Tastynugz Kush Kullection

Thought I had better start this before I get too far ahead of myself, this grow will be in a 4x4x7 grow tent, vegging with 600 watt MH and flowering with a 600 watt HPS dual spectrum, vented hood with 6 inch exhaust fan and carbon filter to suit, plants will be grown in a soil mix which I make myself. Using organic nutrients and guano and worm cast teas for feeding. My posts might seem to be a bit all over the place though as I am having issues with my enter button, so until the problem gets sorted I apologise ahead of time. I will be growing 4 different strains of Kush for this grow all with very similar grow times and growth heights, the line up includes Pineapple chunk, Violator kush, Vanilla kush and Purple wreck. I placed the beans into 4 sterile containers filled with PH 6.5 water and left to soak for 24 hours, all sunk straight away except the vanilla kush, which sank the next morning but looked very black and suspicious. By the end of the 24 hours the violator and the purple wreck had sprouted in the water. :spiteful: 17/4/2013

quick update, 20/4/2013 three of the ladies have accepted my invite, the suss vanilla bean never popped, so I put it in a peat plug just in case and soaked another, this one sank straight away and was sprouting 12 hours later so I placed it in the free pot in the dome, today being the 21/4/2013 all are doing great and you can see in the picture that the late vanilla bean is already coming through the soil. In order of pics purple wreck, violator kush, vanilla kush and pineapple chunk. Cheers Tastynugz

7 days old (average in between the first sprouts and the late vanilla bean) time for an update on the girls, in order of pics pineapple chunk, violator kush, vanilla kush and purple wreck. All are now under 600 watt metal halide on 18-6, also just mention this is my first indoor grow, so any input to help out a new guy is much appreciated. Cheers Tastynugz.

yes Dust, vanilla kush was put in 2 days later due to first seed not sprouting, but is catching up fast and the pineapple chunks seedling leaves were sort of fused together and looks a little deformed, but the next set coming on are looking normal. Will see how it goes.

Cheers Dust, I "think" it was a lack of nitrogen in my primary soil mix, ( any other suggestions?) now they have been repotted they are getting a nicer shade of green to them, this was my reason for repotting a little earlier than I had originally planned, watering with PH 6.4 water no nutes yet just a fish emulsion 1/2 strength spray when repotted, as the mix is a supersoil mix I will add nutes when the girls ask me to, Cheers Tastynugz.

Hi to all, the ladies are 21 days old today, and all is looking well, the yellowing did continue to get worse, so I did a PH test on the soil, which read 6.0 on the limit of the low side for soil, ( nitrogen was locked up by the acidic soil) so I mixed 4 tablespoons of sifted dolomite lime to 2 litres of water PH 6.4 and dissolved the best I could, I then shared this among the 4 of them, the next morning the difference was like night and day. Other than this they have received only PH 6.4 aged tap water, temp is at 27c and relative humidity is between 40-50% daytime and 50-65% at night. I am going to scrog the girls for a little more yield, I am thinking of topping at the fourth internode which will give me 8 branches per plant to play with. Cheers Tastynugz.

Thanks for the comments guys, the plants are coming on very strong now and got topped today ready for scrog, Used the tops as some practice for cloning as I have never cloned before, we'll see how it goes. Cheers Tastynugz

day 28 update, had a bit of trouble with the purple wreck being attacked by aphids, damaged it pretty bad on the lower branches as you can see before I noticed the little fuckers  quickly mixed up a garlic spray and turned their day to shit, never really had an aphid problem on my outdoors, but at that time of year my yard is full of ladybugs, the purple lady is slowly starting to bounce back, the scrog training is going well, might have troubles filling up the purple wreck corner though, although the clones I took of the top cuts are doing great, so I was thinking about chucking one in a pot and using it to help fill the void that the aphid's have created. Any thaughts on doing this, would it be worth it? Damaged plant is in pictures 2 and 3. Cheers Tastynugz

Thanks for the comments Dust and hello to all, day 35 report, and all is looking good, scrog is coming along nicely and the purple wreck is recovering from the aphid attack well, should be ready for the net in the next week or two, and probably 2-3 weeks from starting the bloom process. Cheers Tastynugz.

So its been another week, number 6 to be exact, and they are filling out now, might have to thin them a little, but thats all good as I have just got another small tent and made an aerocloner so the cuttings wont be wasted altogether. Scrog net soon I am thinking let them stretch another week and then lay the net over. Cheers Tastynugz.

Very nice journal brother! Have you tried aloe vera as a foliar spray yet?

It basically seals your leaves and keeps them moisturized!

I figure since it's your last few weeks of veg, maybe you should get some foliar in, just to have the experience in the bag??

Also, to help with gnats and any kinda insects, I top dress to soil with a little http://www.richsoil....ceous-earth.jsp!

Good luck

Thanks Fellas, I have foliar sprayed but not with aloe yet, I have used a fermented mix of alfalfa, mustard, celery, broccoli and raddish sprouts mixed with a little blackstrap molasses, brewed as a tea and applied as a foliar spray straight at lights off and diluted 1:1 with rainwater and watered when lights on. Here are some pictures of the process I use, also like to add that the plants really seem to like this treatment, first I grow the sprouts in my greenhouse to about 12mm or 1/2 inch, left tray is the mustard, middle is alfalfa and celery and right tray is raddish and broccoli.

I will pop up a picture or two per post as they seem to be uploading in random order and not as I want, so next step is to pull the sprouts and rinse well through a sieve until the water runs through clean. Before and after pictures below,
