DAMN bro!! that is some killer OG really nice to see someone using powderfeeding on this scale with hydro I personally love the stuff when i first started using it i was a doubter but i have become a true believer if you use it correctly it's by far the best bang for your buck nutrient wise. anyways bro i'd love to see some bud shot's of the finnished product from this grow when all is said and done.

thanks for all those pics man it was worth waiting a little to see all this! Thanks for all the infos also on the EC values! so would you say when you mix the powder on large scale you used more than 1g/L to get your desired EC or ou sticked under it even for the unvolunteer 2.0 ^^?

But they have had a very nice growth still looking very vigorous and resin is building up nicely :) I hope the yeild will follow ;)

Have a good end of grow we'll be waiting for news ;)

1.5weeks till harvest then we'll see how it all pans out :) cheers and yes the Powder Feeding works awesome even in DWC which I hadn't seen done before this journal

i'm excited each time I'm there to snap photos, and sometimes the camera doesn't do it justice. wish I had better skills at that sometimes :)

honestly for me to reach 1.5ec in my systems, I have to add 600-650ml of the 1-part SHORT. My systems are 175gallons total and my tap water is around 0.15-0.2ec depending on the seasons outside. so basically it's 1.5ec - 0.2ec (tap water), 1.3ec food value, 175gallons = 662litres of water.

So yes your spot on with the 1ml/litre formula to reach desired ec levels in DWC.

I'm stoked on the resin production for the start of week 7 :) that's one thing to me that has really impressed me with the Powder Feeding. BIGTIME!

I was hoping the tops would have connected alot better, but my lack of pruning and gutting at week 3 didn't allow the plant to focus on the arms and colas and it put all over instead hehe.... my bad and this OG strain put out a shit load of nodes and sites that I wasn't ready for compared to Bubba/Pinks etc.....

more photos at the end of the week

Damn man!!! What a killer room!! I was just checking out your new Jack journal and was amazed and had to come and check this one out. You've really been putting the past 7 years of learning to good use ;) I would kill to have a space like that lol. Did you go big right away or have you slowly been building up to a couple rooms adding a little at a time? I love the DWC set-up and you definitely showed us that the PF works excellent with it :) I hope we will see some bud porn once the OG is ready and I'm gonna grab a seat for your Jack journal. As Greeno mentioned it's a killer strain that I find great for daytime pain and one I would love to grow someday in the somewhere near future.

From one Canadian grower to another..WELCOME, as Greeno mentioned it's great to see another Canuck in here  I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Peace

****PHOTOS FROM DAY 49 of FLOWER****

Alright just started week 8 of Flower, and things are good :) drained and refilled the system last night and got my EC @ 1.1 and also used GH KoolBloom Powder (ripener) to help those flowers with the last 7-10 days.

Overall I'm very happy with the resin and crystal just wished I was more on top of the pruning/gutting on week 3/4 since there's so many god damn nodes and sites everywhere. It's gonna be a long trim day :)

I'm coming up to the last of my updates and hope people have enjoyed the journal. I'm looking forward to the finish on this OG Kush strain since I already have some pre-vegging in 3" cubes right now to reload in my VEG room when I move the Jack Herer's over. I'm gonna correct my pruning error next time around and try to get the arms and cola's to fill out alot more on this strain :) This strain is definitely the strongest in my mother bank :)

yeah it's pretty impressive under the skirt even with little to no light being able to make it's way thru :) that's one thing with DWC and Hydro is that even the nodes and buds inside or underneath that don't get the light needed are "airy" but still sugary and tasty :)

really looking forward to the Jack's now since this space works really well and everything is happy and moving along nicely in the VEG room. just need to put another order of Powder Feeding in to take me thru 8 weeks of Flower with the HYDRID food for the Jack Herer's since 3 kg won't cut it I don't think. specially since it seemed to like the higher EC levels you suggested early on in this journal :) glad I listened Dust and thx for the feedback on that.

I wonder where Oldemarine has been though??? haven't heard or seen him since August and he had some really good insight that helped me too and he was keen on the DWC test with the 1-part food. hopefully all is well with him :)

Powder feeding is really excellent product for growing cannabis.

I used for the first time in my external growth caboose, and I was very pleased, I pushed my plants up to EC of 2.3, and no plant showed signs of overdose, or pH changes in the substrate.

