esekiel
does the coco really need as low as 5,5pH?
Chronic Grower
does the coco really need as low as 5,5pH?no you dont need to go that low in coco or hydro 5.8 is good as all nutients are avlailble but but they dont need much micro nutes in vegative stage but they do like more nitrogen so going as low as 5.5 will help the plant grow a bit faster by absording more nitrogen i would set the ph to 5.8 2 weeks before flower and leave it for at 5.8 2 weeks after flowering started as thats when the plant need all micro nutes to start flowering ,then i would slowly move the ph up till im at 6.3 at the end of flowering
Chronic Grower
09/06/2013all 10 plants got planted into there 1 gallon airpouches with a 50/50 mix of coco and perlitewith the led on 24/7, the next few days a few brown spots apperd on 4 plants the ones directly under the led lightso they got a little burned i moved the light up from 2 foot to 3 foot away and put the burned plants on the outsidefeeding is at ec of 0.7 and ph 5.5 doing the 1 feed 1 plain water routinein a few days the plants all recoved apart from the smallest girl but shes slowly getting there.11/06/2013the plants are big enough for me to turn on my 600w dimable ballest to 400w for 8 hours then just have the led running for the rest to save a little eletric till the plants get a little bigger then i will put it up to 12 hours only when the plants start to flower will i turn it up to 600w16/06/2013plants are looing good nothing to report so here is a few picsa little nute burn i thinik with the leaf edges turning up, im going to give them a little bit more plain waterheres the runt of the lotgood temp and humidity for now

Smokeythabear
Really nice start Chronic! I really like that LED...looks like a decent newer technology unit Is this your first grow combining the LED and HPS? Like Dust said, everything looks great, and outta that many plants it seems normal to have one runt of the litter..I'm sure she will come around. Best of luck I will grab me a chair!Peace

Best of luck I will grab me a chair!Peaceyea man this is my first grow combining led with hps don't know how good these light are on there own but im sure they will help my plants along side, yours done very well with them. its getting to hot in my grow room to turn up my ballast to 600w ,so might have to keep it on 400w with the led on 24/7 and hps on 12 hours to compensateheres a update23/06/2013all is looking good all plants are showing female pre flowers now but 2 have started to gain more then the rest to flowering has startedto help the side branches get more light i got some benders they are a bit sharp my stems was a little to fat for the device and one cut into the stem a little but not bad so i will only use on the thinner branches and best not to keep them on for to long or you will never get them off again i left them on for about 3 daysph 5.8ec 1.0temps in the pics
Smokeythabear
Some really nice growth since the last update man, congrats on them all bein ladies..gotta love the speed of these autos!! That's gonna be a really full room!! How old are they now? I think you will really like the combination HPS/LED..seems to produce a spectrum that the plants really like and as you mentioned you can always limit the HPS to a certain amount of hrs and use the LED to combat high temps..nice idea bro, one I may steal if necessary..it's been a hot June already!!Man those bendy clips are the word!! It bends them just perfectly in one step..but I can see what you mean about them only being good for so long before they would cut into the stem..I wonder if they make bigger ones as well? I can't decide whether I would like those or the air pots more! Fantastic root system going there..nice work on the pictures too Peace
Chronic Grower
Smokybear thanks for poping in and looking at my grow man, the plants are 4 weeks from when they first popped out of the coco pellets the air pouches are good just a pain to clean the old roots out so I will be using air pots next time for easy cleaning have u used both ? If so what do you think of both? I think those clips only come in 1size but I will check as I would get bigger ones as they work grate but the stems are thick lower down the plant but the internodes are to short to use at the top of the plants I will let you know if they do bigger 1s peace

Chronic Grower
07/07/2013PH 5.8 EC 1.5 TEMP/DAY 27C NIGHT 23C HUMIDITY 65 %LIGHT HOURS LED 16 / HPS 123 plants have started flowering about 2 week ago, the rest have just startedall looking good but did have some ph problem when i flushed it went back up to 6.2 ,i have problems getting the ph down when i started this grow , so i had to let the root pouch sit in a bucket and soak for 10 mins this way i found resets the ph very well this is what i did i set the ph of the water to 5.5 poured the water into the pot that sat in the bucket untill the water comes just above the medium in the pot ,this is where i needed some kind of weight to stop the pot floating the with my ph pen kept checking the ph of the water in the pot untill it read 5.8 then pulled out the pot frain it off before putting it back into the tent sorry for image quality used my phone cam as other is playing upthey do get better as i worked out how to get better image quality later onit worked very well all plants are looking better all it was was bottom fan leafs had some yellowing and brown spots nothing to bad i have removed them to allow air flow round the bottom of the plants moreive also got a new fliter for my tent one never is enough theres always some smell of weed coming from my room so with the old fliter ive attached it to the end of the ducting so smelly air gets pulled in through the new fliter then blows out of the old fliter and its sorted now no smell at all i did think of doing this about a year ago but never got round to it i wish i did thou saves alot worryheres some pics of my ladies 7 that have just strechedand here are the 3 that are 2 weeks into flowernow with the hps lights turned on

I'm looking forward to seeing the air pots in action! Ya man those clips for LST are the cats meow..very cool shit. Ah man, your internodes are too short?? Such a horrible thing to deal with lol..jokes The LED/HPS combo seems to do a good job of keeping the distance and the plants tight and bushy They are coming along really nicely with lots of chunky fuzzy white buds on the ones more into flower, nice pics even on the phone..keep em coming!Peace
