Firstly let me say your plants are looking great.I do like a bit of Super Crit , NL is an old time favorite and Sweet Mango is one I'm gonna have to try nothing but good things said about her. :D

Mildews, molds & bud rot, never a happy day discovering these, this video and the UCV light it shows, may be of interest, let me know what you think.

VIDEO HERE -

!

In the late stages of flowering you dont want to be spraying anything directly on the buds. Good air flow and reducing humidity with a dehumidifyer or higher extraction rate if your fan is not already turned up to max.

UVC light will kill 99% of bacteria fungus & fungal spores. There are many UVC devices around most of them arent aimed at weed grower but will still do the same job and kill those nasties.

Light in the video is "Clean Light" and can be found here - http://www.cleanligh.../tags/uvc-lamp/

You can also google UVC Wand or UVC Sanitary Wand.

IMPORTANT WARNING. YOU MUST NOT EXPOSE SKIN OR EYES TO THE UVC LIGHT. TAKE PRECAUTIONS MENTIONED IN THE VIDEO. NEVER PLAY AROUND OR LOOK AT THE LIGHT FROM THE BULB.

iF USED CORRECTLY YOU WILL BE SAFE.

Hope this is helpful, if not now , maybe in the future.

Peace bro

Thanks for that great info Lams. And almost forgot, all great advice, but to let ya know I've had a dehumidifier running 24 hrs since flowering and humidity has generally been about 35 - 45%, my extractor fan is running full, and I've had both oscillating fans running 24 hrs instead of just the one for about a week now. So got that covered :) I took a look at the video for the UV light and it looks pretty promising! I'd heard that the technology would be soon available to hobbyists, really cool that it is now :) They do have a distribution warehouse in Canada, unfortunately it is $329 at the moment. When you consider that an oz. of medical grade weed can run almost that much $$, and the fact that it could save multiple oz's from your own crop, and the fact that if your crop fails due to fungus you will be buying weed at that price, it totally makes sense to me, it just isn't in the budget before Christmas. I'm sure the price will drop with a little time. I am definitely planning on getting one in the near future though, maybe for my Cup crop. LUCKILY, and cross my fingers, the Super C's seem to be doing really well since I cut off the offending leaflets and flushed them. No new spots and they look like they really appreciated the flush with the DNF Clear I gave them. Hairs are really turning orange quickly and drawing back into calyxes that are swelling up, and they are nice and sparkly, more trichomes than the Moby's I grew last, and they were pretty resinous. flushed the 3rd Super C today, and the one Sweet Mango (A) is definitely ready for flushing tomorrow. Smells are very intense in the tent right now & a complex mixture with the 3 strains and plants close to finishing are very powerful.Should be a 4 plant harvest in about a week!! Did some experimenting with the camera and close-ups & macros..stay tuned for a flood of bud porn soon :)peace

@ Atrox..good to see you back :)

So, I had a break in today, into my tent anyways. Luckily all that was stolen were some large chunks off some lower fan leaves. The thief..Mr. Kush, our cat. And here is the proof in pictures :swoon: ..and his eyes! lol... I guess I now have to keep the door to the basement closed as well!

I threw in a few more Super C porn pics for the hell of it...no one wants to just look at pictures of a pussy and a hole..or wait, do they?

And it's ok, what looks like a bit of dark colour on the leaves is just from the LED light..no worries they all still look healthy :)

ON A SIDE NOTE..for all Pink Floyd fans & fans of Dub style music..this is a psychedelic must see and hear..It DOES have some drum n bass for a bit at the intro, which is cool, but if you aren't into it it phases out and back to a more Dub style quickly..hope everyone enjoys..be sure to light up first or during :)

Off to flush Sweet Mango © :)

Peace to all

Ya since there was no damage, other than the tent that can be fixed, I wasn't angry at all, I thought it was funny as hell. Ever since he got his first taste he just LOVES the leaves. Whenever he can he runs downstairs and rolls around outside the tent. If I pick him up and bring him to the air vents to look in he jams his nose to the vent and just inhales great big breathes of of the ganja every time the fan blows it towards the vent. It's really funny and proof that it isn't only humans who love this wonderful plant :)

Thanks for stopping by again Dust..always a pleasure :)

Hey Smokey. With humidity id only be using the dehumidifier for lowering the humidity level. You may like it to be a little higher right now but 50% is ok its just not perfect. i believe what most people do is to use dehumidifiers to "dehumidify" the air at end of flowering to prevent mold and help the plants do there thing so you might wanna bring it down a bit then. But for now if you really wanna raise humidity leave a couple of bowls of water in front of one of your fans that works good to raise humidity, its lowering humidity that seems to be the hard thing for people to do. Nice journal btw also buddy.

