Smokeythabear
Very nice start brother,I wish you the best for this grow, and I guess you are gonna do some nice stuff. -Peace.Thanks for the well wishins and stopping by Ghost! All the best finishing your grow..it's lookin bomb bro!Healthy fat girls, missing the scrog, but am Intrested to see some more bondage though as wanted to have a play with my Afgooeys outside when they get bigger.Gaz, just for you, since you are missin the scrog I've got the first of the bondage pictures for ya Actually thanks, you mentioning it reminded me to not be lazy and get started on training!! So far I've only tied the one Super C. auto (tried to get pics of different angles..just like any other good bondage porn lol) as the other ones aren't tall enough yet really, but I used the leaf tucking technique still on those ones to get more light to the lateral branches. It's funny at first glance they look VERY sad after tucking, but it is just that I've laid down the law and put things where I want them No more mister nice guy lol! You can get some really nice results outdoors as well, I've seen pics of branches tied to big rocks to bend and hold them down I'm definitely gonna have to check out your outdoor grow!So here are the training results, enjoy.Peace

Smokeythabear
ooh yeah bondage session haha looking nice man i hope it will work out for them and develop some good branching Thanks for the news man Have a good growYa the taller pheno Super C autos really seem to respond nicely to bondage. The mainstem of the one I tied in a couple of days grew a MUCH thicker stem than the non tied one. So last night when I watered 4 of the plants, my wife helped me out and we tied some more branches on the one Super C, and started tying down the 2nd Super C. as well to get it going. Does this make it a 3-some since my wife helped out with the bondage? lolThanks for the pictures. Love to play about with the outdoor grow. Last year was topping. Freshly inspired myself after a day In Amsterdam on Wednesday. Need some FBK seed lovely tasting strain. Looking forward to seeing more bondage. No problem mate, the results are worth the effort, and tomorrow you shall have pictures of more bondage. It is amazing how much growth/hormones can be altered and boosted via simply a few tied strings A man..it would be soo nice to be able to just pop over to Amsterdamn for a day..best I can do is a can of Grolsch or Heineken lol. And you get FBK too? Man..can't wait for that strain to be released as well I'm not begrudging ya..but I do appreciate your situation lovely plantnice branches on the dense onesgood luck broPEACEThanks for checking out the grow slimjim, nice to hear the kind words If by dense ones you mean the mangos I hear ya..they are really stocky and thick..hopefully to support some huge buds if all goes well

Smokeythabear
Hello!! It’s been a very good week in and out of the garden and I just finished vaping a large bowl of Trainwreck that continues to cure nicely and I’m sorry but I’m really far too baked to write much of an intro, not that it matters much so without further blah blah blah from me here are the past weeks journal entries and pictures!I hope everyone is very well, has had an awesome week, and has an even better week the next 7 days, please as always feel free to comment or ask questions and enjoy the pictures.Peace friends! 12/06/13 – 20 days oldSweet mango Auto #1 has shown her sex as well Environment with A/C unit running:Temp lights on = 27.5 max - perfectrH lights on about 50% - would prefer 55 % right now but I’m happy13/06/13 – 3 weeks old (Big Bang auto – 6 days old)Sweet Mango auto #2 & Northern Lights auto have also shown their sexes – only the Big Bang left to show sex – another 10 – 14 days I would imagine. Gonna transplant her into the 23 L pot tomorrow, and keep her the furthest from the light and no direct LED for a little while until she becomes used to the intensity.Noticed a little bit of some sort of stress on both Super C autos, just on the very tip of a few of the topmost leaves. Could be because they were getting the least amount of air flow directed at them and I maybe had the LED’s a little too low for them being the tallest of the plants? I’m going to try and keep the temperature more around 26.5, so I’ve raised the LEDs a little, and moved the Super C’s the furthest from the