You know everyone has a little something they swear by that most other people dont do for whatever reason. Others may think is weird or just bullshit or old wives tales but maybe its working for you. Whats yours? I guess mine would be the lighting schedule I use in more and more of my grow tents. Its called "gas lantern schedule" aka 12-1.

oh fuck off.

Good genetics does all the work, working with poor strains gives alot of headaches..

About my secrets, if any, I have them written in various posts in the forum... thinking about it makes me wonder if its some sort of secret or just my way of growing..

Anyway hope you take it lightly..

Take care

lol a secret...hmm don't think we could call it that way lol, my "habit" is to pierce the soil with a woodpecker skewers before every watering, it helps the water to penetrate more uniformly ^^

But i guess i don't have secret and don't have anything to make people jealous of lol. ;)

veg nutes in flower is mine

Get the fuck out. And you have good results with all that nitrogen?!

@Mr.Organic I watched a show called myth busters and they did a test. One greenhouse with music, the other without. Plants had better growth in the music tent. I never understood it. What do you notice when you rock your girls out? Do they grow faster?

@tokage I could have sworn I seen bat shit at the hydro store in liquid form. Dont they make bat shit for hydro?

@dust, just fim a bastard already. You will be so happy you did it.

i've read that could use it by doing a "tea" with it and filtering the particules.

I guess there must be some other brand that use it for hydro too ^^

About music do a little search on google, i've done so too some months years ago, and in the end it's all about molecule resonance and vibrations, very interesting subject, but lots of technic reading hard to undertand passed acertain point, too hard for me unfortunatly ^^

Not so secret secret;

If growing in soil, feed and water from the tray not from watering the soil directly; watering from the top of the pot washes out nutrients. Let the plant take in the water it needs and she will be happy.

Thats my not so secret secret for soil growing, works a treat on my lettuces and chili plants! :pogranichnik:

i didnt mean i use just veg nutes in flower. i use a combo of flower and veg nutes in flower. as well as a few suppliments. wat it does is lets the put on more weight without prematurly yellowing.

I've done that once and felt like the blooming was a little delayed. I was mixing 50/50 before the hairs showed up, i just felt like it took an extra few days for them to come up as opposed to the previous batch... (Let me know how you dose it though as i'm always eager to learn!)

About the early yellowing i'd say i've got the other problem with the advance nutes line. I had to cut the nutes 2/3 weeks befor eharvest to get my leaves yellow. I felt like i'd lost some leaves for hash making though and better stick with thoo green (is it a bad thing?)

My secret is the grow guru section of the forum, it aint the secret of one man but the minds of all those grower coming together. I dont mind to sound corny but no one has secret over here, we all share and learn from each other that's what makes that forum so bad ass!

Peace!

Guano added to the stem once a week and boiled as tea the next time (twice a week). Watering mostly applied via leaves. i know it leaves some stains, but otherwise they seem to like it and the soil is not as muddy as with regular watering. In early stages take them out for the night in a dark space with enough air around and sometimes give them some fresh air..Think positive when around and at night I play them music...well i listen..lol

First thing in the morning shower the leaves with a few sprinkles of water, then apply light/heat..Leave them untouched for at least 6/8 to 12 hours next...

Tonight I leave them inside the tent, but keep tit open as long as possible..and blow the little fan...

Little things, that come automatic

Hehe another Dirt Monkey here too :D

My most favoured techniques are FiM and SCROG. with plant rotation (turning plant 90 degrees 4 times a day or twice at 180 depending on time) and like Bozoph some veg nutes with flower nutes but thats pretty much standard but for anyone who hasn't tried FiM you need too!! especially all the topping fans

With music :music: I interpret it as us Humans do.... music can change our moods as quick as u can think! so why not a plant? are they not just as alive? just my thoughts i can always see a change just more happier also when i'm with them I also think my girls are happier when they know i'm near and talking to them they do love a lil talking too hehe

so in short.... Fim, Scrog, Plant rotation, Music, Chatting too oh and tapping gently against the stalk now n again to encourage stalk strength

but as i'm relatively new to growing i haven't got much to compare too i just do what i do and have fairly good results some say :)

Peace

  • 5 months later...

I guess most of you buy your nutes, soil or what ever it is you use.. well i do not spend a cent on shit.. i use natural organic nutrients i make... i grow indoors using only fluorescent lights i get from a friend.. i also grow outdoors in perfect african climates.. i always improvise on containers for planting.. my secret is cannabis is a weed and you can get great results however you grow it, just study this plant well because after 12 years im still learning something almost everyday. Grow different strains and keep trying new techniques and strains.. do not always listen to people get out and do your own work, this is how you learn.

I agree with Romeu9. The secret is the genes. You can have the perfect setup with the optimal environment regarding all aspects from nutrient solution and .ph stability to co2 control and you can have plants witch performance seems rapid and vigorous and are yielding heavenly. But if the genetics of the plant are not right the product may not be what you where looking for to begin with. Just my personal e experience. Also seen a lot of plants go herms because of unstable genetics.

Genetics are the most important part. In my experience the most tricky part is geting the seedlings to grow a decent root system. Still not 100% satisfied - avoid Jiffys. Atm I try Coco for the first time and the seedlings stretch awfully long and after nearly 2 weeks there still is no decent root system.

But once they are in Veg and grow properly all you gott do is feed 'em and give them proper light ! The secret to success is getting always the right distance to a plant. As close as possible without burning the top cola. Don't reap too soon nor too late. With Autos or plants with an extra long massive top cola reaping the top first and let the side ranches grow a little longer may be better than harvesting the whole plant. Don't rush the drying with too much fans or heat ! Proper curing is crucial.

FIM#ing beats topping imo.