That is what you get from blowing him all the weed smoke - stoner cat, cats are criminals by nature and only get worse by age. So I am not surprised to see that kind of criminal enery - a burglar, too.Zzzhh.

I feel her motivation when I look at the suoercit buds . Man that plantis about same size as one of my Tropical Ice and I doubt there will be a huge differene in overall yield. Close that cellar door next, pets should be outside the groww room for flowering, sinc they can carry all kinds of fleas, fungi and bacteria to your pecious girls.

Don't tell her I said so, or she haunt me by night..

I'm glad everyone else saw the humor in the situation!

LMAO ahhh Bam..I forget you have had run-ins with cats before..ya this one has quite the personality loves the green leaves..and is very mischievious as you can see!

Rofl! I love it!

She do not look that much guilty and she would prob do it again without even a thought!

Kind of funny she actually broke in!

I do understand her with buds looking like that.

Ya bro he keeps trying to get down there again, VERY persistent and LOVES the leaves :) Now that the plants have been thoroughly flushed I will treat him with a few sugar leaves :)

Thanks for stopping by and appreciating the journal man :) I think you may have misunderstood though, I have been using my humidifier to keep rhumidity around 35-40% which I consider to be a good range for flowering and for my set-up. My main issue coming up is trying to create two climate zones in adjacent rooms, one for finishing flowering (35-40%) and one for drying (45-50%). So far my solution is to begin drying for the first 48 hrs in the basement in the hopefully 45% rH room @ around 22 degrees C then to move it upstairs to a room that I can keep at around 55% to slow the process a bit to get all of the pigments and nasty ass tasting chlorophyll out of the buds before going in jars.

Hello and Merry (almost) Christmas to all who celebrate!! :santaclaus:

I apologize for lack of an update, with Christmas and multiple finishing plants things have been hopping around here! So, to make up for this I'm going to flood you with multiple posts and lots of pictures, starting with a little bit of an early harvest (early only in days compared to harvesting the rest of the plant, the buds were ready and totaled 13.5 grams dry weighed today), then moving onto the 3 plant harvest 48 hours ago, and finishing with a 3rd post of myself making some Moby Dick (from last harvest) hash last night outside in the freezing cold Canadian style!! I may make some more today, have still got some Pure Kush buds & mixed trim from last grow, plus a really nice amount of trim from the 2 super c's and the one Sweet mango..I think some Super Sweet Critical Mango bubble hash would be nice eh?

I have to add..first impressions of the Super Critical Auto buds are VERY VERY good!! Appearance wise very resinous, a nice slight bluish tinge to the green, smell is still developing and one plant is more fruity while another is more spicy but both are strong and above average in pleasantness lol. POWERFUL, is the first word that comes to mind as for effect, even though newly cut and a lot in the head it instantly relaxes, pain and stress fade away and smiles become wide I've included pictures of the super C buds taken today 6 days since harvest.

I'm again going to basically copy and past my personal journal since there is so much info and not much time for me to sort through it, that will be a job for anyone brave enough to read everything..sorry if it is excessive :P

So, here is the 1st of 3 posts that I hope to get to today..if you don't like to read, please scroll down for pictures

PEACE MY FRIENDS :victory:

- Mango (A) still seems to be struggling. Large fan leaves are turning yellow & then brown quickly starting at tips. I’m thinking it is a lack of nutes or it could need a flush, but problem seemed to show up after a really light feed + another medium feed so leaning towards she is hungry. She is a big plant and maybe I have not been respecting her size and need for food?