HPS. They have plenty of light I shouldn’t be pushing it too much. It could also be the results of a bit of over feeding as well.Started to train the ladies a little, tucking the fan leaves under the lateral branches/buds on the Mangos where possible, and the shorter of the Super Criticals. Started to LST the tallest Super Critical, carefully tying her mainstem down to 90 degrees. =14/06/2013Media preparation for transplant of Big Bang auto (7 days old)This time the medium will be prepared using a little bit lower total EC than the last plants to try and avoid the high EC run-off that the last group had after the 2nd watering.Step 1 – Soaked Grodan™ rockwool growchunks for 30 mins in r/o water +Cal Mag Plus @ 0.75 mL/L x 6 L = 4.5 mL (EC 0.27)Advanced Nutrients B-52 @ 0.5 mL/L x 6 L = 3 mL (EC 0.09)GHSC Mother’s PF @ 0.2 g/L x 6 L = 1.2 g (EC 0.36)pH: 5.6 Total (EC 0.72)PLUS (not enough first batch)Soaked Grodan™ rockwool growchunks for 30 mins in r/o water +Cal Mag Plus @ 0.75 mL/L x 4 L = 3 mL (EC 0.27)Advanced Nutrients B-52 @ 0.5 mL/L x 4 L = 2 mL (EC 0.09)GHSC Mother’s PF @ 0.2 g/L x 4 L = 0.8 g (EC 0.36)pH: 5.6 Total (EC: 0.72)Step 2 – Soaked Hydrotron clay pellets in r/o water + nutes for 15 minutes and agitated a few times to wash thoroughly and clean sediment from pellets then drainedCal Mag Plus @ 0.5 mL/L x 5 L = 2.5 mL (EC 0.20)GHSC Mother’s PF @ 0.125 g/L x 5 L = 0.6 g (EC 0.25)pH: 5.6 Total (EC: 0.45)Step 3 – Added dry Pro-mix HP and mixed 50/50 with rockwool growcunks then watered to drain with:Cal-Mag Plus @ 0.75 mL/L x 6 L = 4.5 mL (EC 0.3)Advanced Nutrients B-52 @ 0.5 mL/L x 6 L= 3 mL (EC 0.09)GHSC Mother’s @ 0.15 g/L x 6 L = 1 g (EC 0.28)pH @ 5.5 Total EC: was 0.68 – diluted to who knows what after dropping the EC meter in the f*cking water!!!?? Best guess is 0.6 Temp: 20 °CStep 4- Lined the bottom of the 3.5 L pots with a nice thick layer of Hydrotron pelletsStep 5 - Filled the pots with soiless /growcube mix leaving room for the peat pellet/seedling and a top layer of hydrotronStep 6 - Sprinkled ¼ tsp as per directions of Botannicare ZHO root inoculant (mychorrizae, trichoderma, amino acid) in circular area where seedling was to be placedStep 7 – Cut mesh from top of peat pellets and rolled down ¼ of the way down the pellet so water penetrates and reaches root ball. Some growers remove mesh completely, I’ve done both and left them on for the autoflower grow and the roots grow through them with no problem.Step 8 - Placed pellet in pot on top of sprinkled ZHO and filled in with Promix/growcube mix then topped with light layer of hydrotronStep 9 – Watered around pellet with same nutrient mix as Pro-mix wetting Step #3Added new CO2 producing pad16/06/13 – 2nd watering since transplantThe little bit of yellowing of the tips of the new leaves on the Super Criticals and the high EC of the run-off last watering tells me that it might be a good idea to run a fairly low EC solution using the GHSC Short Flowering Powderfeed through 4 of the plants for today’s feeding to ensure nutrient salts aren’t building up and to get the run-off EC down a little, and get them ready for an explosive flowering. Also going to be adding some Advanced Nutrients Sensizym (enzymes).Watered both Super C’s and both Sweet mangos with 7 liters each r/o water +(Mixed x 2 for 28 L total)Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 0.8 mL/L x 14 L = 10 mL ppm: 200GHSC Indica Powderfeed @ 0.3 g/L x 14L = 4.5 g ppm: 270Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 1 mL/L x 14 L = 14mL ppm : 10Potassium silicate @ 0.0625 mL/L x 14 L = approx. 0.9 mL ppm: 2020% Phosphoric acid (pH down) = approx. 0.8 mL Total ppm: 500 or EC: 0.7 pH: 5.6 Temperature: 22°CRun- off pH was 6.1 for all plants.Run – off EC range was from 1.5 – 1.7 much better than last feedingNext feed I will boost the EC, most likely to about 1.3 – 1.4Bought a waterproof Bluelab EC/ppm/tds meter since I dropped the old non waterproof Hanna meter in the water So far I like it much better . I will switch between ppm and EC so both I and readers that may be unfamiliar with one unit of measurement can try and become “bilingual” lol.