Lol Anyway, your room looks like a laboratory. :)

***FINISHED 10.15.13***

Alright, the OG is all finished up and here are some hilarious photos from trimming the other day. I'll have finished and dried photos next week. I took these to (58) days total flower time.

Overall the 1-part Powder Feeding works awesome in DWC :) That's all I got for now, hope you guys get a good chuckle of the roots perfectly shaped to my 13gallon buckets, plus the size of the trunk on this beast. Remember, these plants started from clone on JUNE16th, so 4 months of growing for a 3.5" trunk in DWC is pretty cool.

There were (4) ingredients total I used for my grow and it was

1-Part Powder Feeding (SHORT)

UC Roots (Current Culture Product, Root + Water Maintenance)

GH CaliMagic (Needed to add Calcium+Magnesium since my water EC is so low)

GH KoolBloom Powder (Ripener)

Hope everyone follows the Jack Herer journal that started up, and chat soon :)

Thx bro. Yes the Powder Feeding is pretty impressive for be able to run higher EC values in DWC with no signs of lockout or overdose stress. I was pretty nervous when I accidentally went to 2.0ec on week 7, since I only planned to peak around 1.7-1.8ec. I'll be running higher EC's early on my Jack Herer's journal and we'll see how that goes :) thx for the props....

cheers for the positive feedback :) I don't want to jinx anything but I should be higher than my normal average on these rooms per watt. Like I said in my previous posts, I'll be keeping on top of the gutting/pruning during week 3 to week 4.5 next OG round since I did have alot of airy buds inside and didn't focus the energy enough up to the tops. Still nice sized buds and will have some samples up next week :)

thx for the compliments bro. the rooms work great and keep everything happy :) harvest pics will be up early next week, and I'm looking forward to the Jack Herer grow too since I'll be running higher EC's early on now that I know the Powder Feeding program won't lock em' out.

Thx again :)

can only imagine trying to move through that beautiful field..... you would get sticky!

bro, you had to get on your knees to move around in there :) it was too funny at the end and the arms and buds were so strong that if you tried to stand up and move in between you got stuck and sticky as hell hehehe.....

thx for sticking around bro and hope to see you at the Jack Herer grow and future ones too :)

damn man that's a serious root ball you have there!! they have been very happy with the PF for sure :) Just to know do you see any improvment or contrary on the PF grow roots compared to the ones you did before in those pots? or perhaps it was first time with that exact setup?

yeah they were all serious root balls Dust :) all (15) were compact, dense and sooooo heavy. I've never seen "tap roots" through my net pots that were so thick and abundant, it was hard to cut and separate my net pots from them afterwards hehe....

there was a serious "growth" improvement in my roots with using Powder Feeding this go around. In my previous rounds using Nutrilife Salts, my roots were healthy still but not nearly as much in mass+weight, and form fitting to my 13gallon buckets. I would ballpark that my root mass was 20-30% larger than with using my other foods.

Also a big improvement in stalk mass since again the stalks and branches were good and healthy with Nutrilfe Salts, but with the Powder Feeding my stalk and branches were noticeably stronger, thicker and way more overall mass.

Powder Feeding has won me over Dust! I'm using it here on out :)

Last Update, 11.08.13

Well it's been a couple weeks of curing for the OG Kush, and it tastes and smells beautiful. I have it in my personal C-Vault for long term storage, and I also have another personal stash in paper bags on hold for a couple months to compare both ways.

After everything was finished, one thing that I would have liked to have done was to go another full week of flower. Even though the plants were ripe and mature, I should have been patient and given them another 7 days to help with density. I didn't drop my nighttime temps soon enough either, and didn't get the full colouring I would have liked.

All in all it was a success with the 1-part Feeding though. After curing, my efficiency ended up being 0.83grams per watt. It didn't look like I was going to hit that mark before coming down, but here's the ingredients and costs of the grow.

1-Part Feeding x 4kg total = $195.00

UC Roots x 2litres = $90.00

GH Floralicous Plus x 1.2litres = $55.00

GH KoolBloom Powder x 1kg = $25.00

I've actually got another round of the same OG Kush strain started in my VEG room, but I've been using Nutrilife ABC Salts as a comparison or test against the Powder Feeding program to see for myself.

Hope everyones enjoyed the journal and been good to hear the responses and feedback from people. The Jack Herer journal is moving along nicely and that should be another good ride for everyone :)