-Going to test her run-off – RUN-OFF good pH @ 6.2 J

- Watered Sweet Mango (A) w/5 L r/o (@pH 6.0 & temp. 20°C)

Cal Mag Plus @ 0.75 mL/L x 5 = 3.75 mL

Carbo @ 0.3 g/L x 5 = 1.5 g

DNF Enhance @ 1 mL/L x 5 L = 5 mL

Advanced Nutrients Overdrive @ 1 mL/L x 5 L = 5 mL

GHSC Hybrid Powderfeed @ 0.8 g/L x 5 = 4 g

Potassium Silicate @ 0.125 mL/L x 5 = 0.625 mL

16/12/12

- Top buds on Super C’s (A) & (B), with the most yellowed dying leaves were starting to turn what looked to be brownish black on the upper calyx tips and the outside of some bud leaves. I was concerned (aka paranoid) and thought maybe fungus had gotten them and harvested any buds in this condition. Once I got them into regular light the brownish black looks more purplish and the hairs on these calyxes seem to be the most died back, and I think this is just natural progression of the plant towards the end of flowering. I did a careful check if the interior of the bud and everything looks awesome, no fungal growth etc at all. The discolouration only occurred on the uppermost buds, the ones most ripe. So, I’m ok with the decision I made, cut about 9 or so tops that were ripe anyways, but would have liked them all to get flushed twice and have a few more days. My main concern was that if there was something wrong they could infect other buds. Going to flush again today and harvest the rest of the 2 Super ©’s in 2-3 days J

-Also leads me to conclude I could have probably given them a bit more nutes since they seem to have lost colour a little early and I would like to keep leaves healthy as long as possible keeping in mind I also want the plant to be flushed properly and use up its nutrient stores. Lots of variables to consider!

-Big improvement of Sweet Mango (A) since yesterday’s water with increased nutes. I think I even could have given her a bit more.

-GOING TO WANT TO ORDER SOME MORE POWDERFEED IN TIME FOR IT TO BE SHIPPED! PLAN AHEAD. May want to consider a bag of "Mother/Veg" & a "Sativa" bag for the SLH

- -Going to check run-off pH today, keeping in mind that I’ve just been raising my pH as it was a little low for flowering so I’m expecting some readings lower than the water going in–( should be checking ph runoff more often)

Watered Northern L (A) w/5 L r/o +(@ 6.2 pH & Temp: 21°C )

Run-off pH = 6.0

Cal Mag Plus @ 0.8 mL/L x 5 = 4 mL

Carbo @ 0.3 g/L x 5 = 1.5 g

Enhance @ 0.75 mL/L x 5 L = 3.75 mL

Advanced Nutrients Overdrive @ 1.2 mL/L x 5 =6 mL (+.5 mL/L)

GHSC Powderfeed @ 0.8 g/L x 5 = 4 g

Potassium Silicate @ 0.125 mL/L = 0.625 Ml

Watered NL (B) w/ 5 L r/o (@ 6.1 pH & Temp: 22°C)

Run-off pH = 6.3

Cal Mag Plus @ 0.5 mL/L x 5 = 2.5 mL

Carbo @ 0.3 g/L x 5 = 1.5 g

DNF Enhance @ 0.5 mL/L x 5 L = 2.5 mL

GHSC Powderfeed @ 0.4 g/L x 5 = 2 g

Potassium Silicate @ 0.1 mL/L x 5 = 0.5 mL

Watered Sweet Mango (B) w/5 L r/o (@ 6.1 pH & Temp: 21°C)

Runoff pH = 6.2

Cal Mag Plus @ 0.6 mL/L x 5 = 3 mL

Carbo @ 0.3 g/L x 5 = 1.5 g

DNF Enhance @ 0.75 mL/L x 5 L = 3.75 mL

Advanced Nutrients Overdrive @ 1 mL/L x 5 L = 5 mL

GHSC Hybrid Powderfeed @ 0.7 g/L x 5 = 3.5 g

Potassium Silicate 0.125 mL/L = 0.625 mL

Flushed Super C’s (A) & (B) each w/10 L each r/o (@ 6.0 pH & Temp: 19°C )

2x

Cal-Mag @ 0.3 mL/L x 10L = 3 m/L

DNF Clear @ 2.5 mL/L x 10 L = 25mL

18/12/12

- The already cut Super c. buds continue to dry nicely – will probably transfer them to a paper bag tomorrow for a bit

- Super C (A) & (B) are ready for harvest and will be cut in 2 days (the 20th ) before the lights come on. (B) smells really spicey, peppery, and sour, while (A) is more on the fruity side with spice. Noticed some amber and some pinkish hued trichomes, very cool!