** NOTE – if anyone is using my numbers as any kind of a guide for their growing, I’m using the 700 ppm = 1.0 EC conversion factor. I kind of like ppm’s because they have more significant digits and are more precise than a one decimal EC reading.Did more LST on the already tied Super C. & started LST on the 2nd Super C. continued leaf tucking the Mangos which seems to be working really well as they are growing some nice side branching that is almost ready to be tied down themselves. The NLA continues to improve significantly compared to its slow start. I have not had much like with the NLA’s and I’m not sure if I will grow the strain again. The Big Bang auto has taken well to the move into the 23 L pot and the high light intensity in the tent with really nice growth so far. She is positioned in the center towards the fan away from any LED concentration for now.17/06/13Watered the smallish NLA (Northern Lights Auto) with 7 L of r/o water +Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 0.8 mL/L x 7 L = 6 mL ppm: 210GHSC Hybrid Powderfeed @ 0.3 g/L x 7 L = 2.1 g ppm: 250Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 1 mL/L x 7 L = 7 mL ppm : 20Potassium silicate @ 0.1 mL/L x 7 L = approx. 0.7 mL ppm: 2020% Phosphoric acid (pH down) pH: 5.6 Temperature: 22°C Total ppm: 500 or EC: 0.7 Run-off pH = 6.0 Run-off EC = 1.7Started LST on the 2nd Super Critical auto and continued to tie down the 1st one. Also did some more leaf tucking on the Sweet Mango autos. They are starting to stretch and have super thick branches , and I don’t think I want to tie the mainstems of them but I may tie down the side branches a little to increase light to secondary and lower bud sites. It’s been a little cooler at night so was able to turn off the A/C unit for the night. Less $$ = :biggrin:18/06/13 – Plants are 26 days old (exception Big Bang – 11 days old)I'm very happy with the recent growth spurt, and as the plants grow they require more air exchange and circulation so I’ve FINALLY installed the intake fan for the tent to increase air circulation. I know I mentioned that I did awhile back, but ended up messing with some things and realized it wasn’t quite necessary yet and I forgot to mention it so ya, it’s finally in NOW Past weeks environment:Lights on 18 hrs:Room temp = 27 - 28 °CrH in room = 50 % majority of the time (+- 5%)Lights off 6 hrs: Room temp = 22 - 23 °CrH = 50 – 60%Light height : 600W HPS = 60 – 70 cm – NOW LOWERED TO 55 – 65 cm max. Smokeythabear
WEEKLY UPDATE: 34 DAYS FROM SPROUT (MAIN GROUP of 5) – Big Bang Auto is 19 days oldHello friends, apologies for the 1 day late update, it was late last night by the time I watered the ladies and I didn’t have the energy to post I’m very happy with the condition of the grow medium as run-off numbers indicate almost no salt build-up! This is the best grow so far at keeping things under control from the beginning with reference to not letting nute salts build up with the help of keeping track of run-off right from the start (something I didn’t always do) as well as looking back at past grow data. Nice to know those hours + hours + hours and hours of keeping notes & data does pay off I haven’t really done much more bondage as the Super Criticals autos are in an arrangement that I like and while much taller than the Sweet Mango autos (if they weren’t tied) they are at the exact same height right now as the Mangos, and the Northern lights auto, maximizing light distribution.I’ve determined that the two SCA plants are the same pheno, as well as the two SMA plants are both the same pheno. From my last auto grow with these two strains I now know I got the amazing Super C. pheno I loved so much and I got the citrus/mango/sour milk Sweet Mango auto pheno that I also liked. It was not the super yielding pheno but that is ok all mango is good and I preferred the flavor! One negative thing I’ve noticed is a little bit of yellowing on the tips of a few plants, they aren’t crispy and dry, but soft and pale green to yellow. This seems to occur mainly on the upper areas of the plant. Looking at the last auto grow the same issue occurred and the plants grew out of it.Other highlights are:#1) The switch to 17 hrs of light: The lights on time was cut by 1 hr because by the time 17 hrs of lights on had passed it the Super Critical autos in particular would go limp like they do usually during their night time. I think this was because they had enough light for the day and were ready to rest, so I listened to them and cut 1 hr off the lights on. I will probably cut it down to 16 hrs once they are really into flowering.