use a sugar thermometer). Take it down from the stove and let it cool down for a few minutes. If it is desired, add peppermint extract. pour it on a cold, greased marble plate. when it's cooled down, cut it into pieces (quads) with a knife. use a knife to scrape the rest out of the pot. when it's cold and hard, brake it into quads. This rock sugar is green and not very tasty. they can be colorated with herbal colors, as they do it in andalusia.

8. Faruk's Dick

Fry six baby bananas size 5cm (from a puertorican greengrocer - no chiquita) with some butter and six slices of streaky bacon. Mix one teaspoon of grinded hashish powder with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. wrap each banana with a slice of bacon and serve it with the hashish-sugar-mixture. It is enough for two.

9. Bhang

Grind some Grass with a mortar and pestle to a very fine powder. Add gradually water to it, until its a green, smooth fluent paste. Screen it through a cloth. Mix the liquid with milk and sugar and drink it. This is a old traditional recipe from india.

other variations:

Mix the grass with peppercorns, grind it, add water, screen it, and mix it with water and sugar.

or:

use some hemp leaves with the same amount of black pepper, cloves, nutmeg and nutmeg blossoms, grind it all together. Admix it with water, screen it. Put it in 1/4 L water, milk, melon- and cucumber juice. Bhang is often drunk without any spices that are supposed to make the drink more exhilarating/intoxicating

10. Bhang Sherbet

Prepare half of a cup Bhang-liquid, as described above, use 7g of grass in it; but use the half of orange blossom water and rose blossom water and the half of clear water to make the paste. Dissolve 1 1/4 Cups of sugar in 2 Cups of milk. Add the half cup of bhang and a half grated lemon zest. Whip a half cup of cream until its thick and add it. Pour it into bowls and freeze it to a mush/slush. Go on with whipping until it gets light and uncongested. Freeze it until it's solid and decorate it with rose petals or other blossoms.

11. Tea

Wrap about 1 Tablespoon of uncleaned grass into a peace of muslin (kind of a cloth made of cotton). Boil some tea water. Add the cloth with the grass. When the water boils, put both, grass and water into a teapot that preferentially contains mint tea or "other"² green tea. steep it for 5 minutes minimum, add much sugar, serve it. The tea can also be made of fresh picked grass.

²"other green tea is not correct. mint tea is no green tea.

12. Christmas Blancmange

Mix the following ingredients:

1 Cup pure fine grinded Kif²

1 Cup uncooked grated/grinded carrots

1 Cup uncooked grated/grinded carrots

1 Cup uncooked grated/grinded potatoes

1 Cup of raisins

1 whipped egg

1 Teaspoon baking soda

1/2 Teaspoon salt

1 Cup brown sugar

1 Cup flour

1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 Teaspoon cloves

1 heaped Tablespoon Butter

Steam/stew it for 3 hours in a baking dish, garnish it with candied cherries.

²For those who dont know: Kif is the maroccan word for cannabis.

13. Malted betel nut

Fill a blender with:

3 or 4 Betel nuts

1/2 Tablespoons grass

1/2 Banana

1 heaped Tablespoon "malt milk powder" (dont know how to translate)

some teaspoons sugar

1/4 l Milk

Blend it for some minutes on a high velocity (speed), screen it. serve it in small glasses. It's a stimulating drink, you also can make it without grass.

14. Chocolate Flippers

Hashish and Chocolate are a delicate combination. Pulverize 10g first-class hashish. Melt in a water quench/bath:

50g unsweetened Chocolate

1/3 Cup Butter

Add Hashish. Whip it with:

1 Cup Sugar

2 Eggs

Mix the following ingredients with a screen and mix it together with the ingredients above:

3/4 Cup Flour

1/2 Teaspoon baking powder

1/2 Teaspoon salt

Add:

1/2 Cup chopped Nuts

Bake it for 30 minutes in a foursquared and greased pan. when it cools down, ice it (pour over) with chocolate-sugar icing. Garnish with walnut halves. Cut it into tiny quads. Nibble it with wariness.

15. Seed pancakes

For a weird breakfast: Slightly roast a 1/4 cup of grass seeds in a big heavy iron bowl, then mix it with this dough:

1 Cup Buckwheat-Pancake-Instant-Mixture

1 Egg

1 1/4 Cups Milk

1 Tablespoon melted butter

Stir it until it's smooth. Heat the pan, add some butter, then pour some dough in it. when the edges look done, turn the pancake over. Repeat that until the whole dough is used up. Serve it with maple syrup or honey. This is enough for 3 persons and it is a really good beginning of the day. Those whose dont like creaky/crunchy food, use grinded seeds.

16. Hashish Harrera

Harrera is a morrocan soup, that is traditionally served at the end of the ramadan celebration.

Chop very fine:

1 Onion

1 small bunch of coriander (take parsley, if coriander is not available)

1 parsnip

some celery

Fill the bottom of a big pot with good olive oil (about 1/2 centimeter).

At your own chioce: Add some diced meat, parts of a chicken (stomach, heart, liver)

Boil meat and vegetables for 15 minutes, dont let it scorch, Add 3/4 L of water, boil it until the meat is done. Add 3 Teaspoons tomato purée and 1/2 Cup canned peas. Add 50g fine vermicelli. Make 50g Flour or cornflour with 1 Cup of water to a smooth paste, add 1 Tablespoon paprika (sweet pepper powder), salt, pepper and 1 Teaspoon pulverised Hashish to the soup. Cook it for 10 more minutes, casually stir it. Take it off the cooker and directly add 2 whipped eggs. Dish it up immediately, put a pinch of cinnamon and 1/2 smin (rancid butter) in each bowl. serve it with lemon slices.