- Sweet Mango © – smells like skunky citrus right now

- Super C © getting her second flush today & will be ready for harvest in the next 2-4 days as well. She has a nice big heavy main cola that is swaying in the breeze and smells very strong, like earthy shoe polish, medicinal like.

- Avge temperature lights on 26 deg. °C & humidity 40%

Flushed Super C © w/10 L r/o ( @ 6.0 pH & temp 21°C)

Cal-Mag @ 0.3 mL/L x 10L = 3 mL

DNF Clear @ 2.5 mL/L x 10 L = 25mL

Flushed Sweet Mango © w/10 L r/o (6.0 pH & temp 21°C)

Cal-Mag + @ 0.3 mL/L x 10L = 3 m/L

DNF Clear @ 2.5 mL/L x 10 L = 25mL

Watered Sweet Mango (A) w/4 L r/o (@pH 6.2 & temp. 20°C)

- 1 Day early, 1 liter less – hitting it hard with nutes & adding some Green for the over yellowing of the leaves

Cal Mag Plus @ 0.75 mL/L x 4 = 3 mL

Carbo @ 0.3 g/L x 4 = 1.2 g

DNF Bloom Fortifier powder (0-50-30) @ 0.11 mL/L x 4 L = 0.45 mL

DNF Enhance @ 1 mL/L x 4 L = 4 mL

DNF Green @ 1 mL/L x 4 L = 4 mL

GHSC Hybrid Powderfeed @ 0.875 g/L x 4 = 3.5 g

Potassium Silicate @ 0.125 mL/L x 5 = 0.625 mL

19/12/12

- Opening the tent today the smells are getting INTENSE! I can really start to smell what I recognize as the unique sour smell of the Northern Lights as it gets to 1 – 2 weeks till finish

- Trimmed Super C’s A & B leaves to get em ready for harvest tomorrow morning! (A) leave’s a strong medicinal like lemon smell on my hands

Thanks Dust :) Ya I am really liking the smells and effect..can't wait to try some sweet mango in the volcano, she is smelling more like mango as time goes by.

Still 2 more updates to come with plenty more pictures and info :P BUT I got distracted by my desire to make bubblehash with the fresh frozen trim lol..what can I say?

@ Atrox..thanks for stopping by and enjoying man..and I will enjoy..hard to leave the new stuff alone already lol

@ Budmeister..thanks for the kind words bro..ya it's not gonna be a record breaker for yield but definitely decent for auto's I think..when you consider that the three I just harvested only took 10 weeks or less from seed, the amount of money I saved in electricity costs + less nutes etc. is something to consider. And so far even only having been cut 7 days ago this is some potent ass green man! I would never think it was autoflower unless someone told me..or I grew it lol. But then again this is my first time trying an auto so I'm lucky to get into them with the newer generation more potent autos.

Kush (the cat) has already had a taste of a few sugar leaves now that they were flushed, but no, no buds for kitty lol..a mild experience is ok but I don't want to freak him out :)

Hoping to get my next post with pictures today if I can get a few things done first!

PEACE

I really appreciate the kind words, I am very happy if any of the information can help you. Please keep in mind if you do use my journal as a guide that this was my second grow and there was definitely room for improvement. One thing, I think I was a little light on the nutrients for awhile for a few of the plants, although towards the end I was able to correct this somewhat and give them what they wanted. Please pay close attention to where I think I made mistakes and to later posts where I've tried to indicate where I think I've went wrong or could have improved things, so it pays to read a bit ahead in this case. Also the specific environment and conditions that you have in your grow room (lights, ventilation, CO2 or no CO2, temperature, humidity, nutrients, medium used to grow in etc.) will all affect what should be done and when..I'm sure you already understand this though :) Best of luck with your room!

Peace

MERRY CHRISTMAS STRAINHUNTERS! Sorry it took so long, here are the harvest pictures, I'm sorry not many close ups this time, I will get more once they are cured and try to get more in future harvests.

Quick update, I cut and hung the 3rd Super Critical Auto today and she is waiting to be trimmed this evening and hung in the makeshift dry boxes I constructed.

