Potent Posted July 4, 2012 Author Share Posted July 4, 2012 Thanks dude, I did a breakdown of the equipment i used on page 1, but as it's you in the large tent i am using 2x400w HPS, 1 in a Diamond shade the other in a Parabolic. with 125w CFL blue and a 125w CFL red. I have 4 fans & extractor and dehumidifier in there too.In the medium tent i am using 1x400w HPS in a Diamond shade with 2 fans and extraction.All auto's have bin harvested so i moved the 125w CFL red into the larger tent to help cover the areas where the HPS was not reaching as much.Yes the smell is Incredible now, The Doctor and Ex Cheese are my favorite smelling strains now WOW! the Exodus really has started to stink now and i have become a massive fan of the Doctor now i just hope the smoke is as nice as she looks Peace Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

One doctor is mega frosty as in the GHS catalogue showing the white widow, the other not. Same over at my place. Sticky, smelling pungent and potent but no frost on the leaves - maybe the real sugar only comes with molasses and/or 600 watt HPS or more ?I don't understand that. The auto bomb was so nice but nearly no resin on the buds. Maybe I made some mistakes on this first indoor grow - overfeeding/overwatering or disturbing the dark periods too often.. .whatever the reasons are..Maybe next time I get some nice frosted leaves for finger hash...The shake'n Joy stays empty mostly, too. At least with leaves..What is your experience in this regard. re your buds nicely sprinkled with sugar silvery dew drops after harvest or does it come out as white resin during the curing process ? Potent Posted July 5, 2012 Author Share Posted July 5, 2012 Hey Hunters@Bam - Hiya bam the Trich's are turning milky so it's getting close to the chop. 3 out of the 7 doctor's i have really resemble the Great White Shark with the bud formation and how they look they other 4 are really frosty. I think it depends on how you dry, if you give it the time and try not to rush it the Crystals stay the same but if you dry it quickly like higher temps then Crystals shrink in size and becomes more tightly coated.@Mykol - No probs dude yes yes it does hehe@BlackChimney - Yes i will be doing a smoke report on the main strains definitely @Elektro - Thanks man that means a lot BUT SAD NEWS !!! MOLD!!! I bring very sad news today! I did my morning check and had an inspection inside the cola's of the Doctor i had in the medium tent and to my shock and surprise i discovered the early signs of mold so when i removed a couple nugs there was no denying it there was MOLD! so i instantly Cut the heads off half way down and Trimmed it all up and managed to save half of the Cola's each. I then spent 2 hours going through the rest of my girls being as rough as i needed to be and i could not see any other traces so fingers crossed i have caught it in time.I have had Mold once before and that was on one of my HUGE Cola's on my last GWS and this Pheno of the Doctor definitely resembles the GWS in this and its just got too much resin in the buds for the 60% humidity range I'm an idiot lesson is learnt!Only if i managed to try the DIY style dehumidifier i feel such an idiot!This is When i hope i have caught it in time and it has not spread i guess i will find out in a couple of days. But this is the reason i have the Dehumidifier in the Large tent, if i lose a few at least i can save the many!So MENTAL NOTE! I was more or less talking about silvery crystals in buds when growing, i know in curing it can come out one way white like snow or silvery shimmering like dew drops and that is the sugar everyone loves.Aninteresting experience was keeping half ounce buds in alu-folie and leaving it with the landlord for 10 days from jamaica to chicago and back. I happened to buy a pair gold coated sunglasses , which i was wearing back in Negril. asking the Lady for the buds I unwrapped it and could not believe my eyes . in the meantime the silvery dew came out from these fantastic quality Sensi and thru the golden sunglasses I thought the bud was actually producing real GOLD. I got para looking around if someone watched me or heard me utter "GOLD" . Gold fever attack till i realized it was just an optical illusion.Did not know back then that buds could be that sweaty looking.#Great smoke of course.Good luck with the rest and best cut down what is ready BEFORe more mold attacks your precious high grade !Mazeltov Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Potent Posted July 6, 2012 Author Share Posted July 6, 2012 Hey dudes, Yes it was quite the shock but it was all my own fault lesson learnt and that's the main thing at an estimate i would say i lost about 1.5 ounces once dried.... could have bin a lot worse!Luckily in the big tent with the dehumidifier in the humidity stays between 40-45% now so that's all good and WOW all are looking lovely and i'm falling in love with the Exodus! The smell does remind me of the cheese of old which is a really good thing hehe smells more like it than the dinafem cheese does anyway!I had time to get to the store so i've made the DIY dehumidifierItems needed;2 x 2 litre bottlesCat litterLarge grain salt (Coarse sea salt)Skewer for holesScissorsTapeMethod;1 - Cut bottles in half or appropriate size2 - Fill one half with Cat litter3 - Make holes in bottom of other bottle making sure there not too big if not the salt will fall through4 - Tape the bottle with holes in to the top of bottle with Cat litter5 - Fill top section with holes in with SaltOnce done you have made a DIY dehumidifier! I cannot say how well they work as i have just made this myself but the Science and theory is there. The salt attracts the moisture thus dripping down through the holes into the Cat litter where it is absorbed. How much this lowers the humidity i have yet to tell but fingers crossed for at least 2% I have ran out of 2 litre bottles need to do a feed tomorrow so i will make another up after.Hope some other hunters find this useful and il keep you lovely people updated on the results from it if any...EDIT - After 30minutes it has dropped by 1%EDIT - After 1 hour it has dropped by 3%Peace 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Just covered in resin the pic's do not do them justice but here's a fewPics taken at day 53 floweringThe DoctorRockLockBlue WidowThe RockLock and the BlueWidow are the closest to finishing they both have rock hard nugs.I really wanted to take a few good pics of the Exodus cheese but all 3 are so heavy they have needed mega support so i'm worried about getting them out the tent for the photo's they might bend and break so i'm sorry but you all will have to wait for Harvest time for pics of those beauty's. If i got time i will take some more pics of the other plants and post them up later.Since i have added the DIY dehumidifier the humidity in the medium tent as bin around 46-49% with the lights on and then raised to 61% with the lights off. In the Large tent it is between 39-44% then raises to 55-60% when the lights are off.I think i will be making another DIY dehumidifier for the medium tent when i have more salt and then i will have conquered my humidity issue and with being so close to harvest time I should be able to really lock in the Resin!Peace 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This was a small plant from birth the smallest out of the 7 but yet had a lovely cola i think she was a bit immature when i cut but with running out of space sacrifice's had to made etc etcApologies for the lack of pics before the cut lets say i get too stoned and sometimes forget about the camera heheso yeah on with the pics.