17. Aphrodisiac

1 Tablespoon aromatic ungrinded nutmeg blossoms

2 cantharides beetles / Spanish Flies²

1 heaped teaspoon fresh red saffron

Grate those ingredients with a brazen mortar, then mix it with 1/2 Liter Water. Boil it and let it simmer for 30 minutes. Boil it up again, boil it unitl the liquid is reduced to a 1/4 Cup. Screen it and add it to the majoon. Be attentive, that the liquid is evenly admixed. Never take more than 2 Spanish Flies (cantharides beetles), it could be dangerous. This aphrodisiac is enough for two, if the liquid is admixed to food, for example a bigger amount of curry rice.

Smaller amounts of datura stramonium extract (thorn apple, jimson weed), that is made by cooking the leaves, blossoms or pods, can be added to the majoon or white cookies recipe. The effect should be that the victim is approachable to everything what is desired. The grated skin of a desert lizard (caution! possibly incorrect translation!) can be used instead of the spanish flies. Opium and Mandragora extracts also open the mind and relax the body.

18. Moroccan Majoon

Put a 1/2 Cup of pure Kif into a dry heavy iron pot. roast it until its golden brown. Stir it contiuously with a knife that it doesnt scorch. Grate the Kif with a Mortar and pestle to a fine powder.

Add:

1 Cup fine chopped dates

1/2 Cup raisins

1/2 Cup grated almonds

1/2 Cup grated walnuts

1 Cup fine chopped figs²

1 Teaspoon fresh grinded ginger

1 Teaspoon cinnamon

1 whole grated nutmeg

1 Tablespoon grated aniseeds

1/2 Cup honey

Mix all ingredients and boil it, together with 1 cup water until the fruits get soft and deliquesce, then let the water evaporate. melt 2 teaspoons butter in a pot with low heat, add the mixture and stir it for 5 more minutes. season to taste. If the majoon is not sweet enough, add some more honey and heat it up again. Cool it down. Stir 1/4 Cup of orange bossom water in it. 1 heaped Teaspoon for each person should be enough. Serve it with hot peppermint tea.

²I prefer fresh figs from the market.

CAUTION! THIS RECIPE IS VERY DELICIOUS AND WILL MAKE YOU ADDICTED TO MAJOON!

Variations:

The Majoon can also be used with the following recipe:

4 Cups of screened flour

1/2 Teaspoon salt

1 Teaspoon Baking powder

1/2 Cup stirred Butter

4 Eggs

1 Cup Honey

Screen flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl. Press a dimple into the middle and put in butter, eggs and honey. Knead with hands and make it to a dough. Roll it out and cut it into 10 centimeter quads. Put 1 heaped Teaspoon of Majoon on each quad and fold them to triangles. Bake them at moderate heat until they are golden brown. Make about 3 dozen.

This Dough can, if you have the intention to make a kind of Hashish Haman-Bags (dont know if bag is the right translation, didnt find anything, that fits more), fill them with the following filling:

2 Cups browned butter

4 grams grated Hashish

1/2 Cup of almonds

1 Tablespoon grated lemon zest

1 Tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 Teaspoon cinnamon

mix it very carefully.

19. The White Cookies

This is the Recipe for the famous White Cookies of Marrakesh. The arcane Method to extract the Kif essence with butter is known in india, too, there they call it the "Holy Ghee". If you go ahead accurately, the cookies are odorless, savorless and innocent to look at.

Boil a pot of water with one pound² (butter?). Add 1/4 up to 1/2 pound Kif with stipes (not too dry). Simmer it for at least 6 hours. Stir it casually and take care, that the water doesnt evaporate completely. Add water if necessary. Screen the mixture into a bigger pot. Pour boiling water several times over the stems, to run off the remaining butter out of it. Screen it again. Remove the Kif and and put the Liquid into the refrigerator to cool it down. Skim the butter from the surface. Heat the butter again and screen it through a fine screen. Cool it down.

² 1 pound = 0,45 kg

Now the extract is finish to use it in the following Recipe:

Mix:

1 Cup of soft butter extract, 3/4 Cup sugar

then add: 1 egg

mix it with: 3 Teaspoons Vanilla or Almond extract

screen together:

3 Cups screened flour

3/4 Teaspoons baking powder

Knead the dough and let it cool down until it is "solid". Then roll it out on a floured board (thin). Cut out small circles with a jar. Put the half of an almond on each cookie and bake it in the oven for about 7 minutes until they are golden brown (/bronzy). A half up to one cookie should be enough.

If nothing else comes around, the recipe works with seeds and stipes aswell, but much milder.

20. Some indian recipes

Take 2 1/2 liters milk. Add 2 Pounds of Ganja leaves and cook it until the liquid is reduced to 3 pounds. Take the leaves out and let the milk clot by adding some sour milk. Churn it the next day and isolate the butter.

Add:

3 Dram² cloves

3 Dram² nutmeg

3 Dram² nutmeg blossoms

3 Dram² saffron

Add 15 Dram rock sugar and cook it until it forms a mush or purrée.

² 16 Dram = 28g

Fry Hemp leaves with butter, screen them and drink the liquid mixed with some sugar. Or cook the butter until it is thickened so that it hardens when it cools down.

Mix 6 pounds of Grass with 4 pounds pure butter and 70 pounds sugar. Before, soak the Grass in water for one night. Next day, drain off the water. Then melt the Butter in a pan and add the Grass. Add water and cook the mixture until the weed is softened. Screen it and make it to a paste. Cook it in sugar and let it become hard, cut it into small pieces. Two 2 1/2 cm pieces are enough for a normal sized human being.
