Whats with the pine trees Arjan? What would happened if you found a stow away in your next trip? You would just let him tag along right? LOL.

Dont know why but Africa seems like home, and I´ve never been there. Mother Land I guess.

Amazing country. astonishing ganja ! What we really wanna know - how does it smoke ? We see all these fine plants but read very little about getting high or stoned. And of course the 1 million dollar question. What is better Swazi or Jamaican ( Orange Hill ) ?

For me anything better than that weed would be a shock. I guess they're just different and as good as the growers in Swazi are, the culture around the plant is missing - seems they mainly grow it to survive and only smoke a bit or at least only few people smoke it everyday ?

Right or wrong ?

Anyway the people look wonderful - one of the most picturesque and most pure african people there is.

The country is beyond beautiful of course. Looks llke a nice place to live for a while..

Happy Easter Hunters !

STRAIN HUNTERS SWAZILAND - DAY 4

We wake up around 8, and enjoy a good Easter breakfast with fruits, eggs, bacon and even a great cappuccino; I would have never expected it in this part of the world, but there it is: foamy, hot, perfectly made cappuccino.

I feel great, my throat-troubles are history, and I am truly relieved. While the crew finishes their backups and get ready, Arjan and I take a swim in the pool. It's early but the sun is already burning hot. Around 10:00 we are ready to drive; we go back to the small village where we had meat around the fire on our first night in Swaziland. The drive is on dirt roads but we maintain a good average speed, the conditions of the roads are pretty good overall. When we arrive we meet our local guide, who takes us to see more fields in the area. We walk to an isolated house made of mud, then in the thick forest for a little over half an hour, until we reach a shack made of poles and a large tarp, where three boys are busy manicuring a crop. Some plants are hanging to dry, but most of the crop has been stripped from the branches and it's lying on tarps on the ground. It's almost dry, and it all has to be manicured. We stop to shoot some footage, and speak with the manicuring crew about the way they work, and about the plants they are trimming. They use scissors, and move fast. The buds they are manicuring contain quite a lot of seeds, so while they trim the leaves they also try to push the seeds out as much as they can, using the point of the scissors. This way they can collect seeds for their next crop, and the buds they trim have less seeds inside and fetch a higher price on the market. We get a taste of the local bud, and it's very tasty sativa crossed with some skunk-like high grade. It burns a little harsh but the taste is nutty, woody and spicy. It's strong and very body-like.

We keep walking until we reach a field nearby. Again, we find a big mix of Swazi genetics with high-grade genetics, and again it feels like being in a candy-shop. Every plant has a different smell than the next one, and they are also at different stages of development. We still did not find the real pure Swazi landrace, but Simon tells me not to worry, there is going to be plenty in the next days.

After collecting seeds from some interesting plants and filming for the documentary we walk back to the village. There we meet some growers and sit for an interview on a rock overlooking the whole valley. It's an amazing spot. And an amazing country, with amazing people. The grower explains how cannabis is the only cash crop that can provide food to his family, and he tells us how he plants, how he uses gravity to bring water to his plants, and how he dries and stashes his crops. It seems most people in the rural areas of Swaziland are very knowledgeable about cannabis, they are proud of being growers and they explain that cannabis has been part of the Swazi heritage ever since humans populated the area.

The sun is hot, and after filming the interview we need a break with some joints and some drinks.

At around 15:00 we thank our guides and we drive on, direction Phophonyane falls. The drive is awesome, with amazing scenery and great weather. When we arrive at the lodge we selected for tonight we still have enough time to go explore some amazing waterfalls nearby, before showering and going for a great dinner in the lodge's restaurant. It is the best food we had up to now during this trip: chicken curry, beef curry, lamb chops, salads. It's exquisite and we truly enjoy it. After dinner we smoke loads of Cheese and Bubba Kush from Simon's stash, and we plan the following days while the crew backs up the material filmed today. I am also getting a peak at the MotoGP race from Qatar right now, it's the first one of the 2012 season. Jah bless Wifi.....LOL

We have been only 3 days in Swaziland, but we already saw amazing fields and plants. Now I truly look forward to find the real landrace.

Happy Easter to all hunters!!!

Saludos y felices fumadas. Mr.X

pd more photos coming...
