Punk-on-Skunk Posted October 6, 2012 Share Posted October 6, 2012 Hi guys, not too sure if this query is in the right section sorry if it is?This is my third grow, I have a 125W and 200W CFL s for vegging, but they keep burning out ive replaced them both 3 times now and they are recommended for 70,000 light cycles on the timer. My first ones lasted the whole 3 month grow because i tend to keep them in the tent to help back up my HPS, But they burnt out within 2 days of the second day. Now my new ones have burnt out already and im a week into my new grow! Does anyone know what causes this? i pack them away back in the boxes carefully when finished with, so im not too sure what the problem is because they definatly havent done 70,000 light cycles. Dust Posted October 6, 2012 Share Posted October 6, 2012 how did you get them? on internet or directly in shop? i don't like to take bulbs by post, often comes broken or damaged.If it comes from shop, either he has a very bad stock, or it comes from your house, is everything plugged corectly? no problem with connectics? changes of intensity in your electricity?Are they close to your hps? maybe the heat hurting them?good luck man Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ghost Grower Posted October 8, 2012 Share Posted October 8, 2012 Do not put your fingers on the bulb when you plug it, this create a heating point and kill the bulb. (this is valid for all kinds of bulbs)If you plugged your bulb with your fingers that's maybe the reason, better use a cloth or something to do it.
