Gaz Posted January 28, 2013 Share Posted January 28, 2013 Hi guys this is only my second grow report and I have luckily been sent some White Strawberry Skunk (WSS) Seeds and 1 Kg of Hybrid Feed, to enter this great competition. It was my intention to get these growing after my first dable with GHS, but as in everyone's lives things conspire against us. Anyway soil finally sorted and ready to grow. I was a little concerned at the lack of grow reports for WSS and problems with a couple of the other reports i had read and was a bit worried. So i will also be growing the remaining seed I had from my last grow! A GH White Rhino with GHF and a White Widow freebie from Royal Queen.I am going to compare my normal Hesi feed Vs Green House Hybrid feed (GHF), so this being the case I have planted 6 WSS seeds, three will be fed with Hesi and 3 with GH Powderfeed , I only planted them Friday and to my amazement and excitement 3 have just appeared, did not do anything to fancy when sewing my seeds, got some small pots and filled with shop bought easy mix, Soil with and worm cast, pumice stone,twigs etc Ph 5.8 - 6.2 . I then poked a hole aproximatley 10-15 mm below the surface and popped in my seeds, gave them a drop of warm water and left them in a dark warm cupboard. 4 days later here we go. They will also get some clay pebbles when i need to replant them into there 12 litre pots. Getting ahead of myself already, patience.Once the others have sprouted I will leave them in the daylight for a day, then move them under a 400w HPS for vegging. I will leave them there until they reach the 4th internode. They will be sharing the light during vegging with 3 DP Think different Autoflowers , so to waste as little light as possible, once they are ready for flowering will spread the plants below 2 x 400 HPS. I also have a fan or two for the grow room and that is all.Quite a basic setup, but i believe if you get the fundamental basics right (Heat, light and feed/water), then you can achieve decent results. Gaz Posted January 31, 2013 Author Share Posted January 31, 2013 I like how members make compare grows with the Powderfeed. So far i have only seen good reports.You are right in what you thinking. Small means will get you a long way. Sun, soil and water. All you need for next time in transplant would be clay pebbles at the bottom and about 20-25% perlite and you are more than ready to go.Good luck buddy! Have some clay pebbles ready for transplant time. Not used them for a while so will be intresting to see what happens. Hopefully. Gaz Posted January 31, 2013 Author Share Posted January 31, 2013 The babies are now all sprouted, managed to drop 2 seeds in one pot, so now 5 x White Strawberry Skunk. i have topped up the soil and give them some plain tap water (rested overnight). They are shooting up after only 3 days on earth. Felt quite cruel putting them under the light, when closing the cellar door. Gaz Posted February 6, 2013 Author Share Posted February 6, 2013 Here is my update from day 7 , I have planted another WSS (4 days ago) so I now have 6 in total. Not much to say at his point really, they are currently basking under 400 w HPS, maybe overkill but needs must for now. They are all around 7-10 cm and have nice bright green leaves. I am going to start feeding them this week. 3 WSS will be getting the Hesi and 3 WSS and the 1 WW and 1 WR on he Powder feed. As like the idea of a simple all in one feed, keep thing simple. All seeds are doing equally well, however i have a couple of the WSS that look like mutants, really crinkly leaves bending downwards and upwards, will post some more pictures of the mutant, this week! Like the look of this Greenhouse magic powder feed, add to water one feed suits all stages, so no messing about, and no more expensivel. Gaz Posted February 14, 2013 Author Share Posted February 14, 2013 Time for an update day 16, you'll be glad to see got my arse in gear and got the camera working 12 million bad boy pixels!I have not much to say really, got a bit of moss forming, but watered them just before light went out last time, going to look out for some silver sand should also help reflect any light also, might wait for the repot first as getting that sorted this week, will get some pics when I do the transplant. Have bought some clay pebbles to throw into the mix, so will be upgrading to 12 litre pots shortly, they will stay in these to the end. The White Rhino and The RQS WW are also lapping up the Powder Feed. i have just repotted the RQS WW, as pot was minute.Do you guys generally put a layer of clay pebbles then the soil into your pots or also mix the clay pebbles into the soil? any advise appreciated as not used with clay pebbles before, as all my grows are/have been done on a shoe-string budget for the moment. ( light, fan)I have to say in my nutrient comparison, that the HESI v GHF , that the Povwderfeed is showing slight signs of being better than the Hesi, i am baseing this on the stems being slightly fatter than the Hesi fed plants, But early days yet.Any way the photo's Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
