Photojournal from Nepal hashish trip

A few years back we were travelling in beautiful Nepal for a few months. I met some fellow hash lovers over there and we chatted about going on a mountain journey to find some quality. The idea was to search out the mountain goodies and try to find the finest handrubbed charas. We all met next morning and set off on a 3 day hashish adventure that took us from the plains up to some of the high Himalayan peaks.

Started off with a few spliffs in the taxi, roads were a bit wonky but nothing compared to what we were in for...

Seemingly the road had been badly damaged by a landslide and alot of it was missing so we went for a wander..

Back on the road again. After 4 hours we had to say goodbye to our taxi and its driver as the road became impossible for him to continue. From here we have to find a 4x4 to take us further into the mountains. Then the trek begins.

Heres the "new" jeep we got hold of. Not a bad piece of gear to be honest. Perfectly comfortable way to explore the worlds worst roads. Cost us 50 euro between 4 of us for a 6 hour drive into the night and high into the mountains......some of which seemed to be on fire????

On various occasions throughout the drive we had to get out and mend the wooden bridges across rivers and valleys. Was feckin mental to have to get outta the jeep stoned shitless and slightly hammered on local rum to fix bridges. But a good laugh.....

Crossing the last bridge and not far from our drop off point at Ghasa. The ride was intense but I was just glad it was so dark outside that I couldnt see the huge drop offs. It was also hard to skin up a decent joint with all the bumping around. Time to find a guesthouse and have a few relaxing rums, washed down with a barrage of chillums.. We were now close to the base of mount Dualaghiri and I couldnt wait to see it all in the morning light.

Waking up to this view was incredible. We could see our destination was just beyond the valley followed by a steep trek up to the village area. From here we started to see the remains of the weed harvest everywhere. Every field seemed full with plants but when you moved in closer they were on their last legs. The hashish had been harvested in september,1 month previous. Even though they were in their autumn years, the plants still had an amazing aroma and range of colours. I was looking forward to sampling the resin from these plants and was eager to indulge. Not long now....

You can see our destination just above our heads. First we cross the wire/rope bridge, and then the steep ascent to Lete village. Village cant be seen but is nestled in the trees under the snowy peaks. Looks deceivingly close but was a decent walk up to the top. Then we can score some hashish and go exploring...

great story man keep it coming living it with you while reading ^^

Cheers Dust. Was a great trip to be on. So excited about the goodies we were about to get our hands on. Also, such a beautiful place and the locals were some of the friendliest people I ever met. Hopefully going on another journey to the region when I get the cash together. If anyone wants to meet up in the himalayas for a hashish quest this autumn, gimme a PM and we go exploring. Peace.

Some of the first batch we got our hands on. 1 month old and very tasty. Few different grades in the mix. Some was very soft and oily and some was rough jungli charas. All handrubbed and all pure. Gotta love a bit of the mountain goodness.

This is a look inside the roughest rubbed jungli. Lots of plant material still in there, but all the same a very aromatic smoke. Would love a piece now. Ya light up and the whole room fills with thick pungent smoke. My friends 4 year old coconut mixing bowl in the first shot. Handy for skinning up or mixing in the wind.

Nice lush mountain setting. Perfect for getting high and exploring. Lots of little villages in the neighbourhood, all brimming with charas to be tested and smoked. Really friendly place.

Some of the Nepalese pollen we picked up along they way. Again from a few different sources. Very soft and fragrant. Can be moulded but for some reason it doesnt go black. Tasty all the same. Not the same flavour as a good Moroccan but gets you nice and high. Very clean smoke. I believe this method of hash making is relatively new to this country??? They are improving alot though. Also in the mix is some very nice soft handrub. Alot of the black in Nepal is mixed or contaminated but this stuff was delicious. Should have bought more but was very high already. To get the good hash, like in every producing country ya need to get to the origin and meet the farmers. In Nepal, like Morocco and India, that is very easy.

Running outta time up in the mountains. We had a great time and got to sample many different types of tasty hashish. We also got to experience the high peaks together and what a place it is. Time to shoot back down the crazy road to the lush tropical foothills. The hunt is still on for high quality, and on that front Nepal has alot to offer.

Heres some footage of us coming back down the mountains. Crazy roads and drops everywhere. The Nepali music in the background is the perfect backdrop to our adventures end. Time to get back to the foothills and enjoy our stash with the rest of our friends.

Back to the tropical beauty of 890 meters above sea level. Also a photo from earlier in the trip where I attempted to rub some charas for myself. After 30 mins I had enough for a joint. Its in the spliff already. I dont think my hash is gonna be winning any Cannabis cups in the near future......

Ah.....back to my Nepalese home. Was really happy with our collection of fine resins but had to call into another friend on the last leg of our adventure. During my whole 4 months over there, he consistently had the finest pollen at a good price so I bought these chunks to add to the collection. Good times. NEPAL

Never

Ending

Peace

And

Love

Cheers justx, such a fuckin amazing place. Really feeling a strong urge to go back over and explore more of it. So many places in Nepal are extremely remote and therefore quite untravelled. I reckon ya could find some nice genetics in some obscure valley. Gonna have to wait and see...
