Day 4:

Hi Guys & Girls.

This is the first of a another journal this time with GHSC Big Bangs.

Gave them an overnight soak last week, put in Root Riot germination cubes following day and all three seeds broke their shells on Friday, since then I've repotted in little pots with Kilomix soil and they're outside in natural sunlight, spent Staurday under clear propogator lid and since then just out in open, they're now on their first pair of serrated leaves and about 1.5" - 2" tall.

Here's the pics I've taken so far.

Day 5:

Just some pics nothing else to really report, they're going well for 5 days in natural sunlight from day 1, gave them thorough soaking of plain tap water pH around 7.2-7.4, as the temps have been hot 24-27c.

Day 26:

Hey Guys & Girls,

Quick update on the Big Bangs in my greenhouse, repotted into 1liter pots with Kilomix and just fed plain tap water pH 7.2

I'm not sure whether I'm going to keep them in greenhouse and nurture them or put them out and leave up to mother nature, I think they'll do better with me looking after them but may get way too big and I have a daughter who may find them too.

Here's today's pics.

Dust: Daughter 16 but as far as I'm aware she's not tried a spliff yet, she does see me smoking but has never asked anything, if she does I'll tell her the truth.

Organicz: I have no idea what to expect yield wise depends whether I keep in greenhouse, put under LEDs or put out guerilla, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them yet. If I keep in greenhouse I would expect at least 400gms, if under lights probably no more than 50gms per plant but if they go out guerilla they could produce 1kg but I h aven't found a good place with nice soil yet so they'll stay in greenhouse until I do decide.

I also have a White Rhino x Skunk#1 clone from clone from last year, she is in greenhouse and about 60cms tall, she's growing really well but I know she won't finish till at least 3rd week of October and we can get frosts from early Oct, last year I had to harvest early so again not sure what I'm going to do with her either yet, I could just take clones off her and putting under lights, too many plants and options.

Oh yeah I also have an Ice Dream, all up I have 22 plants on the go, 8 Autobombs in tent under LED panels, 5 Royal Queen Auto Haze, 4 Royal Queen Auto AK, the Ice Dream, The White Rhino and the three Big Bangs, plus 5 Ice Dreams out guerilla growing so actually I have 27 plants to look after.

Oh and I have 20 other seeds left to plant 3 x NL Auto, 5 Creamatic Auto, 7 Autobombs and 5 Big Bang Autos, I'll start them off in July once I've harvested some that I already have.

All the best guys

Day 58 I think.

Hey Guys & Girls,

I decided after going out to my three Ice Dreams growing guerilla that it's not worth putting these Big Bangs out with them to finish as they are very disappointing, instead I'm going to keep them in the greenhouse along with one Ice Dream planted at same time as the guerilla Ice Dreams and I have one White Rhino X Skunk#1 clone off a clone in there too.

I repotted them all last week into 38cms pots with a mixture of standard peat free compost, some gravel, Perlite and vermiculite and gave them a feed of plain water pH 7.1, I then gave them some feed GHSC Indica powder nutrients EC 1.6

These are the pics I took yesterday.

PS; The small plants up at the back are Royal Queen Auto AK and Auto Haze, which I harvested yesterday after taking pics.

The small autos have been harvested last Friday drying above tent now.

The Ice Dream in greenhouse is way better than the five out guerilla growing, don't really know why unless the soil is not deep enough for good roots.

Looking forward to the end of Sept, my new autos should be ready so should the three Big Bangs and the Ice Dream, happy days if they all survive and produce just 5 ounces each, I'll have at least 20 ounces to carry me through till next grow harvest, well that's the plan.

And if the White Rhino x Skunk#1 survives the moisture and doesn't get any bud rot like last year that will be ready mid to end of Oct for maybe another 5 ounces or so.

Day 61:

Also gave them a feed of GHSC Indica powder mixed up to 1.65 EC with pH 7.1

I found a proper 8' x 6' used greenhouse someone local wants to get rid of just needs some pains of glass replacing, let's hope I get it as my little plastic thing will not last another season, the straps that hold the zip front up broke earlier and it's starting to rip where it wears on the frame and the zip door has split 2' long up the side.

Fingers crossed I get the proper greenhouse and next year will be even better, a bit of forward planning, lol

Day 78:

Hi Guys & Girls, hope all is well with you and yours.

Time for another little update on the Big Bangs, one Ice Dream and one White Rhino x Skunk#1 in the plastic greenhouse. Unfortunately, I did not win the Ebay auction for the proper metal frame and glass greenhouse but have feelers out for one.

I've been feeding them GHSC Indica powder formula at around 1.5 EC and pH around 6.8 alternating between nutes and plain water on next feed. They should all start the flowering process soon the Big Bangs and Ice Dream will show before the White Rhino x Skunk#1, whicch flowers a few ago after as they mature about 3 wks later.

All plants measure between 85cms - 1m

Here's today's pics.

All the best.

Hey Dust, the one front right is the White Rhino x Skunk#1, yes she has some browning of leaves but nothing too serious I'll be keeping an eye on her and just flush if gets any worse.

I'm hoping to get 5oz off each of them but who knows.

Hey Guys, what's going on with my White Rhino x Skunk#1 and one of my Big Bangs?

WR x S#1 has droopy eaves and a brownish colour through the central vein of some fan leaves?

One of the Big Bangs has yellowish spots on the leaves?

Hi Guys & Girls.

Tee hee, it was the complete opposite, they were drying out!!!

I used my two pronged ph/moisture tester and dug in down about 20cms and it just over the first mark of moisture so gave them a good feed of GHSc Indica powder at EC 1.6 with a pH 6.9

They perked up within about ten minutes and are reaching for the skies now, we've had a full on day of sunshine today too so all is well in the greenhouse again for now.

The problem was the soil had dried so much that when I watered them in the week most of it just ran straight off and only a little bit was retained so last night I watered, then gave them a break for 20 mins and watered again and repeated that twice more till they were fully soaked all the way through.

yeah nice that you solved your problem man ;)

To avoid the water to not enter the soil like you say, i always "break my soil" with a long wood pike or a fork, and do it on all the surface of the pots, it does avoid the water to run directly on the side and flow away. Then i water 5dl very slowly and everywhere and do it on all the plant then come back to the first and give the other half, that way it absorbs better, taking time during the watering is the best way to make a good watering ;)

you can also sometimes fill a big bucket of water and soak your plants in it, it waters from above, and aerate the soil a little and you're sure it's all wet ;)

Update:

Hi Guys & Girls, I gave my girls a feed of plain old water no nutes, no Rhizotonic, no nothing, just water at pH 6.8

I also set up a mesh and bent them all into position under it as they were getting way to big to finish growing straight upright, so with the mesh they've about another meter to grow across it before I have to think again.

Only one is possible showing first pistils of flowering, I hope they show soon or they'll finish too late and might get bud rot or mold in the greenhouse it gets a bit humid in there.

Here's a couple of pics so you can see what I've done.

All the best.