As well, after 5 days of drying (24 hours in initial low rh, 40%, & higher temperature room, 22-23 degrees C, before being moved to a room for the rest of the dry that I'm able to keep at 16-17 degrees Celsius & 58-60% rH to slow the drying process so that pigments and chlorophyll are broken down) all of the 3 plants from this harvest are in glass jars about 1/2 - 2/3 full to bring out the moisture from the middle of the buds and to begin the curing process. The jars are opened and "burped" every 3-4 hrs and opened for about 15 - 20 minutes in the morning. Once they are a little more dry I will open them daily, then weekly once long term curing begins.

I hope everyone enjoys the pictures, next post will be a hash making post followed by more harvest posts as the plants come down. The final 4 plants have lots of space and are finishing nicely. The big Northern Lights Auto got flushed yesterday, while the 2 sweet mangos that I was underfeeding have been ramped up to getting heavy feeds and as a result have shown amazing improvement and will probably get flushed next water. The Mango that I lst'd towards the end is MASSIVE in size for an auto I think. You will see when she is out of the tent for harvest, easily takes up the space of two of the other plants. And finally, the 2nd Northern Lights auto while smaller thanks to my accidental supercrop accident, is FULL of trichomes, very healthy, and unique..she has only 3 main colas, with one of them branching off at the tip of the bud into 2 buds..very cool.

OK enough said as usual :P A NOTE TO DO WITH PICTURES..I'm really trying to figure out my camera and work on better pictures with less exposure (bright light)..hope I figure it out to show the best the buds have to offer :)

Here's to everyone having a peaceful holiday season and to all a fat blunt!! :kingxmas:

20/12/12

- Harvest for Super C’s A & B & Sweet Mango C!! Trimmed and hung in cardboard boxes in room @ 40% humidity & 20-23 degrees Celsius for initial drying.

- Watered Northern L (A) & Sweet Mango (B) w/5 L each r/o +(@ 6.2 pH & Temp: 20°C )

Cal Mag Plus @ 0.6 mL/L x 10 = 6 mL

Carbo @ 0.3 g/L x 10 = 3 g

DNF Bloom Fortifier @ 0.11 (0-50-30) @ 0.11 mL/L x 10 = approx.1.25 mL

Advanced Nutrients Overdrive @ 1 mL/L x10 =10 mL

GHSC Powderfeed @ 0.7 g/L x 10 = 7 g

Potassium Silicate @ 0.125 mL/L x 10 = 1.25 mL

21/12/2012

- LESSON LEARNED: After noticing some brown roots at the bottom of the harvested plants I think I’m going to try to water with less volume and more often, so a day earlier, and a liter less type of thing when possible. As well, for next grow I’m going to increase the amount of drainage holes. Root system did look very nice and big without being potbound, and some browning of roots may have occurred during the couple of flushing they received.

- LESSON LEARNED: Seeing the amount of smaller buds & popcorn especially on Super C (A) gives me a better idea of what lower buds to leave, and what lower buds should be cut early on to promote energy use towards upper colas.

-Watered Sweet Mango (A) w/5 L r/o (@pH 6.2 & temp. 20°C) (took 1 L from NL(B) mix – no run-off with 4 L even after only 3 days! She is very hungry the increased nutes have increased her metabolism) Gonna hit her hard again with a little more food than last time.

Cal Mag Plus @ 0.875 mL/L x 4 = 3.5 mL

Carbo @ 0.3 g/L x 4 = 1.2 g

DNF Bloom Fortifier powder (0-50-30) @ 0.16 mL/L x 4 L = 0.625 mL

DNF Enhance @ 1 mL/L x 4 L = 4 mL

DNF Green @ 1.5 mL/L x 4 L = 6 mL

GHSC Hybrid Powderfeed @1 g/L x4 = 4 g

Potassium Silicate @ 0.125 mL/L x 5 = 0.625 mL

-Watered NL (B) w/ 5 L r/o (@ 6.1 pH & Temp: 22°C)

(Mixed 6 L to add 1 L to the Mango above)

Cal Mag Plus @ 0.6 mL/L x 6 = 3.6 mL

Carbo @ 0.3 g/L x 6 = 1.8 g

Advanced Nutrients Overdrive @ 1 mL/L x6 =6 mL

GHSC Powderfeed @ 0.5 g/L x 6 = 3 g

Potassium Silicate @ 0.1 mL/L x 6 = 0.625 mL