#2) The SMELL! It is getting very stinky in the tent now very quickly. The SCA’s and the SMA’s are leading the smell category with the SCA’s super skunky and a bit spicy and the SMA’s really sour and fruity.I will let the weeks past journal entries, pictures (took some of them outta the tent this time for individual), and data tell the rest of the story. Please scroll over the pictures for the name of the plants, there are lots as I got tired of narrowing them down Have a great week and keep on tokin!!Peace 20/06/13 – 5 Plants are 4 weeks old (Big Bang is 13 days old)Noticed that with about a ½ hr to an hr left during their daytime the plants tend to go limp like they do when it’s lights out. I’m thinking that this may be a sign that they have had enough light for the day and are ready for their nighttime. With this in mind, I’m going to alter their cycle from 18/6 to 17/7. I know, odd, but I don’t think they are benefitting from the light when they have gone into that “mode” of sleeping and recovery and hey an hour less lights on time is 1 hr of saved electricity. It has been 4 days since last watering and the pots of the Super C’s and the Mangos are getting fairly light. I’m tempted to water them tonight but I want to let them get fairly dry and hungry after the 0.7 EC watering.Continued with the bondage on the 2 Super Critical autos. Also continued tucking the Sweet Mango auto leaves while tying a few of the lateral branches to get the ladies to open up a little, nothing major an no main-stem tying.** NEXT WATER add Carbo, Enhance, Gold?21/06/13 – main group is 29 days oldWatered the 2 SMA and 2 SCA plants with 8 L each r/o +Mixture x 2Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1 mL/L x 16 L = 16 mL ppm: 270Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 0.5 mL/L x 16 L = 8 mL ppm : 10DNF Enhance pine oil @ 1 mL/L x 16 L = 16 mL ppm: 30DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.2 g/L x 16 L = 3.2 gGHSC Mother’s Powderfeed @ 0.5 g/L x 16 L = 8 g ppm: 480Potassium silicate @ 0.1 mL/L x 16 L = approx. 1.6 mL 20% Phosphoric acid (pH down)Total EC: 1.1/ ppm: 790 pH: 5.6 Temperature: 22°CRun-off pH = 5.9 - 6.0 Run-off EC = 1.3 – 1.4/900 – 1000 ppmAdded the 2nd internal oscillating fan on the opposite side of the tent as the other one. This will help to increase air circulation inside the tent as well as to more evenly distribute the air flow.24/06/13 – main group 32days old – Big Bang auto 17 daysOutside temperature and humidity soared yesterday, continues today, and is supposed to continue all week It was about 40° C today with the humidity @ about 80% Indoors, so far conditions in the garden are still decent but it is costing a ton of $$. I have the portable A/C unit running full 24/7 on the same floor as the grow tent to cool and de-humidify things, as well as the de-humidifier on to help lower the rH. Unfortunately the de-humidifier puts out dry warm air so it battles the A/C..ahh the joys of Summer growing indoors! With both running the conditions are as follows:Daytime: Temperature = 28.5 °C max rH = 58 – 62%Nighttime: Temperature = 23 °C min rH = 60% (63 max)Letting the Northern Lights auto dry out for 8 days since her last watering seems to have paid off with a healthier looking plant, with better color and some nice growth recently for a plant that has struggled from the start. Time to give her some food! I will water her with almost the same mix as the rest of the ladies got last watering as they seem to be doing fairly well with it..but I will add a little more PF because she is a little pale and the last NLA I grew loved the nutes. She will be a little bit of a test plant.Watered Northern Lights auto w/ 8 L reverse osmosis water +Botanicare Cal Mag Plus @ 1 mL/L x 8 L = 8 mL ppm: 260Advanced Nutrients Sensizym @ 0.5 mL/L x 8 L = 4 mL ppm : 10DNF Enhance pine oil @ 1 mL/L x 9 L = 10 mL ppm: 30DNF Carbo Logic @ 0.2 g/L x 8 L = 1.6 gGHSC Mother’s Powderfeed @ 0.7 g/L x 8 L = 5.6 g ppm: 640Potassium silicate @ 0.1 mL/L x 8 L = approx. 0.8 mL 20% Phosphoric acid (pH down) Total EC: 1.39/ ppm: 940 pH: 5.6 Temperature: 22°CRun-off pH = 5.9 - 6.0 Run-off EC = 1.3 – 1.4/900 – 1000 ppm25/06/2013 4 days after watering the 2 Super Critical autos and 2 Sweet mango autos are definitely ready for water.
